You are one of the most kind, and thoughtful people I have had the privilege of knowing. You would help family, friends or strangers. It didn't matter. In fact, you are such an incredible person that you would respond to a random guy asking for help in the middle of the night after finding your number online. I know that because that would be exactly how we met. I honestly can never thank you enough, not only for your help but mostly for our unexpected friendship.
Your love for your family brought us together. I saw the sacrifice and dedication you put into supporting your family. It left a lasting impact on my life that I will never forget. Your true gift was seeing the good in people, when most of the world wants to focus on the bad. You never gave up on your family, no matter the odds. You always believed good would prevail, because you believed so much in them. I honestly believe your unconditional love and unwavering support saved a life. You were the rock when nobody else was there and most everyone else had given up. I wish I could have told you these things when I had the chance, Gail. I can't tell you how much you will be missed by the people who loved you. You were a true friend to me and as we grow older true friends become harder to find.
Meeting you and your family is one of the best things to happen to me. I hope you know you played a central role in one of the most pivotal times of my life. I can't thank you enough, I will always remember you as a hero who would do anything for her family. I hope you knew how much you were appreciated. You will never be forgotten by so many. We are all lucky to have known you and had you in our lives. My birthdays will feel a little emptier knowing I won't wake up to your birthday greeting. That was the thing about you. Everyone could count on you. Always. For anything.
We were brought into one another's lives for a reason and I am grateful for the time I had to know you. It is beyond hard to say goodbye, but I will miss you, Gail. Rest in peace, my friend.
