I'm so sad about Jim's passing. Jim has been a great person and role model. He was thorough and complete in his work, always professional yet personable, and a great team member. He loved sharing about his family! What I will miss most about Jim is how he really cared for other people, and was such an easy person to talk with, whether about work or family or fun.

Jim was always the type of person who, even under stressful situations, did not let things affect him. Dedicated to his craft, he radiated calmness even when things got difficult. Rest in peace. I will miss you.

I’m saddened to hear of the news that Jim has left this world. I’ve enjoyed working with him on and off for several decades. Jim was soft spoken and kind. Hugs to those that he left behind.

Jim,
You made the world a better place through your kindness, intelligence and generosity of spirit.
Your life will be felt by many people, in many ways for many years. You will be missed.

I remember Jim with fondness during our time at HPE. He was always great to work with, friendly, professional. We lost touch after I left HPE, but I look forward to catching up with him in heaven. My prayers to his family during this sad time.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim (on and off) for many years. Jim was with HP for 18+ years! During our "in office years" we all used to spend as much (or more) time with our HP/HPE teammates as we do our families. Jim was a great teammate and fit into the HP family role perfectly. When God called Jim home, it comes with the sadness, sorrow and shock for those of us left behind. I have only positive/good memories of Jim. My prayers go out to his family (and work/non work friends). He made a positive difference in so many lives.

I remember the first time I met Jim in person, so warm, kind and welcoming person he was. He teaches us a lot at work, and he was always at reach. I remember the time when he invited me and few other Costa Rican fellows to have dinner in his house, we meet his family, and I remember we laugh and enjoy the time there. Jim was so proud and rightfully so of his family. My deeply condolences to his family. We will miss him.

Jim loved his work. He was a meticulous, dedicated, and talented engineer, also a very kind friend. I enjoyed working with Jim. He was just here, talking, laughing, and now he’s gone, I still can’t believe it. Every time I pass by his desk, I look and hope to see him there. I will miss you Jim, will miss your voice a few aisles away when you had meetings. I’m glad I got to know you.

The formal verification community will miss Jim hugely. As the all-time highest "best presentation" winner at Jasper User Group he always brought a unique combination of technical insight, sage advice and dry humor. I will remember him very fondly. Rest in peace Jim!

Jim was a warm and lighthearted presence in the office, with a sense of humor that brought joy. He represented what it meant to be a great engineer; forward thinking, and passionate. He was an advocate for innovation; encouraging and mentoring young engineers to expand their potential. But his passion to pour into the younger generation went beyond our profession. He was always a willing candidate to enjoy the homemade treats I would bake whenever I wanted to test out a new cookbook. His nature truly embodied the fruits of the spirit, and he will be dearly missed.

I first met Jim during his job interview at HP, and I was his mentor when he joined the company. Since the beginning, I was very impressed with his thorough and methodical approach to getting things done. He switched over to formal verification and proved to be an excellent engineer in that field. He mentored many other engineers in the field as well, and built a team of formal experts. His contributions were quite impressive over the past several projects at HP Procurve, HPE Aruba.
Jim was very proud of his family, and was always sharing anecdotes and their accomplishments. Having met them several times over the years, I was always struck by how down to earth they are, and how he loved his family, parents and in-laws.
It was quite shocking to know that he is no longer with us. We are going to miss him. May he rest in eternal peace!

Jim was one of our favorite customers at Cadence, and not just because he was an advocate for our technology. Interactions with Jim were always creative, inquisitive, and deep. We learned as much from him as he did from us. He was always willing to work with our junior staff and help guide their professional development. And when we faced challenges together, we could count on Jim to be persistent, patient, and polite. He was a great person to work with and we will miss him dearly.

Having the opportunity to work with a talented and devoted professional is always a pleasure, but when that person is also a great human being it's simply one of the best feelings that one could feel at work. To me, that's what Jim was, a passionate and talented engineer that we all loved working and interacting with. I can only feel and have only felt admiration towards Jim, which fully motivated me to start learning from him and his formal expertise. I'm certainly doing and will keep doing my best to preserve and hopefully grow his legacy and continue his dream of growing this team. I can only be thankful for the opportunity of meeting Jim, I will certainly miss him very much.
¡Muchas gracias Jim, te extrañaremos mucho!

I had the pleasure to work closely with Jim these last 2 years. He was a mentor to me and was always happy to share his knowledge with everyone else. I'll miss his warm spanish greetings and how passionate he was for his work. Even from miles away I felt like I knew him in person, what a kind and friendly person he was! I will miss him very deeply.
May he rest in peace at God's side.

I was priviledged to have worked with Jim for the past 6 years. He was an amazing person that was always bringing something new to the table and someone who everyone wanted to collaborate with. I've always admired his motivation to share with wide knowledge with juniors, interns, and his colleagues. His contributions and great personality will be always remembered. The Jasper family at Cadence will miss him greatly. RIP our always best-JUG presenter!

I had the pleasure to work with Jim the last 5 years. He was a very smart and dedicated to his work. Also, he shared personal experiences, and he was proud of his family. He was man with principles, ethic and with a deep faith to God. I always remember when we tried a 1:1 meeting in Spanish since he shared that he learned it because of his wife and to talk to his in laws.
I will miss him.

Jim was an invaluable source of knowledge for all of us, and we were fortunate to learn so much from him through our daily work. His warm greetings in Spanish always brought a smile to our faces here in Costa Rica, and they made him feel even closer to us. Jim, you will be deeply missed

Jim worked as part of an international team, with people in several different locations.
Whenever he joined a meeting with those of us in Costa Rica he would make a point of greeting us in Spanish.
Most of us never met him in person, but we talked almost every day, and Jim was a constant presence in our lives at work.
He will be deeply missed.
