Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Jack, known to many as Aki, who was born on 25 December 1995 and passed away peacefully on 22 May 2025 in Sydney.

Aki was a cherished son to Tasesa and Anita, a dearly loved brother to Bronson, Michael and Tessa, a brother-in-law to Emma, a Huncle to Isla, and a much-loved grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend.

To us, Aki was family in the fullest and most beautiful sense of the word. He was our Christmas baby, our cheeky one, our gentle soul, our quick-witted commentator, and the person who could somehow test your patience and melt your heart in the very same breath.

He had a way of making people feel comfortable without even trying. A cheeky grin, a sharp comment, a laugh that could shift the mood in a room, and a softness in his heart that he probably thought he was hiding better than he was. Aki was funny without needing to perform, warm without needing the spotlight, and loving in ways that often showed up quietly, through small gestures, little moments, and the way he simply made life feel lighter.

He could be stubborn, mischievous, clever, and impossible not to love. He had this gift of annoying you one minute, then making you laugh the next, until you forgot what you were even annoyed about. That was Aki. He carried light with him, even when life was heavy.

Family meant everything to him. He loved deeply, even when the words did not always come out perfectly. His bond with us was felt in the everyday moments, in the jokes, the conversations, the shared meals, the memories, and the kind of love that does not need to be explained because it was always there.

Aki’s life was far too short, and losing him has left a space in our family that nothing can fill. We feel it in the quiet moments, at family gatherings, in the jokes he would have made, in the songs, the stories, the places, and the memories that now make us smile and ache at the same time.

But Aki’s life was not small. His time here mattered. He touched more people than he probably ever realised, through his humour, his kindness, his loyalty, his cheekiness, and the warmth he carried into the lives of those around him.

As his family, we will miss him in ways words will never fully hold. We will miss laughing with him, arguing with him, hearing his voice, watching him grow, and imagining all the life still ahead of him. But we will also carry him with us always, not only in grief, but in love, pride, gratitude, and faith.

Aki will be deeply missed, fiercely loved, and forever remembered.

May he rest in eternal love and peace.

With all our love,
Tasesa, Anita, Bronson, Michael, Tessa, Emma and Isla
