Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Bolles Henry (Liz, to family and friends), She left us peacefully on July 25, 2025 at the age of 53, at home in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by her husband and three daughters. She is survived by her husband, Mark Henry; daughters Mary Elizabeth ( Lizzie) , Catherine Clann (Cat), and Margaret Bolles (Maggie) and remembered by countless friends and loved ones.

She was born on November 14, 1971 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of John Alan Bolles and Elizabeth Clann Bolles and sister to John Alan Bolles Jr.

An outstanding soccer and state champion volleyball player winning All District and All Metro, she graduated from Isidore Newman School in 1989. During these years, she was a member of Les Pierrettes, Les Ecolieres and Sub-Debs and was presented to society at the 1991 Washington Mardi Gras Ball.

Following high school, she attended The University of Alabama, graduating with a double major in business and Spanish and was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. While Liz built an impressive career as an auditor and controller over three decades, her most cherished and rewarding role was as a mother. She often said that her greatest accomplishments were the lives of her children, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally, always providing encouragement from the sidelines for her girls. Her legacy lives on most powerfully in the family she nurtured with care, strength, and endless devotion.

Liz was a force of nature, even up to her passing. She was known for her tenacity, wit, bold opinions, no-nonsense attitude, incredible resilience, and for never being afraid to speak her mind. She lived her life with a fierce conviction, steadfast loyalty, and an unapologetic sense of self - qualities that inspired admiration and, at times, fear in the best possible way! Her strength was matched only by her heart. Those lucky enough to be in her inner circle knew her as endlessly protective, wildly funny, and deeply loving. She will be forever missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 4th at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 10:00am located at 2699 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30305.  www.cathedralctk.com

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Atlanta Mission in Liz Henry's name.

Sorry it has taken me so long to gather myself. I know you fought the best you could - which is better than mostly the rest of the population. You’ve set your girls on the right course. Your lessons will live with them forever.

This first upcoming holiday will be difficult and seems impossible. But we will take care of mark and the girls and I’m so glad they will be with us.

You’re my little sister

Love to you forever.

Mrs. Liz, to say knowing you has been an honor truly does a great injustice to who you are. From the beginning there was never a dull moment sitting with you talking and laughing about teenage/college hijinks, then constantly reminding everyone to make good choices. You are a blessing to everyone you came across. Thank you for who you were, are and will continue to be through your legacy.❤️
