What to say that hast been said already. Quite simply one of the good guys. I'll always a remember one of the golf outings at Stonehaven when Jim was playing less than good :-)
What a laugh.
RIP mate.
Thank you for all the support and guidance since we first met 18 years ago. You were a great friend and truly one of a kind, always a laugh to have a chat with and share a beer or two.
Thanks for the great memories—we will cherish them forever. My condolences go out to your family and loved ones.
RIP my friend Jim.
Jim had a remarkable gift for diffusing tension with just the right words and an easy sense of humor that could instantly lift a room. He was unfailingly kind, always looking out for others—supporting, encouraging, and helping them grow.
His office was just across from mine, and I’ll deeply miss the full-throated, animated discussions we shared across the aisle. Working with Jim and tackling problems together was a joy and a privilege.
I will miss you dearly, my friend. But I will forever cherish the memories and the many moments of laughter, insight, and camaraderie we shared.
May God grant strength and comfort to his family, especially his beloved daughters—the apples of his eye—as they navigate this profound loss.
Life will simply never quite be the same without you in it. You leave a big hole in our lives and our hearts and we will miss you immensely. Thank you for always looking out for me, for being a comfort and offering a guiding hand when needed. We'll miss your presence at family gatherings but well never forget your smile and big laugh and how you could bring fun and laughter into a room, simply by being there.
I'll miss you always. Rest in peace James xxx

Thanks for all the great memories during our travels and of course on the golf course when despite the score we would always have fun, often at the expense of one another. I am sure you are in a better place now with good company, amazing golf and making people’s time just that little bit better.

I have known Jim for a few years in Houston. He was a wonderful mentor and a great source of wisdom.
As it was highlighted by his closest colleagues, his legacy is living on, and in challenging times, we will keep seeking his advice, asking ourselves: "what would Jim do in this situation?".
Throughout my career, you were the mentor who was always there—with clarity, honesty, and unwavering support. In the most challenging times, your guidance was precise, your words uplifting, and your humor a light that reminded us we could face anything.
I can’t recall a single hard moment when your presence didn’t make things better. Thank you for everything, my friend. And for what it's worth—I still owe you that beer on the other side.
It was a pleasure working with Jim in 2024. Nothing but great interactions with him in which he shared wisdom, provided support and threw in some good ol’ humor. Be at peace, you shall be missed.

Sharing a memory with Jim in this picture, taken when he accompanied me to an Audit to our TLM facility in North- East India, seldom visited due to remoteness. This is us being felicitated as guests by the hosts with the stole gifted to us.
Rest in peace Jim, you are sorely missed!
Regards,
Mario

When I got told by another great school friend Hamish of the passing of James my heart sank and so many emotions came out and Hamish and myself spoke for some time remembering the great times we had as kids, we were really tight as friends growing up in Cruden Bay.

Always Remembered and never Forgotton James

I first met Jim Robertson in 2007, when I was cross-training into D&M. He was my instructor at the Sugar Land Learning Center. Jim had a way of making difficult things simple, serious moments lighter, and complex systems feel manageable — always with his quiet confidence and that perfectly dry Scottish humor that stayed with you long after class ended.
In 2015, when I returned to D&M after some time away, Jim was the D&M Maintenance Manager for NGC in Lafayette. He gave me a warm welcome, walked me through the base, and reminded me once again how calm, capable, and grounded he was — no matter the pressure.
From 2018 through early 2023, Jim and I worked together in D&M TLM HQ — and those years included some of the most challenging times any of us have lived through. Through the uncertainty and isolation of COVID, Jim was an anchor. I could always come to him for advice, no matter how difficult the situation. He would listen, reflect, and respond with clarity, kindness, and unwavering reliability. You could count on him — always.
Together we traveled the world: to maintenance bases across North and South America, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. In every country, on every team, Jim made people feel supported. He didn’t lead with volume — he led with depth. He brought knowledge, humor, and a quiet strength that made the people around him better.
Jim was also proudly Scottish. He carried that pride with grace — in the way he spoke, worked, and stood firm in what mattered. He was a colleague, a companion, and, in many ways, the heart of the team.
To Jim’s parents, daughters, his family, and all who loved him — please know how deeply respected and valued he was by his colleagues across the globe. His wisdom, humor, and steady presence are already missed — and will be for a long time.
Thank you, Jim. For everything. It was an honor to walk alongside you.

We worked sometime together in Tyumen and Sakhalin and kept intouch through the years.
I'm very sorry for the loss and wish his family strength - he enlightened some many lives and may he rest in piece!
His sense of humor was fantastic, and I was enjoying the times we were making fine-spun jokes!
I am proud that I was working with him and inherit his vision, broad mindset and ambitions, which will stay with me forever. I hope, that as a friend I gave him as much support as possible.
Jim! Be happy and peaceful wherever you are...
Gone but never forgotten, RIP Jim

His sense of humor was unmatched; every promotion we had a call - "Hola. Got a real job now?". When Jim was assigned as the TLM manager, he called me and asked, "Do you know who the new TLM manager will be?" Without missing a beat, I hit him, "Got a real job now?"
Our outings to Indian restaurants, where he would order the spiciest food for me and laugh as I struggled, are moments I will never forget.
Jim was a fantastic person with immense intellect and a heart full of kindness. I am deeply sorry for the family's loss.
