Obituary
Giorgio Parato, aged 91, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on February 21, 2026, in Addison, IL. Born on September 14, 1934, in Italy. Giorgio immigrated to the United States as a young man, where he built his life through hard work, perseverance, and determination. He lived a long life shaped by resilience and independence.
Giorgio dedicated many years to his career as an operating engineer for the Local 150, where his hard work and perseverance were well recognized. Outside of work, he found joy in gardening and cooking, passions that allowed him to connect with his Italian roots and share his love for nature and culinary with his family and friends.
Giorgio is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Parato (née Casamassima); children, Antonio, Luca, Domenico, Giorgio, Anna Marie Parato, and Candida Cain; grandchildren, Luca, Michela, Antonia, Giorgio, Pia, Brian, Andrew, and Noel; and his sister, Nancy Goldhagen. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Domenico Parato and Anna Passeri.
Visitation and a Catholic Funeral Mass for Giorgio will be held on March 14, 2026, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 551 N. Rush St., Itasca, IL. Visitation will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Giorgio's life and legacy will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew him.
