My Lady, Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso

I had the privilege of working under Hon. Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso for several years at the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, where she served as Chairman of the Governing Council from May 2018, the same year I was appointed Director/CEO. In all my years there, she remained a calm, loving, and deeply focused leader who brought maturity to everything.

My Lady was also a deeply caring person. There are so many things she did for me that I cannot write here for lack of space, but one I will never forget: during a difficult season when I received a frightening health diagnosis, she took it upon herself to walk with me through it. She brought me books on healing and sent a car and driver to take me to a service at Canaan Land, where she served as an usher, then personally took me to see Bishop Oyedepo, who encouraged me with the word and prayed for me. I just cannot forget that act of kindness and love.

She led with integrity, hard work, and a mother's heart, mentoring without ever needing to raise her voice. Even displeasure, from her, came gently: "I am surprised," she would say, and that was enough.

I last saw her in November 2025, and she smiled her usual beautiful smile. I did not know it would be the last time.

My Lady, you were simply a lovely person. Rest well in the bosom of the Lord. And to Uncle Wole and the children, may God comfort you at this difficult time and grant you the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Justice Mrs Oyefeso was an uncommon judge. Highly professional in handling litigation. She was punctual and excellent in time management. She manages affairs of litigants with upmost kindness and care . She would diligently allot different times for litigants to appear in her court thus avoiding undue stay in court room . Very very considerate human being. Her demise is a big loss to our nation because we do not have many of her types . She made going to a court a delight .Her good deeds will linger in the minds of those who passed through her court. May the Lord comfort her family and loved ones , and perfect all that concern them .And may her soul rest in perfect peace.

In 2016, Hon Justice Josephine Oyefeso was part of a high powered Nigerian Judicial delegation that visited South Korea. I was the leader of that distinct group and she deputized for me. I and other members of the group got to know her deeply during that trip. As we finished our tour and came back we continued to relate with one another in the group. She was very active in the group. We were taken aback when we heard of her death. My Lord was a very caring and unassuming lady. Always ready to lend a helping hand when she could. To say we will miss her is an understatement. We would have wished that she continued with us for a much longer period but we cannot question God. We pray that the good Lord will comfort her dear husband and children. We pray as a group that her gentle soul rests in perfect peace

Dcns Oyefeso! It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute.

As I reflect on your transition to glory, so many memories come flooding back. I remember your faithful service to the Kingdom in various capacities, our time serving together on the CU Board of Regents, and the covenant friendship and family bond we developed over the years.

While my heart grieves your absence, I find comfort and joy in the assurance of God's Word that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You fought the good fight, you kept the faith, and you finished your race well. As a believer, that is my greatest consolation.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Christ, your genuine friendship, and the impact you made in the lives of so many. Your works will continue to speak, and the legacy you have left behind will endure for generations to come.

Sleep well, my covenant friend, until we meet again in the presence of our Lord.

Rest in glory. - LBO

In Loving Memory of a dear Mummy.

I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of your sudden passing, especially since we shared time together in our Cell Fellowship on April 11, just before my travels out of town. I find comfort in knowing that you lived a truly meaningful and impactful life;

*A life poured out in service to God in spite of here position in public service*:From the harvest field to the prayer altar, she devoted herself to serving God and humanity as if every act were a hymn of gratitude to the One she loved. Her hands were always ready to help, her feet eager to bring comfort, and her heart powerful in mercy.

*Humility that reflected the Christ*: She carried a humility that was not a posture but a spirit — meekness , steady, and unassuming. She taught us that true greatness in God’s kingdom is found in quiet obedience, in choosing others’ needs above our own, and in letting Christ’s light shine through a life that points beyond to the Giver of all good gifts.

*A legacy of love for all people*: She moved through life as a steadfast friend and caregiver, never turning away from anyone in need. She saw Christ in every face, offered a listening ear, a comforting word, and practical help, and embodied the command to love one another with sincerity and tenderness.

*A faithful steward until the last day**: Even on the days when burdens grew heavy, her faith remained bright, anchored in prayer and Scripture. She greeted each moment as another opportunity to declare the mercy of God, to extend grace, and to remind those around her that our time here is a sacred stewardship.

*A profound impact on a community* :Her presence within our church, our neighborhoods, and our cell was a steady reminder of what it means to follow Jesus with authenticity. She built bridges where there were divides, encouraged the weary, and inspired hope by living out the gospel with consistency and joy.

A celebration of eternal companionship*:Though we mourn her loss, we rejoice that she now rests in the presence of her Saviour where there is no more pain, and every promise is fulfilled. May the memory of her life stir us to deeper faith, more intentional, fearless love, and a life that mirrors Christ to a watching world.

A personal note to honour Deaconess memory**: To the mother who walked beside us with Christ as her compass, thank you for your prayers that lifted us, your hospitality that welcomed us, your encouragement that strengthened us, your care and share that fed us and your unwavering faith that pointed us heavenward.

May God grant us the grace to continue the work you began and to keep your lamp burning until we meet you in the light of His glorious presence.

I have circled this page for days in disbelief and quiet but thankful reflections. Whilst I have known the pain of the departure of a loved one, it really cannot be compared with what every other person goes through. Each person's journey is unique and different. Yet one thing remains constant, true and real - the comfort of the Father.

I met Sis Kumbi a couple of decades ago at Christ Chapel and a few things struck and stayed with me about her - her faith in Christ (deep, strong and unshakable), her calmness which had a cloak of approachable firmness, her radiant beauty that shone from within her soul and her professionalism. I admired her from afar and up close.

Thank you for modelling Christ and His peace that's enduring. We will miss you, I will miss you.

Pray the comfort of the Father for all the Oyefesos, Sho-Silvas, all loved ones, friends, colleagues and the church.

