Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jeff Scheihing

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeff Scheihing on 11/27/25 at the age of 49. Born in Billings, MT to Lindsay Berg (Vann) and Dan Scheihing, he was naturally curious and adventurous from an early age. These traits guided his life choices. After graduating from Billings West High, Jeff attended MSU and majored in Biochemistry and Spanish. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, Glendale, where he met his wife, Dinice.

Throughout his life, Jeff called many places home - Santiago de Compostela, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland - but there was no place he loved more than Montana. He returned to Bozeman in 2019 with his family, where he established a strong community and circle of friends. Jeff leaves a profound legacy of love, family, friendship and adventure.  Jeff instilled these values in his children and will live on through them.

A dedicated anesthesiologist, Jeff spent his life working hard and living his personal life to the fullest. His passion for adventure and the great outdoors was surpassed only by his love for his family. Whether he was mountain biking or skiing through the breathtaking landscapes of Montana, traveling to new destinations, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature with his family, he embraced life through outdoor adventures and an active lifestyle.

Jeff valued time with friends, always bringing joy, laughter, and often some debate, into their lives. Known for his infectious enthusiasm, he had a fondness for '80s movies and music, science fiction literature, and a deep appreciation for Pearl Jam. His signature greeting, "Dude," will be remembered by all who knew him - a reminder of his fun-loving spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife Dinice; his children, Elia, Asa, and Madeline; his brother, Mike; his mom Lindsay; and a community of friends and family who will miss him dearly. In honor of Jeff’s adventurous spirit, a celebration of life will be held on 1/24/26 at the Baxter Hotel ballroom.

Rest in peace, Jeff. Your love will forever be in our hearts.

Dude. Jeff is my brother in law and one of my best friends, always will be. It’s rare to meet someone later in life who makes you feel like you’ve always known them. This is what Jeff was for me and it came with great laughs, interesting conversation, and unconditional support. I miss my friend and brother but he will always be with me. I hear his voice often…”dude, do you really think that?”. In a parallel universe I know we are drinking a beer together, talking about our kids, the next trip together, the latest sci fi read, retirement/winning the lottery. This moment is not only about sadness for me, although there has been a lot of that. It’s also about thankfulness. Thank you Jeff for making me a part of your family and for being such a great friend. I love you.
