With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Er Dr Lok Tat Seng, Francis, who was born on 15 January 1954 and passed away on 24 September 2026 in Leicestershire, UK.
Dr Lok will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the natural ability to light up the room, bringing people together. Family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and the various communities all experienced the warmth and sincerity that made time spent with Dr Lok meaningful, joyful and memorable.
Throughout life, Dr Lok built lasting connections and touched many lives through simple acts of care, encouragement, and friendship. Conversations, meals, shared moments over a good bottle and everyday gestures created memories that will remain forever etched with those who had the privilege of knowing Dr Lok.
The passing of Dr Lok leaves a space that cannot be filled. Yet the memories, lessons, and moments shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
Dr Lok will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

When Natalie introduced us, your impressive credentials intimidated me. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and generous you were with sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for the countless hours you spent listening, advising, and believing in me even when I doubted myself. You didn't just teach me how to grow professionally; you showed me, through your kindness and integrity, how to be a better person. I will carry your wisdom, your patience, and your laughter with me always.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of my dear friend and mentor, Prof Lok. Over the past 22 years working alongside him in the protective industry, he was a constant pillar of guidance for me. He did not just help me grow technically; he selflessly taught me how to improve my social skills and navigate life with warmth and grace.He was a brilliant mind, a generous mentor, and a true brother. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Prof Lok Tat Seng. He was incredibly intelligent and insightful, yet always positive, warm and full of infectious energy. I feel truly honoured to have had the opportunity to work closely with him recently, where we broke new ground and shared the excitement of exploring new possibilities. Prof Lok was my lecturer in NTU. One of the best and most inspirational lecturers I met. Always so enthusiastic and passionate and I enjoyed his class.

Dr Lok was my lecturer in NTU from Year 1 (though I only realised it years later), a mentor, trusted advisor, and dear friend. His wisdom helped me so much in my work, and his generosity in sharing his knowledge helped me more times than I can count. I will always treasure the meals and conversations we shared whenever he was in Singapore, especially over our favourite porridge. My husband and I are deeply saddened by his passing. Thank you, Dr Lok, for your friendship, guidance, and kindness. You will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. ❤️

Tat Seng's is a pioneer in Singapore 's protective security industry, a major contributor to advancing the knowledge and the capability of the professionals, and an old friend. His enthusiasm and constant drive towards greater achievements for the industry has influenced many in this and the next generation of professionals. We will miss this great mentor, close comrade, and dear friend.

I am deeply saddened to know about sudden demise of Dr Lok. He was gem of a person, a happy soul that enlightened lives of everyone around him. I have known him for over 25 years. He was the one who encouraged me and supported my application for registration with Professional Engineers Board Singapore. I will always be indebted to him for his generosity & kindness. We were regularly in touch over WhatsApp since he moved to UK.

We have known Dr Lok since the 1990s. He was very enthusiastic and introduced to CI-Premier "Shock & Impact Loads on Structures" with the first event being held in January 1996 in Singapore. Since it had been to Australia (3x), China (3x) Japan and Canada. Later another series "Protection of Structures against Hazards" was implemented. Both series were very successfully implemented. During the 30+ years, Dr Lok was always ready and enthusiastic in review papers, which he does meticulously and thoroughly. His eloquence and heartfelt delivery gave each citation the dignity and warmth it deserved.
Dr Lok always showed up, always ready to help, always ready to share and always willing to learn. He always had ideas for new conference series, and he would be the person you'd want to have beside you, when you're faced with a 'roadblock.'
Dr Lok, thank you for always being available for a chat, a laugh, for advice, for good food and a good bottle. Thank you for never failing to wish us on our birthdays and during festivities. I first met Dr. Lok in 1992, when he was my lecturer at NTU. After I graduated, our paths crossed again in 2006, and since then, we worked closely together on security by design projects and products development.
Over the years, Dr. Lok became much more than my professor and mentor. He became my best friend and like a brother to me. He was always willing to help and generously shared his knowledge, guidance and advice with me and with others.
Together with CI-Premier, we organised and attended seminars in Singapore & overseas. We shared ideas, worked on projects, travelled and created many wonderful memories along the way.
I will always be grateful for his friendship, guidance, kindness and wonderful memories.
Dr. Lok, thank you for being my mentor, my professor, my best friend and my brother. Rest in Peace, I will miss you dearly. You will always be remembered and never forgotten.
