To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.

Obituary

Elizabeth Diane Corley, lovingly known as Diane, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on November 8, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, she lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and a deep and steady love for those around her. She was 87 years old.

Diane was the daughter of John Joseph and Margaret Mary Brooks, and throughout her life she carried with her the values of warmth, kindness, and care that helped shape the person she became. She spent her later years in Loomis, California, but the heart of her life was always found in the home she built and the family she cherished. She was a homemaker whose days were centered on the people she loved and the quiet, meaningful work of making a home a place of comfort, welcome, and grace.

She attended dental hygienist school, and though her life took a different path, the fullness of her journey was reflected in the many roles she embraced with devotion. Marriage, children, grandchildren, and salvation were among the milestones that gave her life such richness and purpose. Diane lived as a Bible-believing Christian, and her faith was not simply a part of her life but the foundation beneath it. Psalms chapter 139 was her favorite scripture, held within these words King David wrote Diane found how special and cherished she is to God and how He thought about her with thoughts to numerous to count. She built her days around God and around the family He blessed her with, carrying herself with a spirit of service and love that touched everyone who knew her.

Those who loved Diane will remember her as loving, kind, family-focused, generous, and always listening. She had a warm presence and a big heart, and she was the kind of woman who would love and help anyone who crossed her path. She believed in giving and sharing, and she did both freely and gladly. Her life was a reflection of those simple but beautiful truths, lived out in everyday kindness and steadfast devotion.

Diane is survived by her husband, John Corley, and her children, Richard, Teresa, Michelle, David, and Susie. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Kaylie, Jessica, Ian, Jerimiah, Reagan, Hannah Elizabeth, Jacob, Hannah Jasmine, Katelyn, and Kia. Her family was one of her greatest joys, and she poured herself into them with patience, affection, and a love that will continue to be felt in the years ahead.

She found joy in the things she made with her hands and the beauty she nurtured with care. Gardening, needlework, crochet, and quilting were among her favorite pastimes, and her award-winning needlework spoke to the skill, patience, and heart she put into all she did. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were part of the gentle, creative life she lived, one shaped by attentiveness and love.

Diane’s life was a blessing to those around her, and her memory will remain a source of comfort to her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, those who knew her can take peace in the faith she lived by and the hope of eternal rest in God’s care. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Community Church in Roseville, California. A grave side serivce will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 10:00am in Newcastle, California. May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones be held in prayer and comfort.
