James E. Wade, born on August 11, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at the age of 86 in Brandon, Florida. He was the youngest son of Walter Edmond Wade, Sr. and Rachel Ellen Cowan. He is also survived by one older brother, Jonny.
Known as Jimmy to his many brothers and sisters, he was the youngest of ten. He also enjoyed spending time with his nephews, who were close to his own age. Jim grew up in Memphis. After graduating in 1958, Jim enlisted in the Air Force, and enjoyed traveling to many exciting places, including London, Paris, and West Germany.
After getting married to Anita Foster in 1967, Jim worked hard to support his family, spending many years in the food industry, including at Sugar Services and at Cargill Corn Milling, both located in Memphis. Jim also enjoyed working on houses, having built or remodeled four of his homes over the years.
After retirement, he and Anita enjoyed working in their garden, and traveling to visit family, many who have moved away from Memphis over the years. In October of 2023, Jim and Anita moved to Valrico, Florida to be closer to family.
Jim's family misses him dearly and his welcoming smile and crazy laugh. They look forward to seeing him again when Almighty God fulfills his promised Resurrection.
