Jayne Elizabeth Miller Pless

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
Obituary
The world lost a bright light and a brilliant educator on March 19, 2025, when Jayne Miller (Pless) passed away at the age of 76 at the Niagara County Hospice House. Born on July 15, 1948, to Wilbur and June Pless, Jayne lived a life defined by warmth, learning, and beauty.
After earning her Master’s Degree in Education from the University at Buffalo, where she was a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa, Jayne dedicated her career to teaching French, inspiring countless students over the years. On December 27, 1988, she married the love of her life, Dan, in Niagara Falls. Over their 36 years of marriage, they built a life rooted in devotion and deep friendship.
When she wasn't teaching, Jayne could almost always be found lost in a good book or tending to her vibrant flower gardens. Above all, she adored her family, finding her greatest joy in being a mother to Christian and a grandmother to Isabelle and Aiden.
Her legacy will live on through her husband, Dan; her son, Christian; her grandchildren, Isabelle and Aiden; and the many family members, friends, and former students whose lives she touched.
