Obituary

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Friday, who was born on April 16^th, 1965 and passed away on April 1^st, 2026 in Navy Estate Karshi, Abuja.

Friday will be remembered for kindness, generosity, and the quiet ability to bring people together. Family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues all experienced the warmth and sincerity that made time spent with Friday meaningful.
Throughout life, Friday built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship. Conversations, shared moments, and everyday gestures created memories that will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing Friday.
Family meant a great deal to Friday, and relationships were always nurtured with patience and devotion. Friends valued loyalty and sincerity, while colleagues appreciated dedication and a thoughtful approach to work and collaboration.

The passing of Friday leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know Friday.
Friday will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Friday Mailafiya Ture (FMTEEE, as I fondly called you), my bossom friend for 47 years from; NMS through NDA into the Navy and finally retirement. That friendship disappeared into thin air like smoke on the First of April 2026 with your sudden demise which utterly shocked me. We were scheduled to meet that evening to catch up on our respective activities for the day, but that meeting was not to be. We shared so much in common, from being in Bravo Company (NMS), Abbysinia Battalion (NDA), Chemistry Department (NDA), Gunnery Specialists (Navy) and living in the same Navy Estate, Karshi after retirement, among others too mumerous to enumerate. I'm yet to come to terms with the fact that you've departed this world to the great beyond as I'm still expcting someone to tell me it's an expensive April Fool prank. But thats not going to be as your final rites of passage to etenity is in progress. You were like a brother. We hanged out together, shared our thoughts and generally reflected on the life we lived together and how far we came. You were a good man, loved and respected by all who met you. May your gentle soul rest peacefully in the bossom of the Lord. May your shortcomings be forgiven and may you find a place in Paradise to the glory of God. You will certainly be missed but we take solace in the fact that we shall meet again in the thereafter. Adieus my dear gallant colleague, friend and brother. Aijay.
