With a very heavy heart, to come to terms with the painful reality that Francis has gained his angel wings. My heartfelt condolences go out to you all during this incredibly difficult time.

Dearest Francis…Thank you for being the incredible person you were. Your calm nature, willingness to help anyone, and positive outlook on life inspired so many. You always offered guidance and advice without judgment, and your selfless nature spoke volumes. The compassion and kindness you showed others extended far beyond what was expected and you touched many lives.

May your gentle soul rest in eternal peace. I hope you look down with pride, knowing how many lives you impacted through your caring, loving, and generous spirit.

We often take the presence of those we cherish for granted, believing there will always be more time. I certainly believed you would always be around. As life carried on and the years passed, the opportunity to reconnect never seemed to present itself.

Thank you for being there for me when I found myself in Pretoria all those years ago. You supported me during a significant transition in my life and helped me find my footing in a different rhythm of life. You were one of the most humble people I have ever met, and my heart is heavy that time didn’t present itself to properly thank you for everything you did for me.

May the angels and saints, and Mary our Blessed Mother, welcome you into Paradise. May your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace, and may your memory continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.

Rest in peace, Francis. As you watch over all who loved you, I hope you can see the immense impact you had on so many lives. Your sudden passing has left an indescribable loss in many hearts. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and never forgotten.

With love and gratitude to have met you through my God parents whom you were like a son. You have been such a blessing and part of the family...until we meet again.

A REAL angel lived with us and among us. We have always known that there's something extraordinary about him. Only now do we realize the fulness of it. Who he really was

Almost similar to Jesus' stories. Most people wouldn't realize until he was not among them on who he really was. And it seems that Jesus in fact preferred it that way

Francis' passing has indeed cut very very deep in a lot of us. I wish I could have spent more time with him. Listen to his wisdom that was shared in simple form. This one was a child of God. He focused on the mission that God brought him to this earth for. And made sure he accomplishes it fully - in the time that he had before he had to depart🙏🏾. What a big soul, wrapped in humility, kindness, generosity, love, forgiveness, dedication to whatever was entrusted in him to do. I commit to learn from his life🙏🏾

Uncle Francis had one of the most beautiful souls to ever grace this earth. He was humble, generous, gentle, and always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. He had a way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and valued.
Though he was not my uncle by blood, he was my uncle in every way that truly mattered. Through his love, kindness, and unwavering presence, he became family to my cousins, family and I, treating us as if we were his very own.He loved God deeply, and that love shone through in the way he lived his life and cared for those around him. He loved people wholeheartedly and touched countless lives through his kindness, faith, and compassion.
The world has truly lost a remarkable man, but heaven has gained a beautiful soul. His legacy will live on in the many hearts he touched and in the love he gave so freely.
Thank you, Uncle Francis, for your warmth, your guidance, your generosity, and your love. You may not have been family by blood, but you were family by choice, by connection, and by love.
You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
May your soul rest in eternal peace.

Today when I walked into CIPC I realized just how much of a void you have left behind in my heart. You have touched so many lives and so many people. A righteous, pious and humble soul. Thank you for being such a good friend, for supporting all my charitable events, for showing up and creating so many memories and extending yourself to my family and friends. I am gratefull for meals we shared together and the good memories that we have. Let's not talk about all the games I lost because you were the referee.Go well my friend. And put in a good word for me in Heaven. Till we meet again💔

My Uncle Francis,
No one has ever made me feel like a princess on top of the world quite the way you always did. 💕✨🧚‍♀️ You never failed to make me feel like the whole world was my oyster, all because of you. Thank you for adoring me as if I were your very own daughter. Your intentional love will forever be etched into my heart, and I pray that I can make others feel just as seen and loved as you always made me feel. ❤️🥺🫂

Our Dear Uncle Francis,
How do I say goodbye when I was so hopeful that the Lord would heal you? On Friday, while I was busy making plans for how and where your princess and I would visit you during your recovery, it never occurred to me that you and God had other plans. When I received the news on Monday morning, my heart was shattered.
Yet, once again, I am convinced that nothing—not even your passing—will ever separate us from the love of God. Your humour, generosity, and loving-kindness will be sorely missed. You genuinely cared for the well-being of others more than your own; the world has lost a truly rare soul, and heaven has gained an angel.
I don’t have the words to describe how grateful I am to God that our paths crossed. I will deeply miss your beautiful smile, your humour, your kindness, and your devotion to the Lord, which spilled over to everyone who came in contact with you. My birthdays, Easter, and Christmas will never be the same without a message from you.
To Gabriel, the family, and dear friends: may the Lord comfort you and give you the peace that surpasses all human understanding.
We find comfort in knowing that you are in a better place in the arms of Jesus, and that we will have our "high tea" when we meet again in heaven.
Rest well, my brother (Gundu). 😇💖💖🕊️

Francis, you were a man of deep faith whose love for God guided every part of your life. You had a truly beautiful heart, always offering kindness, encouragement, and a gentle presence that lifted everyone around you. We will always be grateful for the love, friendship, and prayers you so generously shared with our family, especially for our children.

I will always remember the green-blue Nissan you drove during our university years. For more than three years, it was our faithful mode of transport, but even more than that, it carried us through a season where our friendship grew into something truly special. Those are memories I will always treasure.

You became the godfather to our eldest son, a role you embraced with great pride, love, and faithfulness. Our family was blessed to share so many wonderful times with you in Durban and Pretoria, memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The American Bible you gave us has travelled with us to different parts of the world, and each time we open it, we are reminded of your generosity, your faith, and the lasting impact you had on our lives.

