Obituary
Eddie Conway, known to many as "Fast Eddie," passed away on September 12, 2024, in Seattle, Washington. He was born on March 19, 1949, in Olympia, Washington. His departure has left a void that cannot be filled and has deeply affected all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eddie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Cheryl Conway and a loving father to his children: Jason Conway, Angie Thomas, Molly Bell, Bridget McPherson, and Sean Mahoney. He cherished his family above all else and took great pride in being a grandfather. Eddie is survived by his brother Dennis Conway, with who he shared a deep bond, and now rests with his mom, Esther Christensen.
As a veteran who served his country with honor and courage, Eddie's dedication to duty extended beyond the battlefield into every aspect of his life. His love for music—especially The Beatles—was legendary; he could often be found humming their tunes or tapping out rhythms with an infectious joy that brought smiles to those around him.
Eddie beamed on the golf course and he lived for visits with his brother, Dennis. His quick wit and sharp sense of humor made him the life of any gathering. Whether it was cracking jokes or sharing stories from his past adventures (of which there were many), Eddie always knew how to bring laughter into the room. He had an uncanny ability to make people feel at ease with just one witty remark or mischievous grin.
"Fast Eddie" earned his nickname not only for being quick on his feet but also for living life at full speed—with passion and determination in everything he did. His loyalty as a friend knew no bounds; he was always there when someone needed support or simply wanted good company.
Eddie's impact reached far beyond just those closest to him; he touched countless lives with kindness and compassion throughout the years. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable man.
In honoring Eddie's memory today—and every day—we celebrate not only the extraordinary person he was but also the profound influence he had on our lives. Though we mourn our loss deeply now that he is gone from us physically, we take solace in knowing that his spirit will continue shining brightly within each one of us who loved him dearly.
Rest peacefully now Eddie—you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