Till we meet at His throne room, sleep well Sweet Sis.

FARE THEE WELL JUSTICE EFUNKUMBI OYEFESO!

Hmmmmm! The shock is still there for all to bear but we are consoled by the fact that you are in a better place where pain and death shall sting no more.
You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course and have kept the faith. There is therefore laid up for you a crown of righteousness. 11 Tim. 4:7.
You came, you saw, you conquered and left your footprints in the sands of time in the Lagos State Judiciary and your Church where you served passionately and diligently until it was time to stop.
Your humility is second to none and everyone has something good to say about you.
I still remember the day you called me when I was the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Lagos State just to encourage me.
We all mourn your loss.
May the good Lord grant your family, colleagues and friends the fortitude to bear your irreplaceable loss in Jesus Name.
Sleep well beloved!

Tribute to my lord, The Hon. Justice Efunkunbi Oyefeso.

My memory of her will always be of a gentle soul of quiet disposition, yet never one to be overlooked. She carried a quiet presence, but one that brought steadiness into the room. Of gentle manner, firm conviction and totally unassuming, she was approachable, diligent and related with quiet dignity and respect that is indelible.

I have pondered on what more time together would have meant, what closer ties, frequent calls to her with offers to help would have done, but I always arrive at the same conclusion. A knowing smile in appreciation, but a mien that conveyed her unyielding belief in God's faithfulness and His sufficiency. Time shared in her company now appears too short, but it was rich, calming, enlightening, refreshing and good. It was quality time enhanced by her humble, courteous professionalism and grace.

She was at peace with God, was true to her oath, steadfast in her duties, and as was her nature, she slipped away quietly but left us with just enough to appreciate her presence - her goodness and positive impact.

May her gentle soul rest in peace and may God comfort all who mourn her loss. Amen.

How could I ever forget your love, your care, your steady support, and your warm advice?
You were more than a mentor to me. You were my foster mother. You orchestrated the path that made me a Lagos State staff.
I still remember how you celebrated me when I shared that I graduated with a First Class in Applied Mathematics. Your words rang out:
"Wow! Hearty congratulations, Sola! Excellent! I am so proud of you! Keep soaring! Keep flying high! Congratulations!"
I also remember how you celebrated my mom on her retirement last year — the thoughtful gift, the heartfelt prayers still linger.
Your sudden passing left a vacuum that nothing can fill.
Yet in it all, we say, Thank You Lord for the beautiful life you lived and the legacy you left behind.
Your foster son will keep holding on to that legacy.
A great loss for us here on earth,
A great gain for the saints in heaven.
Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord Almighty, my ever amazing foster mother,
Honourable Justice Josephine kumbi Oyefeso.

A Friend, Sister and Co Steward.
Our paths crossed more than two decades ago, then you worked in the Faith Tabernacle Ushers office, not as a leader, but as one of those that cleaned the office, you served with grace and humility for many months until it was discovered that you were a High Court Judge.

Fast forward to 2010 when we were separated by grace to serve as leaders in the Faith Tabernacle Ushering Unit, of the three separated for this assignment you are the eldest, and served as the secretary, while the youngest served as the Head, again I watched you serve with respect, grace and humility. In 2012, I was privileged to serve as the Head, and you served as the assistant, I testify to your humility, loyalty, faithfulness, diligence, love and care.

Sometimes in 2014 when my wife’s health was challenged, you are one of the few I shared my concern with, you stood with the family in prayers, faith and constantly encouraged us until the challenge became a testimony. Until you transited to glory, each time we speak you never failed to ask after my wife (your sister) and the Children. You joined us in celebrating the success of the children and compared notes on phases of their growth and development.

On my kingdom stewardship journey, you are one of the few reliable faith partner God arranged on my path, together we had so many counseling and mentoring sessions for many and by His grace testimonies abound. Despite your busy schedule, you never turned down a request for your attention or time when the need arises.

Rest on in the bosom of the Lord my beloved Sister. A good fight you fought, you kept the faith and finished the race. 2 Tim 4:7

I met Kunbi through my friend kemi Adefolu over 40years ago and she came across as a quiet lady who smiled a lot.I remember visiting their home once in Yaba with kemi and i could tell immediately she was a God fearing woman with the amount of scriptures that she quoted that day.
Later on,it was her husband Mr.Wolex that became
more of my friend though Kunbi called me for the
occasional fascinators. When my daughter now got
into Lifeforte,i started talking more with Kunbi and
sought her advice on a few issues. She handed my
daughter to Tamilore her son who was a senior then
at Lifeforte and told him to always look out for her
and make sure she wasnt bullied.
She had been on my mind at least for a week before
she passed.I wanted to let her know that my daughter
would also be graduating in June from Lifeforte.I
remember sending her a message once that she had been on my mind and she responded that i should say a prayer for her anytime she she crossed my mind.

At the visiting day in May,i kept thinkin g about her again and made a mental note to call her on sunday but alas! it was that sunday i heard she had passed on
to glory on the friday ! I was in shock! and pained!
Kunbi is in a better place. She has finished her own race and a crown of righteousness is laid up for her
which the only righteous judge will award to her.
She is rejoicing with the heavenly angels.
Well done!mi Lord! Good and faithful servant!

With heartfelt sorrow, yet in total submission to the sovereign will of GOD, we celebrate the glorious home call and beautiful transition of our beloved Hon. Justice (Dcns.) Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso.

She was a rare gem—a virtuous woman of grace, dignity, and profound intellect, who balanced the scales of justice on earth while keeping her eyes firmly fixed on eternity. In Loving Memory of Sister K 💕
(Mrs Efunkumbi Josephine Oyefeso:Nee Sho-Silva)

Sister K was my best friend’s big sister, but she was also a big sister to me in every sense of the word. She was always good-natured, approachable, humble, and effortlessly fashionable in such a demure and classy way.