Francis, you fought the good fight, you finished the race, and you kept the faith. Although we miss you deeply, we find comfort in knowing that you are now resting peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord.

Thank you for showing us what genuine kindness, unwavering faith, and unconditional love looks like. Your legacy lives on in the countless lives you touched and the memories we will cherish forever. You will never be forgotten, forever loved, and always remembered.

Rest in peace, dear Francis. Until we meet again. Kevin, Raquel and family

Francie my son,a man of faith, a generous, kind and gentle soul who believed that love conquers everything. Your example is your witness to what being a Christian is all about Your love for people, always a kind word or words of encouragement when needed. Your heart was bigger than the ocean. Your love extended for all you met.
My memories of your visits were always filled with laughter and happiness trying to encourage you to stay longer. Your Faith was profound. You believed in forgiveness regardless of the hurt. You helped me with hope when sharing my pain at my diagnosis. You were just a shining star for all to see and know what love and trust in the Lord is all about

Thank you for the memories. Thank you for you. Love you more and I know you will be sorely missed
Well done good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of the Lord.

On the 13 th July 2026 I received the sad news that Francis had passed away late at night 12 July 2026 and although it was sad, I realized, Francis Manickum is NOT dead, he is more alive now than ever before, because Jesus Had Made The Way Through His Resurrection from the dead for all believers to follow! So, I believe that Francis is dancing in The Presence of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints 🙌Wow….this is a sad day for all of us YET we are comforted in knowing that we do NOT mourn as unbelievers do, for we know that our “Pope Francis” has fought the good fight of faith, he has run his race, now he is dancing with the angels of God👏🙌 One thing is certain, Francis was a giant in our faith, I never heard or saw him angry…he was always a man of peace…a fellow soldier in The Army of Christ, always willing to serve! He was a member of The Men In Christ Show, where he was always making sure we all had some tea or coffee and at times bring pizza for all of us in the studio- always considering us first…. He was very comfortable being in the background, low key, and allowing the rest of us to speak ….BUT, it was not too long before we actually got him to let go of his shyness and Bless all our listeners with his golden nuggets what he found in The Holy Bible….❤️ I shall miss our conversations we had every couple of weeks…although we were miles apart, him in Pretoria and I in Cape Town, he always took the time to chat. He supported my ministry amongst men and bought many of my books, Life Coaching Through Scripture, to raise funds for his parish, and also give a copy to family and people working with him ….He was always asking about Olga and the kids…❤️ And when I may have had an issue or two…as humans do have, wanting to “cut off someones ear”…in our anger…, Francis would reply in his soft kind voice…and remind me that we are to imitate Christ… love, forgive, make peace😂And although at times I would feel I like “Francis, Allow me to be angry for a while” …he would insist that theres only one way- Christ s Way! Francis may be absent from the body BUT he is present with The Lord🙌👏He left an example for all of us of what a true believer was all about….May God Embrace his family and all of us who had the pleasure of serving alongside Francis as servants of The Lord, and all his friends , May God Embrace all of us with His Love and Peace during this sad time of mourning, YET , rejoicing in knowing he has graduated to Eternity with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and all the angels and saints, and Mother Mary whom he loved so much, in the Presence of Father God👏👏👏We Shall Remember Francis Manickum for all the right reasons. RIP brother. Gone but not forgotten Ivan & Olga Basson and family 🙌

Yoh, bro… I’m still struggling to believe the message I received that you’ve passed on. It just doesn’t seem real.

What an incredible human being you were—selfless, generous, considerate, always willing to help, and always thinking of others before yourself. You were, and always will be, a brother to all of us in the Biggar family.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. No matter what season of life we were going through, you gave so much of yourself to support us, encourage us, and be that shoulder to lean on. Your kindness and unwavering friendship meant more than you’ll ever know.

Your passing was so unexpected. For whatever reason, I truly believed you were going to pull through, especially after we spoke on FaceTime the night before. I will always remember that conversation.

But God’s plans are not our own. We take comfort in knowing that you are in a better place, safe in His presence.

Thank you, bro, for adding so much value to our family and for choosing to be part of our journey. You have left a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship that will never be forgotten.

You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Love you, brother. Forever.

Gentle & Loving Remembrance of
Francis,
For years you were like a son to me, my friend, and the one I trusted with my heart.
You left this world too soon, but the love, laughter, and wisdom you gave me will never leave.
You taught me what it means to be strong with kindness, and to show up for people.
I carry you with me — in every story I tell, in every prayer I say, and in every life you touched.
Rest in peace. Until we meet again.🙏🙏🙏

My heart aches at the news of Francis' passing. He was truly a great man and a great friend. He always met a greeting with a smile and offered words of wisdom when I was troubled. He was one of those people that was genuine and kind, no matter the circumstances. My days at CIPC were brighter because he was part of them. Rest in Peace, dear Francis. Thank you for your friendship.

This really feels surreal as Francis was the kind of Friend who never forgot to message on a birthday with well wishes...who always wanted to find out how one is doing and that you are well...who always had a kind and encouraging word to all ...and who was a deep man of Faith. He is definitely gone too soon and I'm still in shock and grief at his sudden and untimely passing. You will be deeply missed Francis...Rest in Peace Dear Friend...

A colleague and dear friend. My visits to the ground floor at CIPC will never be complete without a chat with Francis. Always smiling and providing guidance on any matter. He valued family so much and this was very much how our friendship grew. He visited us at home when my mum passed away many years ago. But that visit left lasting memories with my daughters and wife. What a lovely soul. Will be deeply missed. Love you my brother.
