Dr Mark Fromer

Mark Fromer trained my husband , Dr. Robert Ross , in ophthalmology and he was always kind to both Robert and I . We last saw him about 7-8 years ago in New Orleans at an ophthalmology meeting . We both considered him a mentor we are sad to hear of his premature passing. May he rest in peace and condolences to his family.

When I heard about Dr. Mark Fromer's passing it was a shock to say the least. I worked for Mark from 2000 to 2004 as his C.O.A. and Retinal Angiographer. He was a great Retina specialist and a nice man to work for. I have since moved to Maryland where I went into the fire department but always remembered my time with Fromer Eye Centers. The Ophthalmology field lost a one of the best in his field and I wish his family all the best.at this difficult time.

My condolences goes out to your family Dr. Mark Fromer. I am shocked about these sad news. You were a great boss, who knew all of his employees! Working for you and Dr. Susan Fromer made me who I am now. After introducing me to the ophthalmic field, it motivated me to grow within the field. I am forever grateful for all you did. I worked with Dr Fromer for many years since the days at St Vincent’s Hospital ordering supplies for him I was also a patient deeply saddened of this news my condolences to his family.

My condolences to the family. I was saddened and shocked to hear of his passing. I remember him as a funny and very caring doctor. I had seeing an eye specialist like him ever before. His clinics were always well staffed and willing to help. I am already lost as to what to do next in finding someone as kind hearted and giving as he was. Always gave his best for his patients with his endearing personality. May he rest in peace.

I’m so deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mark Fromer . The practices were so effectively run and the services I believe was top rated. I don’t know if I’ll find an eye doctor with a practice so efficiently run as all the fromer eye clinics. I had eye surgery in both my eyes a year ago. Am currently trying to find an eye Dr. as I need my eye drops, which I can’t do without.

I am so sorry for your loss, I was speechless when I heard the recording. Dr. Mark was so nice and fun. He was always happy to remove my eye lashes causing me problems. Not only was he a great doctor, his office is the only office to actually pick up the phone when I would call. What a loss to his family and his patients. My heart goes out to his sister, I am so sorry for your pain.

So very sorry to hear this very sad news of Dr. Mark Fromer's passing.. Dr. Susan Fromer has been my Dr for many, many years and she also operated on my Dad, in his 90s at the time, Am deeply saddened for her loss and that of the family. Also sad to hear that the practice will be permanently closing. I will miss all of you as you truly made a difference in my life and that of my Dad's!

He referred me to one of the top cornea surgeons in the world Dr Eric Donnenfeld who successfully corrected my vision after the hyperopic shift due to a past RK surgery. Dr Fromer was Very Humble and Kind more than anything else. He was brilliant, active, elegant, had sense of humor, innumerable qualities that it’s hard to believe he is gone. I am so extremely saddened to hear that Dr. Fromer has passed. My young daughter underwent cataract surgery by his sister and he was present in her surgery in the event there were retinal issues. I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Fromer’s passing. I have always had poor eyesight and Dr. Fromer provided such excellent care. I recommended him to my co-workers. I don’t know what I am go7ng to do now because I had such a level of trust in him that I have never had with my other doctors. Rest in peace.

October 21, 2025 I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mark Fromer. He was a caring and devoted doctor to his patients. He will surely be missed and his staff as well.

Dr Fromer was my Diabetic Retina doctor for over 10 years.
He and I were big Michigan State fans and we'd talk about the new players and the coaches more than we would my eyes which were always in great shape according to him. He was always on top of my condition and was always pleased when he looked into my eyes and found no changes.
He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Dr.Fromer was a very friendly, nice guy and honest doctor. My father knew him from a karate class that they both took way back in the late 70s/ early 80s before ever using his services. My father enjoyed his conversations with his friend Mark. About 15 years ago, my father and I both had surgery through the Fromer Eye Center. I should’ve had this surgery earlier and am very thankful. Dr.Fromer was a very honest doctor. He advised me against doing another type of surgery. He was too young to go and seemed so full of life. We were are so sad to hear of his passing. My father and I will miss Dr.Fromer and send our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Dr Fromer helped me over the years that included 2 successful surgeries. I am very grateful to him. And wish his family and loved ones comfort with the joy of loving memories.

I would like to send my condolences to Dr. Susan Fromer and the rest of the family. I was fortunate to have had her care for my eyes for the brief time she was with the practice in Westchester. I was so impressed by her professionalism, knowledge and empathy during my visits. I am sending my thoughts and prayers to you all. Thank you for everything you do!

I just learned of Dr. Fromer's passing and it's hard to imagine such a vibrant, fun, and caring guy no longer with us. Dr. Fromer took a chance on employing me 20 years ago, and gave me an opportunity to move to NYC and start the life I have today. It's wonderful to read everyone's reflections here, and share memories and celebrate the life of this one-of-a-kind person that clearly affected so many of us.