I fondly called her “Justice,” and she lovingly called me “Aunty Simply Fun,” a nickname that always brought a smile to my face and reminded me of my business journey. Those little exchanges are memories I will forever cherish.

I am deeply saddened by her passing, but I am grateful for the beautiful legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, commitment, and genuine care for others. Her warmth touched many lives, and her impact will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

My deepest condolences go to my darling bestie, Kunle, who shared such a special bond with her and all her dear siblings. I also lift her husband Pastor Wole and Children Tish, Tito, Tami, and the entire family in prayer, trusting God to comfort, strengthen, and keep them during this difficult time.

A Tribute to Hon Justice Oyefeso . 1st June 2026

It is with a sense of great loss but with gratitude to God that our parts crossed in life that I write this Tribute.

I met our dear sister in 2021 very early after her. appointment to the bench with the rest of her colleagues. I was still a Director in the commercial law Directorate in the Ministry of Justice then , but had the privilege to be part of the team that assisted with ensuring the smooth running M’lords induction training sessions packaged by the Lagos State Attorney Genera as he then was in 2021 .

At the time Kumbi J stood out as a humble nice and very respectful . Years later following my own appointment to the bench she was still the same lovely courteous smiling Kumbi.
It wasn’t until my retirement in 2020 that I had the privilege of knowing her closely. She gave me a lovely Bible which I cherished till today for my Retirement and 65th birthday at the time . With time she began to share her Writings on Musings with me . Until I received the 1st day of May 2026, edition of Musings at 12. 42. Pm I never suspected she was the Author of such excellent words . I was richly blessed and encouraged by the words she shared .
I looked forward to the versions of the 2nd week in May and when it did not arrive I knew I just had to see her . Thank
God I was privileged to see her during that period. Kumbi J was completely at peace with herself towards the end.
May did turn out to be a special month , for not just for her family but for all those who loved kumbi. May has been a Month of serious reflection.
Kumbi was such a lovely and caring sister. She would go out of her way to encourage and to bless others. Her write ups on Musings were ever so apt and excellently referenced with the Word of God . She remained strong to the end . I recall that on the 1st day of May she asked God in her write up on
Musings which I had the privilege to receive , what had to be done to sustain his goodness in her family’s life. A question she herself was wuick to answer.
I have no doubt, in my mind , that because Kumbi J had served God and humanity so diligently and faithfully ; that goodness and mercy will continue to follow her family all the days of their life .
I thank God that she fulfilled God’s purpose for her life . Rest on in peace darling sister.
May God comfort your family and loved ones as only he can; and grant them the peace that passes all understand ing.

‘The memory of the righteous is a blessing’ Proverbs 10:7.
Without doubt Milady distinguished herself on the bench. She exemplified integrity, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law and humanity.
She was gracious and humble.
She definitely left her footprints in the sands of time.
While we mourn this great loss, let us celebrate a life well lived, a career honorably spent in service to God and humanity.
She is no doubt resting in the bosom of her Lord and maker.
May the good Lord comfort her family, friends, loved ones and colleagues IJMN.

TRIBUTE TO HON. JUSTICE JOSEPHINE EFUNKUMBI OYEFESO.
CELEBRATING A LIFE OF PURPOSE, SERVICE, AND ENDURING IMPACT

It is with deep sadness, yet profound gratitude to God, that I pay tribute to our dear colleague, friend, and sister, Hon. Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso.
Her passing is a great loss, not only to her family and the Lagos State Judiciary, but also to the the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, an institution to which she devoted considerable passion, vision, and leadership.

I had the privilege of succeeding her as Chairman of the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse, and in doing so, I came to appreciate even more the remarkable foundation she helped to build. As Chairman of the LMDC and Head of the ADR Division, she provided exemplary leadership during a period of growth and transformation.
Justice Oyefeso was a woman of foresight who understood that the future of dispute resolution required innovation, adaptability, and the effective deployment of technology. Her contributions in advancing innovation and technology within the ADR space were immense and far-reaching. She embraced progressive ideas, encouraged institutional development, and supported initiatives that strengthened the efficiency, accessibility, and relevance of the LMDC in an ever-evolving world. There is no doubt that her passing has created a vacuum within the ADR Community.
One of her most admirable qualities was her attention to detail. She believed that excellence was found not only in grand achievements but also in the careful handling of the smallest matters. Nothing escaped her attention. Whether in judicial work, institutional administration, policy development, or ADR practice, she approached every responsibility with diligence, precision, and professionalism.
Beyond her accomplishments, she was a woman of faith, integrity, wisdom, and grace. She served with distinction, led with humility, and inspired many through her commitment to justice and service.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the institution she helped to strengthen, and the innovations she championed. Future generations of ADR practitioners and judicial officers will continue to benefit from the seeds she planted and the vision she pursued.
While we mourn her departure, we celebrate a life of purpose, service, and enduring impact.
May the Lord comfort her beloved husband, children, and all who mourn her passing. May her memory remain a blessing, and may her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

A Tribute to Justice Kunbi Oyefeso

It is with a deep sense of loss that I write this tribute.

I got to know Justice ‘Kumbi Oyefeso, in the early nineties, when we both worked in the banking industry. She in First Interstate Merchant Bank and I in Royal Merchant Bank. We interacted occasionally in money market dealings. Many years later, after she had become a Judge, I was delighted to see her again at the Lagos MultiDoor Court house, with me as a Neutral. It was remarkable to note that certain things still remained the same about her through the years. Her simplicity, quiet and friendly disposition, humility, willingness to help and dedication to work.

She was the epitome of grace, kindness, humility, gentleness and simplicity. She always carried herself with a quiet dignity.

