GODWIN UMORU OYINBO (a.k.a BOBOLEE)

It is with a heavy heart i write this tribute of farewell to my most adorable and lovely uncle (Bobolee).
Uncle I’m really happy for the time you gave us to experience you, for the joy and your selflessness as a person. God knows I wouldn’t have asked for a perfect uncle like you, but thank you so much for embracing us as your children.
My uncle Mr Godwin Oyinbo was an easy , loving contented lovely human . He was filled with joy and laughter, believe me no unpleasant moment with him. I grew up to know my beloved uncle with one of his red car then. When ever my uncle messages that he was coming around , we always rush to the pack to drive in his car. This will shock you all to know my uncle’s red golf in the middle 90,s was my first learning experience in driving a car, what a selfless soul.
Uncle thank you for who you are , thank you for making us to understand that life is a journey but the priority of all is to love and appreciate every one when we still have the opportunity regardless of their personality .
The news of demise came to us as a shock because I remember speaking with you 4 days before this unpleasant news via video call full of life , and I remember telling you I will be around in the month of June and we both laughed ( last Laugh ),but little did I know ,that was going to be my last phone interaction with you.
Last card as we always call you,thank you uncle because I know heaven have gained a lovely soul even when we grieve here.
Bobolee , your lovely memories will keep us strong because you will never be forgotten. Uncle keep watching us spiritually, and thank you so much for giving us the opportunity of knowing you.

I never had the privilege of meeting you, but I have come to know the kind of man you were through your son, Boyo. They say a tree is known by its fruits, and the values, humility, kindness, and character I see in him are a reflection of the exceptional father who raised him.

You may have departed this world, but your legacy lives on in the lives of your children. You did not just give them life—you gave them values, love, guidance, and a foundation that will continue to inspire everyone who comes in contact with them.

Tribute to the Memory of Mr. Godwin Umoru Oyinbo (A.K.A. BOBOLEE)

It is with profound sadness that I extend my heartfelt condolences to my dear family friend and business partner, Benedicta, and the entire Oyinbo family on the passing of your beloved father, Mr. Godwin Umoru Oyinbo, affectionately known as BOBOLEE.

Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Daddy BOBOLEE as closely as many others did, I have come to appreciate the remarkable man he was through the values, strength, and character I see in Benedicta. It is often said that the true measure of a parent is reflected in the lives of their children, and his legacy shines brightly through the family he lovingly nurtured.
From the beautiful tributes shared about his life, it is evident that he was a man of unwavering faith, exceptional integrity, kindness, and generosity. His dedicated service to God as an usher in Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Benin City, speaks volumes about his devotion to Christ and his commitment to serving others with humility.
He was not only a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend but also a man who quietly impacted countless lives through simple acts of kindness, encouragement, and genuine love. The respect and affection with which he was known as BOBOLEE are a testament to the lasting impression he made on everyone who crossed his path.

To Benedicta, I know no words can truly ease the pain of losing a father. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this difficult time. Every child grew up knowing one biological parent, but my story is different. I was raised by two families, Mr. Ganiyu’s family and the Oyinbo family, both of whom shaped my life with love, care, and guidance. I have tried so many times to write this piece, but each time, my emotions take over and I struggle to finish it.

Losing my dad last year was one of the hardest moments of my life, and now losing you too feels like a wound that has been reopened. This kind of pain is not something anyone ever prepares for, and it is not easy to carry.

Who will call my number now just to check on me, even when I say I am at Luckyway Junction? Who will sit with me and talk about Saturday EPL games, even when I do not even know the club you are supporting? Those little moments that once felt ordinary now mean everything.

You were not just a father you were a man with a rare kind of heart. God created you in a special way, full of wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength. You always listened, advised, and you cared in ways words can never fully explain.

Thank you, Daddy (Boboly), for every conversation, every lesson, and every dream we spoke about. It hurts knowing that I may no longer sit with you physically to talk about the future, but I will carry those dreams in my heart always.

I pray that Allah forgives all your shortcomings, accepts all your good deeds, lighten your grave and grants you eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus. You will always live on in my heart, in my memories, and in everything you taught me.

Tribute to My Dear Uncle
My dear uncle was a man with a playful heart and a gentle spirit. He had a way of bringing smiles to our faces, often acting like a child at heart, reminding us to laugh and enjoy the little things in life.
He was always willing to help in any way he could, no matter how small. His kindness and presence meant more to us than words can fully express.
Though he is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that he lived his life with joy. I truly believe he had his moments of happiness and laughter while he was here on earth.
We will miss him deeply, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever.

