GORDON D, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND LOVING HUSBAND.
A TRUSTED SERVANT OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, THE FOUNDER OF UK OPEN LOUNGE. HE WAS SOBER FOR 35 YEARS WHEN HE LOST HIS BATTLE WITH CANCER.
GORDON WAS A TRUE WARRIOR, A TRUSTED SERVANT WHO GAVE HIS LIFE TO GOD AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS.. GORDON ALWAYS KEPT HIS PRIMARY PURPOSE AND THAT WAS TO HELP THE STILL SICK ANS SUFFERING ALCOHOLICS IN THE ROOMS.
GORDON DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO HIS FAMILY, ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS AND UK OPEN LOUNGE AND CONTINUED TO SERVE UNTIL THE VERY END
GORDON BROUGHT MANY AMAZING SPEAKERS TO THE AA ROOMS AND SHARED GREAT GRATITUDE TO EACH OF THEM FOR THEIR TIME, SERVICE & MESSAGE.
GORDON CONTINUED TO SHARE A BEACON OF HOPE AND LIGHT TO THE HOMES OF ALCOHOLICS THROUGH HIS SERVICE.
I THANK GORDON FOR THE LAUGHTER, LOVE, WISDOM, AND WARMTH HE BROUGHT TO MY LIFE. I WOULD LIKE TO PAY TRIBUTE TO HIM FOR HIS SERVICE ON ZOOM AND KEEPING THE ROOMS OF UKOL OPEN LOUNGE OPEN.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Gordon Dlyma. I first met him a few months into my sobriety, when he warmly welcomed me and entrusted me with the opportunity to serve as a greeter at the UK AA Open Lounge. His kindness and encouragement left a lasting mark on my recovery journey.
When Gordon later fell ill, I made it a point to check in on him. The last time we spoke, he shared that he wasn’t getting any better, and I responded with scripture, reminding him that healing was his portion. Though I continued to hold him in prayer, God, in His wisdom, had other plans.
Gordon, you left this world a sober man. For that, I am grateful, and honored to have shared even a part of the path of recovery with you. You fulfilled your assignment here on earth with grace,courage, and service. Rest in peace, dear friend. 🕊️
