Jim "PAPA" Snoxell, aged 91, passed away, peacefully at home on August 22, 2026, in Santa Monica, CA.
Born on May 8, 1935, in West Molesey, Surrey, England. Jim made his way to Santa Monica in the late 1960's by way of Australia and New Zealand. After moving to the States, Jim became a respected and cherished member of the community, known for his unwavering support of Arsenal Football Club, his one of a kind sense of humor and for being the "Best Papa Ever" to his grandchildren.
Jim leaves behind a loving and beautiful family, including his loving and devoted wife Carol and beloved daughters Colleen, Zoe & partner David and Fiona & husband Kenny. He was also a deeply cherished grandfather to Brittney & husband Matt, Shelby, James, Dylan & wife Kaitlyn, Payton, Payshance and Riley. His role as a husband, father, and grandfather was filled with love, guidance, and laughter.
Jim was the proud owner of Santa Monica Motors, a cornerstone of the local economy for over 40 years. His dedication to his business and the service he provided left a lasting impact on Honda owners all over Los Angeles.
An avid soccer fan, Jim's passion for Arsenal FC was known to all who knew him. His enthusiasm for the game and his team made for great conversation. You could always find him sipping his tea at the Cock & Bull catching a match and supporting his Gunners.
The life and love of Jim "Papa" Snoxell will be celebrated on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The house will be open from 1pm - 5pm to accommodate family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jim.