He was my great uncle. I remember when he would come and check up on us. Every Sunday, he would drive his car to come check on us. He was my first uncle who had come to visit us in Auchi Barrack with a car. I was always looking g forward to that. When we moved to Benin, the bond between him and us became very tight. We would go visit him where he'd do his business. I miss him very dearly. His memory, laughter, and charisma will never be forgotten. Uncle, I want you to know that your memory will always be in my heart. I love you, uncle

Saying goodbye is incredibly difficult  daddy (BOBOLEE) I miss you immensely, you have the ability to light up every room, no dull moment, at times I wonder how you manage to love everyone so easily, you where my grandma favorite in-law, you deposit memories in everyone that you come across daddy

I remember the first time I met you, was my first ever holiday out of ihievbe,, just knew I have gotten a bonus father, when I said good evening sir, your response was, Am BOBOLEE.

The first time mummy sent me to new benin market to get something, You looked at me, and you discovered I was nervous, you laughed

BOBOLEE; just go the market, I dey here dey watch TV if you lost go the nearest TV 📺 station I go see for here come pick you up
ME; haha, I laughed as if my whole life depends on it,
From that day till death you never called me my name you only call me IHIEVBE BABE at time I wonder if he still rememberd my name.
I miss you BOBOLEE, you showed me love to the extent you have have to die on the day I gave birth so I can always remember you

I remembered early hour of April 16th on my way to the labour room, I got a call from my mom that BOBOLEE is dead I pulse and cried my husband just told go and bring fort a younger BOBOLEE I smiled not even sure of the sex of the baby, and when he it came fort it was indeed a younger BOBO as we do call him today.
Thank you for all the love as a child,
Thank you for teaching how to love effortlessly.

Dear Daddy!
You will always be a super HERO in my eye! The best advice I ever got came from you sir,you saw me waisting away my life in Benin and told me to do something with my life ..your words " my son try and look for something to do,do not let your life go to waste,learn a skill,if you want to go to school just pass your jamb come and meet me,I don't have money but I have connection I can get you into university of Benin! " I remember how serious I was then I went writing exams but I never made it! But I start learning skill ...thank you very much sir!
Daddy is always playful always smiling,accept all the kids as if they were his own! Wow! What a Father? Father to all. He thought us Love and care! Thank you daddy! Alot of memories I have of you sir ,even in the short period I spend with you! Sir that was the most important and impactful time of my life!..thank you for looking out for all of us! Daddy was a great man, a down to earth being who holds nothing back. Everyone is welcome around him, and he automatically recognizes you as his own mostly if you got introduced to him by any of his children, you've won a family ticket in his heart.
Bobolee was someone you would have met even without seeing him in person, because his children always had something to say every single moment about him, even with his strong gene being passed down to his grannies.
Farewell Bobolee, till we meet again on the resurrection dawn, may your soul Rest in Perfect Peace. Amen!

Daddy (aka BOBOLEE)was everyone’s father in medical stores road then, everybody knew him, not just in our compound but the whole area; he was a father to all.

I can’t tell the story of my childhood without including the name BOBOLEE , I still remember how he calls the children in the compound then every cool evening to sit on the mat and tell them stories (when I think of those stories now, I just laugh because as kids, every story seemed real😂).

Indeed Daddy will be greatly missed, but I’m thankful for the beautiful memories I have of him and which will continue to be in the hearts of everyone that knew him.

Oga Bobo was my father/boss. I grew up to know him as a kind and jolly fellow personality.So much to say,he was always there for me whenever I am having issues,he we say ozirin,u need to calm down. Thank God I spoke with him just a week B4 his death,and i showed him fatherly love. Oga Bobo,u have done well,rest well sir.

My grandfather was a quiet man, he didn't fill a room with words,but he filled it with calm just being there was enough.
He was funny in the dry,unexpected way.
He'd drop one line without changing his expression,and it would stick with you all day,he knew exactly when to lighten things up.
I miss that about him.l miss the steadiness,the timing,the way he made me feel heard without needing a long conversation.

Daddy i remember when you will sit at the side of the house in medical and you will tell us to pick out the gray hair from your head and even pop the pimples on your face,, Lol very funny how we will do this with all seriousness and at the end you will pay us our wages and salary, for poping pimples, picking gray hair and scratching your back . I miss you daddy or was it when we go to mama Osiro to buy head of fish.. Daddy you made our childhood fun. You will forever remain in our hearts rest Daddy we love you.

You taught me to fight for my destiny as it is in my hands. He showed me that real success and happiness is not measured by wealth or titles, but by contentment .
Through your resilience, you taught me courage.
I think of the countless mornings he rose before dawn, not because it was easy, but because he wanted to provide for us. Through his sacrifices, he taught me generosity. Your faith was a beacon of light in our lives.
