I
t is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eric "Chu Chu" Browne, who departed this life on June 23rd, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on February 25th, 1954, Eric was a cornerstone of the community, admired for his unwavering generosity and dedication to uplifting others.

Eric poured his heart into helping those around him, always offering wisdom, compassion, and guidance to anyone in need. Whether lending an ear, giving advice, or sharing his infectious humor, he created lasting bonds, becoming a treasured figure whose positive influence shaped an entire community. His radiant spirit and boundless kindness touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Eric’s greatest joy was his family. As a devoted father, loving grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, he instilled values of integrity, loyalty, and kindness across generations. Eric cherished family gatherings, where stories flowed freely, laughter echoed loudly, and his presence was a comforting anchor. He also took immense pride in his roles as brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, each relationship deepened by his unwavering support and love.

Eric was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Archibald Wreh Browne and Eliza Boyenoh Wolo.

He is survived by his beloved children: Christine Browne, Erica Browne, Eric Chu Chu Nyepen Browne Jr, Robert Decontee Browne, Sophie Georgiana Kaplan Browne, Jagbadee Browne, and Joshua Archibald Wreh Browne. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jailyn Marquis Browne, Justin Deconte Browne, Joshua D Browne, Brooklyn Browne, Jordan D. Browne, Prince William Browne, MccRamsey Alexander Browne, Justus Deconte Alexander Browne, Ayanna Danielle Browne, Arria Diane Browne, Ava D’Nyse Browne, Kaumi-Alise Nyependee Thornton, Avery Browne, Erica Browne, and Prince Browne. Eric was also a proud great-grandfather to Rose Davies and Eric Davies.

Eric is also survived by his siblings: Archie Jabga Browne, Munoh Browne Young, Malvina Browne-Mitchell, Archie Browne Jr, Aletha K Browne, Paula Jagba Browne-Arutz, Victoria Jagba Browne, Spencer Browne, Precious Browne, Lovetie Browne Major, Delcina V Browne, Helena K Browne, Philipbert Browne, Winfred Browne, Hensely B.B. Browne, Regina Wehtee Toe-Gaye, Frances Nuwa Juwle Chenoweth, Maude Sieh Juwle Morgan, and Eliza Boyenoh Juwle Yates.

Though Eric’s departure leaves an immense void, his legacy of warmth, generosity, and love will endure forever. We hold tight to memories of his radiant spirit, comforted knowing he lived fully, loved deeply, and left us with countless beautiful moments to cherish.

Rest peacefully, dear Chu Chu; your extraordinary life will forever remain in our hearts.
