I would always remember the last time I saw you. You were in your usual lively, and happy self, yet proper, the usual Mrs. G. trademark.
Sorry, I was not able to give you the visit as I had planned but I am grateful that I got to speak to you .
After my retirement, Mrs. Greenidge agreed to proofread a manuscript that I was working on. It was a lot but she was so happy to offer her service free of charge.
She was very present at my book launch in 2020 and I felt so privileged to have someone of her stature there.
We communicated regularly in the past four years. I visited her at her home last February and really hoped to return but never got the opportunity.
I will miss her dearly, her sense of humour despite her health challenge she was still able to smile and enjoy a good joke when necessary.
EG you are not here to correct any errors I would have made in the construction of this tribute (you spot these errors from a distance) but I have the assurance that you have made a peaceful transition. We mourn but we are encouraged by the fact that you have fulfilled purpose.
Sincere condolences to Chanzo and the rest of the family.