She was always very supportive of our firm Oakwell Partners’ Mediation conferences, such that she willingly agreed to be a speaker at one of the conferences.

Her legacy of humility, quiet strength, simplicity and kindness, live on.

May her beautiful and gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Tribute to my friend Kunbi

It is with deep sadness that I write this tribute to the memory of my friend Kunbi, a truly beautiful soul whose passing has left a great void in our hearts.

Kunbi & I have known each other for as long as i can remember.I think our mothers worked together as nurses. We also went to school in Somerset together with a host of other Nigerians.
And even then, she stood out as someone special. She was a genuinely lovely person — gentle in spirit, kind in heart, and graceful in the way she treated everyone around her. She carried herself with quiet strength and warmth that made people feel valued and at ease in her presence.
What I admired most about her was her unwavering Christian faith. She lived as a true Christian, not just in words but through her actions — showing love, humility, compassion, and kindness to all who knew her. Her faith shone through the way she lived her life and the way she touched others with sincerity and grace.
She was the kind of friend whose gentle nature left a lasting impression. Her calm presence, caring heart, and beautiful character will always be remembered by those of us who were blessed to know her.
Though it is painful to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her life was a testimony of faith and goodness. Her memory will continue to live on in my hearts, and her legacy of kindness will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, dear Kunbi

You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I’m thankful to God for having met Pastor Kunbi. I Called her, Yomi and Kunle Girl my Sisters and kept planning hang outs with all 3 together.
What a phenomenal Woman.

I chose her as my Counselor, she just exudes calmness, wisdom and sheer generosity. I always disturbed her after her prayers and she sends the scriptures that I take with me in the week.

I remember last year my passport was stuck in the embassy for Schengen, and I needed to travel urgently. She also was waiting for her’s to be able to visit Tami. She took a bold step of faith, one early morning to the Embassy and by afternoon she got her passport with the visa. She inspires uncommon faith and Positivity.

Last year, April, saw her on You Tube, presenting a bouquet of Flowers to Mummy Faith Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, I told her I didn’t know she was so deep in Winners o. Anyway, I have since been getting links to their programs.

“The things we say today are seeds bringing harvests for our tommorrow” Amen! Hmmmmm.
(Culled from her Musings and my response)

Pastor Kunbi, a true and rare General of The Lord God Almighty, we would miss your 6am prayers, Tuesdays and Thursdays, but we are encouraged and convinced you are resting peacefully in the bosom of The Lord God. AWOGM is surely missing this Exceptional woman of God. A rare Gem! Your Life, Love and Legacy lives on. Rest on our dearest Pastor K.🙏🏽

6am found me looking forward to prayer at the Lord’s feet, it was because you led it. When suddenly I didn’t hear you, I missed hearing you and wondered. I thought it was a shift change and you’d be back. Another lesson in not taking anything for granted. You soothed my mornings and helped start my day right. We will meet again at the feet of God Who has called you to higher service. Rest well Pastor Kumbi, AMEN 🙏🏾

I honor and celebrate the life of my darling Mummy O, as I fondly called her, a woman whose life exemplified faith, humility, generosity, and service to humanity.

Mummy did not just speak about Christ; she lived Him. She touched countless lives, including mine. She counseled me through some of life’s most important decisions, from choosing a location for graduate studies and a career path to finding a life partner.

One of the greatest gifts she gave me was her constant encouragement. Her Musings from the Secret Place, which she faithfully shared almost every day, were a source of strength and spiritual nourishment. She also checked on me regularly and always made me feel loved and valued.

Mummy believed in me. She encouraged me, prayed for me, and celebrated my successes as though I were her own daughter. I will always cherish the many trips we took together visiting members of our house fellowship, where she served as House Fellowship Leader and I as Secretary. She never visited anyone empty handed and always had a gift for every person we met. That lesson will stay with me forever. Her generosity reflected the love of Christ that filled her heart.

She also never forgot me whenever she traveled, always returning with a thoughtful gift, a reminder of her love and care.

Though I will miss her, I rejoice in knowing that she is now with Jesus, whom she loved and served faithfully throughout her life.

Thank you, Mummy, for everything. Your legacy lives on in me and in the countless other lives you touched, and I am forever grateful to have been one of them. Rest well in the presence of your Savior until we meet again.

Her life of service, leadership and faith inspired many people, but beyond her achievements, I will remember her for the person she was and for the kindness and generosity she extended so naturally. I will remember her as a woman whose values were reflected both in her professional life and in the lives of the family she nurtured with so much love.

Thank you for your warmth, for welcoming me into your family and for the difference you made in the lives of those around you. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

May your soul rest in perfect peace, and may the Lord grant you eternal rest in His heavenly kingdom.

*Tribute to Pastor Kumbi*

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Pastor Kumbi in person, through Zoom it felt as though I knew her personally.

She possessed a rare gift. Though she prayed for many, her prayers felt deeply personal, as if she were speaking directly to your heart and gently leading you into the presence of God. Through her words, faith was strengthened, burdens became lighter, and God felt very near.

Pastor Kumbi’s prayers were thoughtful, sincere, and filled with compassion. She had a beautiful way of helping people connect with God, not through performance, but through genuine intimacy with Him.

Her life reflected the very prayers she prayed—faith, wisdom, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and a deep love for people.

Though her passing has left a void, her impact remains. The countless lives she encouraged, comforted, and inspired will continue to bear witness to a life well lived and faithfully poured out in service to God.

Thank you, Pastor Kumbi, for reminding us that prayer is not merely speaking to God, but drawing others closer to Him.

You will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Thanking God for giving us all the opportunity to know you

I pray you continue to enjoy your new home
Amen

Tribute to a faithful servant of God and nation

I honour a lovely woman who lived a life of faithful service to our beloved nation, and above all, devoted service in the Kingdom of God. Your life was anchored on the love of Christ, marked by obedience, humility, and a testimony worthy of emulation.

