And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28
Obituary
On June 12, 1955 Fletta Marie Morgan was born, the 10th of 11 children to the late Stephen & Thelma Morgan, in Pollocksville, North Carolina. She was educated through the Jones County Public school system until moving to New York City in her late teens.
Fletta’s love affair with Christ started as a young child. She attended church with her family and continued her walk when she moved North. She attended Mount Olive Holiness church under the leadership of Bishop William O. Williams. Her zeal to know more about the bible led her to enroll in school at Community Bible Institute, and under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. CR Johnson she received her Bachelors in Religious Education.
In 1982 after her husband Apostle Lonnie Stocks received a calling from God she became the first lady of The Jesus Saves Ministry, Inc. She led with humbleness and grace. A country girl in the big city but willing and able to serve. Her own call to the ministry came soon later and she was ordained an Evangelist. She preached with conviction, not afraid to share her own life experiences and from whence she had come. Evangelist Stocks was also a teacher, and helped to establish The Jesus Saves Ministry Bible institute. Her favorite subject to teach was the book of Acts. Although she was tough, no one left her class without a better understanding of the bible.
Lady Stocks was a mother to many. There are people all over the world that count her as their spiritual mother. Even after moving back to North Carolina she continued to keep in touch with so many and was always just a call away.
Outside of the church Lady Stocks was a lover of fashion. Since she was a young girl she dreamed of wearing chiffon and sequins and did just that when she was an adult. She loved big hats and high heels and could walk like no other. Still elegant and poised sitting with her legs crossed at the ankles.
As a mother & grandmother she was strict but loving, always willing to get on the floor and play games with her children. She took a keen interest in her children's education serving as PTA president and class mother on different occasions and was recognized by district 32 for her dedication. She would sacrifice all year long to ensure Christmas was all her children could dream of. As her children became adults she was able to shift from disciplinarian to also being a friend. She was fun to be around and loved to laugh until she cried.
Flettarie, as she was known to her family, loved to just be with her family. Especially the Golden girls. From Barbecues to Patti Labelle and crab legs. Keeping family close was top priority.
Lady Stocks was predeceased by both parents, brothers, Derrick, Willie Lee, William Allen & Jimmy Stephen. Sisters, Esther Louise & Bertha Mae. Her oldest daughter, Tamecha Lyvette and sons Lonnie & Kenny.
She slept away at 7:09 am, December 23rd 2025. She leaves to cherish her memories and toecho her light and love her daughters: Anna Stocks, Thelma Stocks, Breonka Stocks and granddaughter that she raised Miyah. Her sons: Antonio Morgan, Marlow Morgan and Albra Stocks. Daughters in law, Tamesha Morgan, Latasha Stocks and Marie Morgan. 1 Godson, Kenneth Askew Jr. 3 sisters, Oretha Berry, Patricia Bryant and Bernette Moore. 1 Brother, Paul Morgan. 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and spiritual children far and wide. Her legacy and impact live on through us.
