Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31
Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" Fisher went to be with The Lord at the age of 88 on October 2, 2025. She passed peacefully, having lived a full and rich life - loving her family, friends, and serving the Lord all her days.
Ginny was born to Werner & Josephine Doellstedt on March 11, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. She was profoundly influenced by her mother Josephine, who gave her a strong foundation of faith and discipleship that lasted a lifetime and whose roots continue to grow deep in her remaining family to this day.
Professionally, Ginny owned and operated Fisher Arts & Crafts in Danville, California before becoming the Executive Assistant to the City of Fairfield Chief of Police. In addition, Ginny played an integral part in her late husband Jim Fisher's nationally acclaimed remodeling business and was active in her local church and supported a number of ministries that were dear to her heart. Ginny enjoyed oil and watercolor painting, travel, loved the great outdoors, and was an avid skier and backpacker.
After the passing of her husband Jim Fisher, Ginny was blessed to meet Milt Schmidt, another soulmate with whom she formed an indelible bond that created many lasting memories for both her and her extended family.
Ginny is survived by her three children shared with former husband David Minto; Denise, Kevin, and Suzanne, four grandchildren; Marisa, Brianna, Brandon, and Joshua, and four great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Dylan, Daniel, and Sofia.
A Celebration of Life is planned for November 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 1520 Wood Duck Lane in Meadow Vista, California. In lieu of flowers you may donate to one of Ginny’s favorite ministries, TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) www.team.org. We welcome you to share your favorite memories of Ginny on the memory wall.