I recall the message I sent to you on your last birthday, which I believe was read to you: “Your service as an Honourable Justice of the Lagos High Court, together with your unwavering dedication to God and His work, continues to inspire me and, without doubt, many others.” You were deeply admired, more than you may have ever known.

Your life was fruitful, meaningful, and well lived. You ran your race with courage, dignity, integrity, and the fear of God. Your departure is painful, yet we rest in the peace and hope of eternal life in Christ. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

The legacy of goodness you have left behind lives on. When a life is lived with integrity, kindness, and unwavering faith, it continues to bring comfort and inspiration to those who remain. We are truly comforted and strengthened by your life of truth and obedience to Christ. “The memory of the righteous is a blessing” (Proverbs 10:7).

The truth remains that worldly fame and material wealth will fade, but the quiet acts of faith, love, and service to God endure forever. Your godly influence will continue to speak long after you, because “their works follow them” (Revelation 14:13).

I pray for your beloved husband, your precious children, and your dear siblings. May the Lord Himself be their comfort and strength in this season of deep sorrow. May He uphold them with His righteous right hand, surround them with His peace that passes all understanding, and fill their hearts with the assurance of eternal hope in Christ Jesus. May they find refuge in God, who is close to the brokenhearted, and may His grace carry them through each day, in Jesus’ name.

Sis K, Milord, Pastor Kumbi, I will deeply miss your presence, your contributions, and your prayers during fellowship. You will always be remembered with gratitude and love as an “Anointed Woman of God.”

Until we meet again at the feet of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, rest well, faithful servant of God.

Lovingly and fondly remembered by,
Enitan Rewane.

Pastor Kumbi Oyefeso
A child of God . Daughter of ZIon. Handmaiden of the Lord. Woman of the Word. A Woman of grace and poise

Distinguished yet humble and gentle. A woman of integrity.

The first time I spoke with Pastor Kumbi was at Pastor Tinuke's father's service of songs a few years back. I just said "good evening my lady ". She wondered who I was and asked Yomi . Who is that lady.? Yomi mentioned my name , which she heard at our various fellowship meetings , just like I heard hers too. She spoke at fellowship meetings with strong conviction of her faith in the Word and love of God.

She attended every exhibition I had and always bought adire from me. She continued to buy even beyond the exhibition.

I visited her once in her home and we discussed the need to have a healthy lifestyle.. I followed her advice for a while . I will surely surely continue by the grace of God

She ran her race to the finish.

Rest in the Lords bosom dear Pastor Kumbi.

TRIBUTE TO HON. JUSTICE JOSEPHINE EFUNKUMBI OYEFESO

The announcement of your passing came like a thunderbolt. It was shocking, sudden and unexpected. The body of Judges had only recently celebrated your 65th birthday, not knowing that you would soon leave us.

We had our meeting on Thursday, 14th May, and when I did not see you there, I asked Justice Oyebanji about your whereabouts. She advised that I should send a message to you, which I did on Friday, not knowing that you had passed on that same day.

My Lady, you were calm, composed, brilliant, and deeply graceful. You were a distinguished jurist and a beautiful daughter of Zion. You served humanity on the Bench and, as a servant of God, touched many lives positively.

Your passing has created a profound vacuum in your family, among your brother Judges, within the Church, and in the wider community. Your absence will be deeply felt by all whose lives you touched. We shall miss your daily prayers, your sweet smile, your warmth, your reassuring presence and your invaluable contributions to the Bench and the Church.

As we mourn your departure, we take solace in your good deeds and in your legacy of honour, integrity and compassion. You came, you saw, and you conquered. I believe that you are resting in the Lord.

My dear brother, Mr. Wole Oyefeso, please take solace in the fact that you had the privilege of caring for our beloved sister while she was with us. You stood by her like the Rock of Gibraltar. We cannot query God, for the Bible says in Isaiah 57 Verses 1-2 thus- "1.The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart, the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. 2. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death". May the Lord console you, Tish, Tito and Tami.

Adieu Efunkumbi, my beloved sister. Rest in the bosom of the Lord.

From,
Hon. Justice Olabisi Akinlade.

Glory to God for this humble daughter of the Most High God .
The few lines am about to pen down are what had been in my mind the first day I met Pastor K as we usually called her .
It's really not how long you meet people but the great impact their life makes to your life. .
I met Pst. K about two and half years ago as a member of AWOGM and as a fellow intercessor - she was in the 6am watch . She was a gently soul and a woman of deep prayer.
The words of her prayers were humbly , very clearly and deeply stated and right on time -10mins .
However, something Spiritually strange happened to me about 10days or so before the sad announcement of her demise. At her 6am watch , the voice that I was hearing in prayer was divine (the best way to describe it ,again with hindsight) and I had to quickly check the platform to confirm that , she was the person praying. Of course, indeed it was Pst. K . The sound of that voice, that prayer didn't leave for a while .
When I then heard the sad news , my spirit immediately reminded me of that encounter and I concluded immediately that she was then with us only in the flesh at that time but already translated 😳. Glory to God Almighty .
Pst.K , you have indeed made Ecclesiastes 7:2 a realty for me. It states " It is better to go into a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting , for death is the destiny of everyone; the living MUST TAKE NOTE. I must now apply God's divine wisdom to whatever am doing - love God and His word passionately , love others intentionally, be compassionate, kind , bear others burden to fulfil the law of Christ ; utilise my time, my resources and my talents wisely to serve God and others because I do not know when His appointed for me will come .
Pst. K you have done all and finished brilliantly. I believe without any shadow of doubt in my mind that you are now resting from all your labours as God's daughter , wife , mother , sister , dedicated member of the Winners Church , AWOGM, other fellowship groups and in your legal profession where you served meticulously without any stains to your God ordained character .
Great job done sister 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽 .
Pst. K when our Lord and Saviour returns, we will meet again as Saints- this is worth waiting for .
Before then , continue your well deserved rest in the Lord , our dear beloved. Your family members , friends and everyone you left behind are also resting in the Comfort of our God and its granting us His peace , love, healing , strength and encouragement to continue to endure the pains of your absence from us .
Father God, we continue to thank you for who You are and who You have made to to be . Glory , honour and adoration to You in Jesus mighty name . Amen.

