Obituary

Chia Hyacinth Kwain was born on July 31, 1981, in Mmen, Northwest region of Cameroon. From an early age, he demonstrated an exceptional spirit of determination, discipline, and perseverance. He believed that hard work, integrity, and faith were the keys to success, values that guided every stage of his life. He completed his primary education at CS Bafmeng New Town, his secondary education at GSS Bafmeng and CCAST Bambili, and later pursued university studies in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Buea, Cameroon where he laid the foundation for a distinguished career in laboratory medicine.

Upon completing his studies, Hyacinth began his professional career as a medical laboratory scientist in Douala, Cameroon. Through dedication, competence, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, he quickly earned the confidence and respect of both colleagues and patients. His diligence and leadership led to his appointment as head of the Laboratory at St. Padre Pio Hospital, Akwa Nord, Douala, where he played a vital role in improving laboratory services, mentoring younger professionals, and promoting high standards of patient care.

Never one to settle for less, Hyacinth was driven by a relentless desire to grow both professionally and personally. With remarkable courage and endurance, he made the life-changing decision to relocate to Belgium to further his education. At the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), he earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences, a testament to his resilience and unwavering pursuit of knowledge. His academic achievements paved the way for a successful career in scientific research, where he served with distinction in several research organizations and biotechnology companies, most recently at BASF.

Hyacinth will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his remarkable work ethic, quiet strength, and determination to overcome every challenge. He inspired many through his resilience, humility, generosity, and steadfast belief that success is achieved through perseverance, continuous learning, and service to others. His life stands as a lasting example of what can be accomplished through faith, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to one's goals.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, three sons, siblings, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his love, kindness, and unwavering support. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his legacy of hard work, resilience, compassion, and excellence will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
