Obituary

Eleonora peacefully passed away in hospital on June 17, 2025 in her 85th year.  She was the beloved wife to Nick for 60 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Jim and wife Eugenia. Adored by her cherished grandson Nico and loved by her brother Stavros Lalos, his wife Filia and many nieces and nephews.

Eleonora was predeceased by her beloved parents, Sofia and Panagiotis Lalos; her sisters Kiki Kanellopoulou, Tasia Iliopoulou, Fotoula Raptis, and Anna Bartzis; and her brother George Lalos.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her boundless generosity, vibrant spirit, devotion to family, and her unforgettable kourambiethes. A proud hockey mom and grandmother, she also served as Jim and Nico’s faithful practice goalie — a role she cherished with love and laughter.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 1785 Matheson Blvd, Mississauga, ON L4W 1V1.

The burial will take place at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, Ontario, L4Y 2B5, followed by Makaria (interment reception) at the church.