I met Sis Kumbi around 2017/2018 at a salon in GRA Ikeja, and we just engaged in random conversation. She radiated a warmth and humility that belied her status. As we spoke, we discovered we shared in common, the same alma mater and that her son, Tito, too was at the time, the latest addition to our ranks. That common ground created an instant bond between us and we exchanged numbers and stayed in touch reminding one another of any upcoming Alumni events.

A few years later, when I joined AWOGM I always looked forward to her speak, whether sharing words of wisdom or offering her thoughtful insights during Bible Study. Often, I would call her afterwards just to appreciate her for her remarkable analysis.

When my mum passed last year, Sis Kumbi went out of her way to visit my family and I in London. She prayed with me, comforted me and even took time to counsel my daughter, Adekemi, about her career. She checked in on me regularly and even supported me financially. Her kindness was constant and deeply felt.

I am grateful for the special moments we shared together. I recall when she joined Kunle and I for lunch at Nok, the day we spent bowling in London, with Awogm sisters last year. It really was a beautiful day, in addition to bowling (she was first on the leaderboard) she also joined in the singing and dancing. I am also thankful for the last time I got to see her on New Year’s Day, she was in very good spirits. The memories of her warmth and kindness will always remain precious to me.

I am blessed to have known her. She truly lived a life of impact. she led a life of service. Thank You, Lord for the work You entrusted to her in AWOGM, as a 6am Watcher and a member of the Counselling Team. Thank You for the wisdom she consistently shared during Bible Study and also her Musings from the Secret Place, which have all deeply blessed and impacted my life.

Sis Kumbi lived wholeheartedly for God. I have no doubt that heaven has gained a very gentle and beautiful soul. I look forward to the day we will once again fellowship in eternity.

Dear dear Pastor K!

Kind, gentle, fiercely diligent, devoted daughter of The Most High. You had such a sweet, serene spirit. You didn’t say much, but your strength of character and depth of wisdom shone through undeniably. Your interactions with me were always so gracious, so gentle, so worthy of emulation. Ah Pastor K, I can hardly believe I’m writing a tribute to you.

Thank you for choosing a way of life which has become a sound example for us whom you’ve left behind. You raised the bar o, Pastor K! You did everything well. Your fingerprints linger in every sphere you were involved in. Family, work, ministry - you were exceptionally impactful at it all.

Hmm! As Pastor Wole said, we were in the presence of greatness and we didn’t quite recognise it. Now we do!

May the beautiful memories you left behind always be a blessing to your beautiful family and all your loved ones. May The Lord wrap His love and comfort around every hurting heart even as we thank Him for the precious gift of you.

Rest well, dear Pastor Kumbi. You are sorely missed. Enjoy your highly bejewelled crowns in your finest of mansions in the great beyond. We may remember you with pain for now but in time, we will reminisce with great gratitude and joy for having known you.

Rest well, my dear AWOGM sister. Rest in eternal peace in the bosom of The Lord you loved so dearly and served so well. You’re forever in our hearts.

Much love always,

TRIBUTE In Honor of HON. JUSTICE JOSEPHINE EFUNKUNBI OYEFESO🕊️

My lady, its hard to find words to qualify how i felt when i heard of your demise on that beautiful sunday afternoon. It was a sad moment. Now without you around, everywhere seems quieter.

Milady you came to this world as a destiny child. You came, you saw, you conquered and you left your footprint in the sands of time. You touched the life of everyone that has contact with you positively. Your earthly achievement are too numerous to be forgotten. You however left too soon to be with your creator. You demise is indeed an Heaven's gain

You brought light to our lagos state judiciary — with your kindness, your steady help, and your caring heart. These attributes endeared people to you.

Your home, Court/chamber and church feels quieter without your laughter, your "are you okay"?, but we take solace in the fact that your in a better place A true daughter of Zion. You will sorely be missed here on earth. But your service to church of God and service to humanity in your capacity as presiding Judge speaks louder: you care for people, show up for others, do work with integrity, dignity, decorum highly becoming of a member of hallowed chamber. They are all etched in our memory.

Thank you for every smile, every hand you lent, every day you made better just by being here for those who know you, love you and cherish you.

Gone out of sight but never from our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear big sister Hon Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso nee Sho - Silva. You’ll always have a place in our hearts.

A Tribute to a Lady of Quiet Grace and Enduring Light-Hon. Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso (Nee Sho-Silva)

It is with a heavy heart that I try to put into words a Tribute for a friend of over five decades. Half a century of shared laughter and quiet understanding.

From our Ikoyi days, her family on Thompson Avenue and mine on Rumens Road, visiting and enduring the very strong handshake and jokes of Her dad Major General Sho-Silva and the quiet mien of her dear mum. Life was so much simpler and family oriented in those days.

I will remember her gentle smile, the one that made you feel completely safe. I will also remember her gentle personality (which was not to be taken for granted).

She was, in every sense, an eminent jurist. But she wore her brilliance and her accomplishments with such humility that you often forgot the weight of the robes she wore in court.
Her calm and quiet nature was not an absence of passion, but rather her deepest form of strength.
But to me, she was never ‘the judge.’ She was simply Kumbi.

