Tribute to My Beloved Father-in-Law, Late Deacon Engineer Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka

Daddy,

Your passing has left a deep ache in my heart, one that words can hardly express. You were more than a father-in-law to me, you were a father who showed love, patience, and acceptance.

Though at some point I was wrong about you and even misbehaved, you still loved me and gently corrected me with grace. That kind of patience and understanding reflected the heart of Christ, and it is a lesson I will carry with me always.

I never knew that the 1st of February would be the last time I would see you. If I had known, I would have stayed longer, listened more, and cherished every moment we shared.

We thank God for a life well lived—for your wisdom, your kindness, and the love you gave so freely. Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing that you are resting in the Lord.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and your legacy will continue to live on in all of us.

Rest on, dear Daddy, in the bosom of the Lord. You are deeply loved and will forever be missed.

With love and gratitude,
Oseiwe Anetor

We received the news of his transition with deep sympathy and then marveled by saying: “EERIN WO, EJA NLA LO NINU IBU” going by Baba’s contributions to humanity and community service. Of course, the loss of a father is always painful, yet we take solace in the noble legacy he left behind through the values and discipline evident in the life and service you continue to render to our community, and the nation at large.

The decision to name the facility in honour of your late father as Engr Samuel Adeyinka Health Centre, Olugbo is a befitting tribute to a life whose memory will now continue to inspire service, compassion, and dedication to humanity.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you at this time. It is with deep reverence to God and heartfelt sympathy that we commiserate with the entire family on the passing of your beloved patriarch, Deacon Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka. Though our hearts are heavy at his departure, we are comforted by the assurance that he has completed his earthly race faithfully and has transitioned into glory as a devoted disciple of Christ.

Baba Adeyinka was a towering pillar of faith and service at Ibara Baptist Church. His life exemplified what it means to be a Soldier of Christ. His zeal for the advancement of the gospel was evident when he provided the first evangelism vehicle for Ibara Baptist Church, a gesture that significantly strengthened the church’s outreach efforts. His passion for missions also gave birth to the pioneering annual mission visit to Igbokofi, a program that continues to bless many lives. Baba Adeyinka’s love for God’s work was often expressed quietly and without fanfare. Many pastors today stand as living testimonies of his generosity, having been silently sponsored through the seminary by this humble servant of God.

His life of faithfulness earned him a historic place in the life of the church. Under the leadership of Reverend Ayanwande Ayanokun, Baba Adeyinka was ordained as one of the first set of Deacons of Ibara Baptist Church, alongside Mrs Beatrice Olorunde and Baba Adeolu Adeyemi. Baba Adeyinka was known for his unwavering integrity and courage. He was a man who never hesitated to stand for the truth, yet did so with wisdom and conviction. His dedication to the Baptist fellowship was remarkable, not only in passive, but actively represented Ibara Baptist Church at association, conference and convention levels, firmly believing in the strength and unity that comes from collective Baptist gatherings. In recognition of his wisdom and trusted leadership, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the church until the end of his earthly journey. Indeed, Baba Adeyinka lived a life of purpose, humility, courage, and devotion to God.

While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he has gone to receive his eternal reward from the Master he served so faithfully. As Scripture reminds us, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” May the Almighty God grant the entire Adeyinka family strength, comfort, and peace needed at this time.

The Family of Engr. Samuel Ajayi Adeyinka

Dearly Beloved,

LETTER OF CONDOLENCE: CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ENGINEER SAMUEL AJAYI ADEYINKA

Grace and peace be with you in this season of Lent. It was with deep sorrow, yet with gratitude to God for a life richly lived, that we received the news of the passing of your beloved consort, father, and mentor, our beloved Papa, Engineer Samuel A. Adeyinka, who transited to the great beyond recently. For him to have lived over eighty years with such purpose and devotion is a product of God’s grace and a disciplined life. Papa Adeyinka was a man of great faith, integrity, and service. Within the Baptist Church he stood as a pillar, not merely by attendance but by the way he lived out the values of the gospel even in the Anglican Church, he was a man of great stature. He distinguished himself as a visionary who combined engineering excellence with a passion for agriculture, demonstrating to many that diligence and wise use of local resources can create lasting prosperity.

We remain especially grateful for the times he honoured our invitation to speak to the youth and the wider membership of Egba Diocese. His counsel on enterprise and financial growth came from practical experience, and many were inspired by the wisdom he shared. His passing is truly a great loss to your family, the Church of God, and the wider community of Ogun State who benefited from his leadership, insight and example.

Even in our sorrow, we take comfort in the assurance that he has returned to the Lord he faithfully served. May the Holy Spirit comfort you, the children, and the entire Adeyinka family, and may the precious memories of his life and legacy continue to strengthen all in the days ahead. On behalf Mama Egba, the good people of God in Egba Diocese and Self, please accept our deepest condolences.

Thank you and God bless you.

With deepest sympathy and prayers,
Egba Diocese

Pa. Adeyinka was a rare gem — a man of faith, discipline, humility and unwavering integrity. His life was a shining testimony of service, compassion, and steadfast commitment to the work of the Lord and the betterment of humanity.

