I have fought the fine fight, I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith” - 2 Ti 4:7

Obituary

Jerome Miller Jr. was born in Chicago, IL on 10/1/91 to Elisa and Jerry Miller Sr.
His parents raised him in a lively, warm home with his four siblings. From a young age, Jerome enjoyed being outside and active-mostly he could be found playing football and basketball. But when he was inside, he was playing video games, wrestling his friends, or playing cards. He also developed a passion for something he became known for- board games! He was so creative he would even invent his own.
His friends also knew him as a huge jokester-they never knew when the next prank was coming! He had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed making his loved ones laugh.
Even though he liked to have fun, he was balanced and valued spiritual things.
That is why on 1/26/08 he made the most important decision of his life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. That shaped everything else he did, and he consistently put Jehovah first in all his decisions. After high school, Jerome took college computer courses and was employed as a loan originator and a reseller.
Later, Jerome met a like-minded beautiful sister who shared his spiritual goals-and also love of board games!
They married in 2014 and immediately gained the reputation of being an easygoing and exemplary couple in their congregation. They kept their life simple and had the privilege of pioneering and going to Pioneer Service School together in 2018.
The following year, they joined the Arabic language group to reach even more with the Kingdom good news and participated in a special preaching campaign. In 2020, Jerome became an overseer in the congregation. It was clear to all that Jerome & Ruby were best friends with each other and Jehovah. The generous couple often invited others over for meals and to enjoy their impressive game collection.
With Jerome, it was more than just playing games; it was about the positive association and helping others appreciate the joy of serving Jehovah.
In 2022, Jerome was suddenly confronted with cancer, and his motto became: ‘‘Stay positive, trust in Jehovah, and believe.”
And that he did!
During this time, Jerome clung to his spiritual routine, consistently telling others about his firm hope. Even without a word, Jerome’s kind, mild, and genuine nature, especially during challenging times, was noticed by all.
One therapist stated, “Jerome’s heart fills up the whole room.” The wonderful medical staff at Mayo Clinic would see Jerome’s and Ruby’s smiles (even through their masks!) and were impressed that they were so positive and courageous. Jerome said with conviction,“We won’t be jipped-we will be rewarded…Paradise is here!”
With that unshakeable trust and faith, Jerome fell asleep on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 32 years of age.

Jerome is survived by his spouse, Ruby Miller, his parents, Jerome Sr & Elisa Miller, his siblings, John Miller, Joel Miller, Belma (Ernie) Diaz, Julie Rodriguez, his nieces, nephew, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends like family.
