Obituary
On November 15, 2025, Donald Glenn, beloved brother, uncle and friend, quietly passed away with his twin brother, Ronald, at his side. He was 70 years of age.
Born on January 17, 1955, to Oliver Wendell Glenn and Frankie (née Bolden), Donald was the twin brother of Ronald and the brother of Betty and Bernard Glenn (who preceded him in death).
Donald attended 92nd Street Elementary, where he met and maintained lifelong friendships with Wayne and Chris Pleasant. He continued his education at David Starr Jordan High School, where he developed a deep curiosity for the arts, alongside a lifelong love of woodworking and music. During his high school years, he formed lasting bonds with Clyde Cassel, Marion Garrett, and as members of Jordan Highs speech team he formed a lifelong friendship with Rita and Denise Embry (aka Sauti Baraka-Glenn), who later became his sister-in-law.
Donald was employed by Southern California Gas Company and the United States Postal service. While working at the Post office he met live long friend, Gregory Thomas. They shared a love of swap meeting, boxers, music and the outdoors.
Donald went on to attend the University of Redlands and the University of Southern California. A lifelong learner, he embraced knowledge wherever he could find it. He earned a certificate in cabinetry from LA Trade Technical College, taught himself to play the flute and drums, and even explored the piano.
Donald’s greatest loves included his boxers, vintage cars, and the great outdoors. He cherished solitude, often spending hours outside walking his dogs, gardening, woodworking, and tinkering. He shared a special closeness as well as his love of dogs, nature, and hands-on creativity with his nephews, Anthony and Jamal—both of whom preceded him in death. He also touched the lives of each of his nieces (Kylah and Shamina) and nephews (Shawn and Sloan) with his passion for music, kites, and animals. He shared a unique sense of humor with his Big sister Betty.
Donald and Ronald, as twins, shared a closeness that defies words. They were brothers, friends, roommates, and constant companions. Their lives were intertwined on every level. They communicated with a glance, often finishing each other’s sentences. They stood by one another through life’s challenges and triumphs, sharing life’s joys and sorrows in equal measure.
Donald is survived by his siblings, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever treasure his memory and honor him through the love and experiences they shared.

FUNNY STORY;
Senior year we decided to go out for the football team. That was the only time we had a disagreement. I quit and told Donald that being seniors, the varsity coach would never give us any time. But Donald hung in there 🏋🏿♂️.
I remember how proud I was to see my friend earn some playing time and finally take the field 👍🏾‼️
RIP my brother, I'll see you soon🙏🏾
Ron and family every moment spent together and every event that comes to mind that includes Donald will create a cherished tapestry of heartfelt memories that remain in your hearts and minds always.
Donald loved you all and each of you reciprocated that love 100 fold.
We know that the AGAPE love of our Heavenly Father surrounds each of you as
Donald rests in peace in God’s loving arms.
Our love and prayers are with you.

One of my fondest memories of Donald is him driving his ‘58 Impala. I remember him behind the wheel cruising like the coolest guy on the block. This beautiful memory of him is one that I will never forget .
I hope you will hold memories such as these in your heart and that they will bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I offer my deepest condolences on the passing of Donald. I have been reflecting on our years as friends, and I felt compelled to share a few words with you.
Donald was one of the good ones—truly. In all the years I knew him, from our days at Jordan High School and Markham Junior High to the time we spent as roommates during our first year of college. I never met anyone who had anything negative to say about him. He carried himself with a kindness, sincerity, and steadiness of spirit that made him stand out even among our closest friends. He was simply a good man.
When I left Watts to attend the University of Redlands and begin exploring the wider world, it was Donald who walked that transition with me. I will always be grateful for that season of friendship and support. My tribute to him is simple: Donald was a genuinely caring person whose presence made life better for those around him.
I pray that when my own time comes, those I leave behind can speak of me with the same warmth and respect that we all feel for Donald.
My heartfelt prayers and condolences are with Ronald and the entire Glen family during this difficult time. May you find strength, peace, and comfort in the loving memories you share.
With deepest sympathy,