To the family she left behind, you remain her living legacy. She poured every bit of her beautiful heart into each of you. There is no other way to navigate this loss but to hold on tight to each other.

To all her friends, old and new, we have lost a rare soul. Let us honor her by being a little more gentle with one another, a little more patient, a little more quick to listen and slow to judge. That is what she would have wanted. That is how she lived.

Rest now, my dearest friend. Your work here is done, and it was done beautifully. Thank you for fifty years of your calmness, your warmth, and your quiet, steady light. You will be missed beyond words, but you will never, ever be forgotten. Clearly, you have gone to your Father’s House where He has prepared to receive you John 14:2-3

Until we meet again Kumbi, rest in perfect peace and may your memory continue to be a blessing Amen 🙏🏽

JUSTICE..............Hon. Justice (Dcns) Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso (Nee Sho-Silva)

What can we say? Our dear Justice is gone, musings from the secret place has stopped and we're pained. We've been together for almost 12 years serving as Mummy's Ushers (from Aug 2014 till date).

We're still in shock at the news of your transition. You were our role model, the epitome of humility, service personified.

You were always there, a constant in your service in His vineyard, in the rain, in the sun, when convenient and when not convenient.
You took everything in your stride, never angry, always smiling, looking at us from atop your glasses when we need to adjust, and with a word of prayer for every situation that we've found ourselves these past years.

You were a silent pillar of strength, a Jesus lover and you took your assignment with all seriousness. We don't understand why it had to happen this way, but God does and our comfort comes from Him.

We will miss you on this side of the divide. Please rest on at the bosom of your maker where we will meet again.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of her family and friends.

I encourage her family and friends to take solace in the fact that her life was an expression of dignity. It is my prayer that God will give you fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss

TRIBUTE TO OUR DARLING WIFE, KUMBI
Why does God allow good people to depart us so early? For Kumbi was a good woman. Ever since she came into our family, Wole, her husband is my first cousin, she had radiated goodness, kindness, friendliness and most especially humility. She was for ever smiling depicting her beauty. As she was beautiful externally, so she was inside.
When Wole introduced her to me, I was taken in by her simplicity and respectful demeanor. She won my heart the more when I got to learn the role she played in their becoming a married couple. There was no doubt that she was truly in love with Wole as she put her foot down and settled for love. This demonstrated her resolve, strength of character and intention. It is thus no surprise to me she became a fearless and respected judge as she had shown her character of steel as early as then.
Now that you are no longer with us in this realm, I am sure you are at the bosom of our Lord and you will be a guidance angel to Oluwatiseyitan, Oluwatitoni and Oluwatamilore; and an advocate extraordinaire to your Wole.

I remember the first time I met Justice. It was at Elf’s Zone of Winners Chapel. I met her and her sister, and they were so warm and welcoming. We were discussing transportation for the zone, and from there, to the glory of God, she took a liking to me.

Justice truly showed me what it meant to have a big sister. She was someone I confided in deeply, and she taught me so much about marriage and about life. I would always call her for counsel — always, always. She carried herself with such dignity, integrity, honesty, and loyalty. She was a servant of God in every sense of the word.

If humility were a person, it would be Justice Orofeso.

Even in things such as my children’s birthdays, she was there. Any event I invited her to, she showed up for me. She showed me so much love. For someone of her caliber to treat a younger person like me with such warmth and respect was something that always amazed me. I often wondered how she was able to remain so humble and so genuine.

Justice was an example of what a human being should be. She saw people beyond their status or position. She treated everyone with kindness, dignity, and humanity.

I know so well that she is in heaven, smiling down on us. And I pray that the Lord will continue to keep her husband and children, comforting and strengthening them greatly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank you.

Pastor Kumbi truly lived what she preached. She was gentle, quiet, and calm, yet a true firebrand for Christ. Her life reflected humility, grace, love, and unwavering devotion to God. She carried the presence of God with such simplicity and dignity that anyone who encountered her could see Christ in her.

I remember vividly when she moved into her house and called me to do her furniture. Throughout the entire process, she was gracious, kind, and appreciative. That was who she was — thoughtful and full of warmth.

She was also incredibly generous. During my daughter’s wedding, she lovingly sent support to me. That act of kindness spoke volumes about her heart. Even as a Justice, she lived an exceptional life marked by humility and compassion. She never carried herself with pride, but with gentleness and sincerity.

Oh, how I will miss her — especially her 6 a.m. watch prayers. Her voice saying, “Thank You Father, that we slept and we awoke,” will forever remain in my memory. Those prayers brought strength, comfort, and reassurance to so many lives.

Indeed, blessed are the memories of the righteous, and blessed are Pastor Kumbi’s memories. Her legacy of faith, humility, generosity, and devotion to Christ will continue to speak for generations.

Sleep well, dear beautiful Sis, until we meet again in glory.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

The news of your departure came to me suddenly. It's still so hard to believe you're gone. It never crossed my imagination that this will happen. Just a while ago we celebrated your birthday. It feels so surreal.... One minute we're celebrating another year, next minute I'm writing a tribute. We judge God FAITHFUL! .
I'm so privileged to have met you and I appreciate how you drew me closer. I celebrate a life spent well on earth. One that motivated me well about you, is how you took the things of God personally. Your heart to service is second to non. You were a dedicated woman of God with humility. You were one sweet, loving soul. Without a doubt, we lost a great soul in the ushering unit..

You will be greatly missed but your legacy remains. Good night, mama

What a Heavenly gain

Without a doubt, we have lost a great soul in the church of God and in the judiciary.

I have worked closely with Deaconess Kunbi Oyefeso for the past 5 years in the Ushering group of Faith Tabernacle.
Hon. Justice Kunbi Oyefeso was a personification of humility,
Very dedicated, decent, and modest.
She served in the vineyard of God to the last. She lived a life of impact—a mentor to many.
It is my prayer that God will comfort the family, the Ushers, and indeed the church of God as a whole.

Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:9, which her husband enunciated to those of us who paid a condolence visit to the family: “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
Let us imbibe every virtue and character she exhibited in her lifetime, which many people have spoken so glowingly of. This is one of the ways we can immortalize her and keep her memory alive.

The Righteous never dies but sleeps;1Thes 4:13-14
May God rest her beautiful soul
Adieu and sleep well, Hon. Justice Kunbi Oyefeso.
We shall surely meet and rejoice on the Resurrection Day.

Sis K, as we all fondly called her, was the beloved eldest daughter of General and Mrs. Sho-Silva. Growing up, she had a lively and sometimes rebellious spirit, full of energy, confidence, and a love for life. She enjoyed the social scene in those days — Ikoyi Club, polo gatherings, and the excitement that came with youth. Even then, she had a presence nobody could ignore.

But with time came maturity, purpose, and grace. She settled beautifully into marriage, raised wonderful children, and pursued her passion for law, eventually rising honorably to become a Judge in Lagos State.

What stood out about Sis K was that despite the dignity and status of her office, she never lost her human side. Around family, she remained warm, humorous, approachable, and full of life. She could make you laugh so easily, and conversations with her always carried that special blend of wisdom and light-heartedness that made people feel comfortable around her.

Most importantly, she devoted her life to Christ and became a woman of faith, compassion, and quiet strength. Watching her journey through life was a lesson in growth and transformation.

Sis K’s life reminds us that youthful restlessness does not define a person’s final destination. What truly matters is how one grows, settles, impacts others, and becomes a positive example to family and society. She did exactly that, and she did it with dignity and grace.

As her cousin, I will always remember her fondly — her laughter, her warmth, her strength of character, and the way she carried herself with both authority and kindness.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

She fought the good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. A woman of faith, grace, and devotion, Hon. Justice (Deaconess) Josephine Oyefeso lived her life in service to God, her family, and the people she so diligently served.

I received the news of her departure with immense sadness and a very heavy heart. It was the loss of a sweet sister and a friend. She was a light, a source of encouragement, and a gentle presence to all who knew her. Her wisdom was expressed with humility and grace. No harsh words no anger and no pretense.

She was a beautiful soul inside and out and was always ready to assist and add value in any situation. Her service and devotion to God and humanity was evident in the way she lived. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, a cherished friend and a true child of God. Her kindness touched many, and her quiet strength inspired all who knew her.

As we mourn our loss, we also rejoice in her reward. I have the full conviction that my darling sis, Kunbi indeed came, impacted, shared love and knowledge, ran her race and won her crown. We take comfort in knowing she now rests in the eternal embrace of the Lord, where pain is no more, and joy is everlasting.

May the Almighty God rest her beautiful and gentle soul in perfect peace.

Dear Ma

I thank God for privilege of meeting and knowing you.

Sunday after Sunday, year after year, from before 2015, you graciously impacted my life and many others around you.

While you were the Head Usher of Living Faith Church, Canaanland, you believed so much in the Teen Ushers that you listened to our ideas and implemented them and those things you helped us to establish still stand till today as a testament of your ability to care for both the small and the great

You loved me as your child and went as far of honoring my personal invitation far back as 2018 to attend my elder sister's wedding. You told me "Victory, I will be there." I remember you calling me that Saturday and saying you had arrived. I remember you came from a very important meeting with your security team. You left them in the car and attended our event. I felt proud and loved. Without even knowing my family then, you honored my invitation.

Over the years, you maintained a habit of asking me about core areas of life and advising me.

A week before you passed, I saw you in my drream still doing what you did so effortlessly, looking out for my welfare.

Hearing recently how you were present for many others, I can only appreciate God for giving us all the opportunity to meet you and learn from you

You led with grace and ease and great leaders called you their leader.

As a daughter of God, you were given to the study of God's word as i observed.

You were excellent, you were rare. God's grace made you the standard.

I Love you Mum.
Till we meet again

We give God the glory for a life well lived. Jesus is Lord.

Deaconess Oyefeso as my family fondly called her was wise, graceful, kind, and endlessly generous with her heart. The years she spent here on earth only deepened the beauty of her spirit. She carried herself with quiet strength, offering comfort without judgment and wisdom without pride.
She always listened with patience, laughed with sincerity, and loved with a depth that left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Through every interaction with her, she showed what dignity, resilience, and compassion truly looked like.
She had the remarkable gift of making people feel valued, understood, and never alone.
I admire not only the life she lived, but the way she inspired others simply by being herself.
To have known her in this lifetime is a blessing and an honor we will always treasure. Rest in the Lord's Bosom and are dearly missed dearest mama.

Tribute to a Faithful Co-labourer in His Vineyard- Good night, soldier!!!

Words cannot fully express the depth of our grief, nor the gratitude we feel as we reflect on your life. We are thankful for the memories shared, the lives you touched, and the lasting impact of your service.

Your humility, despite your position and influence, was never an act—it was who you truly were. You carried out every kingdom assignment with quiet diligence and a heart devoted to serving God. You taught us without preaching, simply by showing up consistently, steadily, and faithfully.

You came, you served, and you finished well. Your life stands as a living testimony of what it means to run the race with endurance and complete it with honour.

Though we mourn your transition to glory, we find comfort in knowing you now rest with the Lord you served so faithfully.

Ma’am, you will never be forgotten. Your example, warmth, and love are etched in our hearts, and we are committed to carrying forward your legacy of love, compassion, faithfulness, and discipline.

Rest in peace, our beloved shining star.
Rest well, soldier of Christ. You have fought a good fight, and your reward is sure.

Good night, soldier!!! Good night, ma'am!!!.