As an accomplished engineer, he distinguished himself through excellence, professionalism, and diligence. He was not only respected for his intellect and competence but also admired for his wisdom, calm disposition and fatherly counsel. A TRIBUTE TO LATE DEACON SAMUEL ADISA ADEYINKA

Late Engr. Samuel Adisa Adeyinka was a colossus who walked this earth and left indelible marks on the sands of time. Indeed, one can only speak about the aspects of a man’s life that one knew or was privileged to experience.

Though he was old enough to be my father, he and his dear wife took a special liking to me and my family. At first, I wondered whether this affection was because I bear the name Kunle, just like their second son. However, I later realized that the love they showed to me and my household was born out of their deep faith in the Lord. They were simply living out the divine mandate to love others.

I first met late Baba Adeyinka, as we fondly called him, at Ibara Baptist Church, Abeokuta, over forty years ago. He had a deep passion for evangelism and was completely devoted to Jesus Christ and the Baptist denomination, despite being born into the Anglican Church. I thank God for the exemplary life he lived and for the positive influence he had on many people.

Baba Adeyinka hardly missed the sessions of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. He had a special penchant for mentoring young Christians in those days, myself included. I remember people like Rev. Felix Oluwayinka and Rev. Dr. Abiodun Edun who also enjoyed this privilege. He would personally transport us to the convention venue in his car, provide our feeding and accommodation, and ensure that we were well taken care of throughout the period. We enjoyed these privileges freely for many years.

I also recall another memorable experience with the Adeyinka family when I was invited to join them on a trip to Kainji in Niger State and Kaduna to attend the graduation ceremony of Major General Kunle Adeyinka at the Nigerian Defence Academy when he graduated in 1994. It was an experience I will always cherish.

There were two other areas for which Baba Adeyinka had great passion: agriculture and land acquisition. He loved agriculture immensely. Apart from establishing farms of his own, he constantly encouraged others to venture into farming.

In addition, he always advised people to acquire landed property. Through these pieces of advice and practical examples, Baba Adeyinka touched and transformed many lives. He ventured into several businesses and became successful in many.

He also had a remarkable personality. At times he might become upset with someone, but his anger never lasted long. Once you apologized, the matter was settled. Little wonder he had so many admirers.
On behalf of my household, I pray that the Lord, in His infinite mercy, will grant Mrs. Adeyinka, the children, and the entire Adeyinka family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Dn. Kunle & Tope Oluwusi.

Letter of Tribute and Condolence: Late Engineer Deacon S.A.O Adeyinka

On behalf of the Olivet Baptist High School, National Old Students’ Association (NOSA), we extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Engr. Deacon Adisa Adeyinka, an alumnus per excellence.

Papa Adisa was a proud Olivetian, having attended OBHS between 1955 and 1960, where he served as Health Prefect. His leadership qualities were evident even in his youth, and he carried those values throughout his life. He remained active in the OBHS NOSA Abeokuta Chapter until his passage, showing his lifelong commitment to the alumni body and the school that shaped him.

Professionally, Papa distinguished himself as an Electrical Engineer, serving with the former ECN/NEPA. After his tenure, he ventured into agribusiness, reflecting his dedication to work, service, and innovation.

As part of the Three Ts — Time, Talent, and Treasure — Papa Adisa gave generously of himself to Olivet. He invested his time in alumni activities, shared his talent through professional expertise and leadership, and offered his treasure in tangible contributions. A shining example of this was his gift of the palm trees that line both sides of the main road from the school’s main gate, a living legacy that continues to inspire generations of Olivetians.

Beyond his professional achievements, Papa was a practical Christian whose faith guided his life. His humility, kindness, and steadfast devotion were evident to all who knew him. We take comfort in the assurance that he now rests in the bosom of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Mama Adeyinka, his beloved wife, his children, and the entire family. May the Almighty God comfort you and grant you peace as you reflect on the rich and impactful life Papa lived.

Papa, sleep on in peace until we meet again. Your legacy of integrity, service, faith, and the fullness of life will continue to inspire generations.

With profound respect and cherished memories, I pay tribute to an extraordinary man, Pa Engineer Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka.
I first got to know daddy Adeyinka on Friday, 20th of July 2001 on Kunle and Gbonju,s engagement. Since then, a strong bond developed between us.
A consummate gentleman ( Omoluabi ) in every sense of the word, he carried himself with graceful humility and quiet strength. He was refined in manners, deliberate in speech, and firm in his convictions. He wore his many achievements with an effortless humility that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. A man of peace.
We give thanks to God for the remarkable life and legacy of of daddy Adeyinka fondly known by his family as " Olori Ebi " . To our family, daddy was more than a father - in-law to our daughter Mogbonjubola, he gave us the gift of presence as two families in one to the glory of God.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure ; and though our collective hearts may be heavy with loss, it is reassuring that someone as special as daddy Samuel Adisa Olukayode Adeyinka can never be forgotten. Continue to rest in the blossom of The Lord
