Obituary

Jeffrey “Jeff” Wilson, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Towson, Maryland.
Jeff’s life was defined by perseverance, resilience, and an unwavering kindness toward others. From a young age, he faced circumstances that would have broken many. Following a devastating car accident, Jeff was critically ill and hospitalized for several months. Against extraordinary odds, he fought his way back and went on to live an independent and fulfilling life, becoming a devoted father to his two children, Madison and Reilly.
Jeff took pride in many of the things that brought him joy. He was passionate about fitness and was honored with the Allstate Healthy American Fitness Leader Award in September of 1991, an achievement that led to the unforgettable opportunity to meet and have his picture taken with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jeff was an especially devoted fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks. He never simply watched a football game—he had plenty of thoughts about what the team could be doing better and was always ready to offer his analysis. His remarkable knowledge of sports earned him a reputation as something of a walking sports encyclopedia; he could rattle off facts and statistics with impressive ease.
Music was another great love of Jeff’s. His tastes spanned classic rock, jazz, and blues, with favorite artists including Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Miles Davis.
Jeff was also a man of strong convictions. He never hesitated to stand up for what he believed was right and was a proud American patriot. He had a particular appreciation for the people who serve their communities, and it was not uncommon for him to stop and personally thank first responders for the work they did.
But for all of Jeff’s accomplishments and interests, those who knew him would likely agree that what mattered most about him was his kindness.
Jeff did not have a mean bone in his body. He had a genuine interest in people and could often be found stopping to ask those around him how they were doing. He seemed to know someone everywhere he went, and his ability to make people feel seen and welcomed was one of the qualities that made him so deeply loved. He left an impression on people not because he demanded attention, but because he made the people around him feel that they mattered.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Albert and Marge Wilson; his children, Madison and Reilly Wilson; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Sue Wilson; and several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He also leaves behind countless friends and loved ones whose lives were made better by knowing him.
Jeff’s life was a testament to resilience, but his legacy will be remembered most through the kindness he gave so freely. He faced adversity with remarkable strength, remained steadfast in what he believed, and continued to find joy in the people, music, sports, and moments that made life meaningful.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
