Ioannis Spyralatos

I met Yanni not long after I came to this country, over 25 years ago. His daughter became my best friend, and before I knew it, I found myself spending so much time at their home. Since I came here for school without my family, Yanni and Zoe became my family away from home. I spent many holidays with them, and those memories will always hold such a special place in my heart. He treated me as one of his own and loved my children as if they were his grandchildren.
Yanni was a tough man with a soft heart. He cared deeply for those he loved and always showed it in his own way. His passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew him. We will always remember him as the strong-willed man with a big heart — someone who made everyone laugh, never hesitated to share his strong opinions, and brought a unique energy and presence wherever he went. He will be deeply missed, but the memories, laughter, and love he shared with us will remain forever.

Yanni and me were not related but he was always like my grandpa and always treated me like his own grandson, he was one of the most kind and loving man I ever knew we both shared a love for fishing, part of the reason I love fishing so much is because Yanni taught me how to fish. Yanni loved going on trips to cape cod and those trips with him were some of the best in my life. Not being related by blood never stopped Yanni from treating me like family and I will forever love him for that, my message to everyone is that you shouldn’t be sad someone is not with us anymore but rather be happy about the time they were here with us and what they did. Rest easy Yanni, I love you forever

I got to know John through his daughter, Zoe, while we were in nursing school. Because Zoe and I spent so much time together (struggling through school), I was lucky to get to know him.
He was always trying to convince me I was Greek, I'm Korean BTW, which always made me laugh! John was kind, loving, and welcomed everyone with those big hands and an even bigger heart. He adored babies and lovingly held my daughter many times when she was an infant.
Zoe reminded me that John considered me one of his daughters, a title I will always cherish. John was a joyful and spirited person, and I hope he is in heaven holding every baby with those big hands and loving heart. John, thank you for the wonderful memories and for your spirit! You will truly be missed!

May the Lord forgive john for any transgressions and grant him everlasting eternity in Heaven.
