Love leaves a memory, and lives in our memories... an eternal love no one can deny.
Obituary
Diane Pearl (Buttram) Steffens – Recalling Romans 5:2, “… through whom also we have access by Faith into this Grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the Glory of God.” Our beloved Diane left this life to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 64 years young. Devoted mother of Sean Ross Steffens and Cristian Jacob Steffens. Loving wife to her husband Edward Steffens. Cherished Grandmother by Sean and his wife Alyssa’s three granddaughters Kinslee, Kaylani, and Kapri.
Diane was born on September 11, 1960. The only child and daughter of Edgar Ross Buttram and Naomi D. Buttram, predeceased. Diane grew up in Cutler Ridge / Miami Florida. She attended school at Cutler Ridge Elementary, Cutler Ridge Junior High, and graduated in 1978 senior class of Miami Southridge Senior High. Diane went on to an Associates level degree in dental assisting from Robert Morgan Vocational School. She enjoyed that career for more than 25 years.
Diane met her husband Ed through mutual friends and began dating December 2nd, 1982. That first date was true love and lasted their entire lives together. Diane and Ed were married in the First Baptist Church of Perrine August 2nd, 1986. When asked how long they were married Diane always liked to add the previous time to say they had been together for 42 years.
Diane’s greatest passion was devotion and love for her family and friends. Always proud to say she raised more than just her two boys she loved it when so many of their friends knew her love as “Momma Steffens”. Diane kept in touch with everyone she could for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and so often just to say hi and ask how they were doing. She confessed a wonderful childlike faith in her salvation through Jesus Christ. Baptized in the same church she was later married in, the same Revered Tommy Watson resided over both.
A celebration of life memorial will take place April 26, 2025, at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church Chapel; 8570 Cypress Lake Drive Ft Myers, Florida 33919. Relatives and friends are invited to share this special time with us.
In lieu of flowers, Diane’s father was a WWII veteran, Purple Heart Recipient and for 36 years Diane was a faithful, patient and loving firefighter’s wife. It would be our great honor to have donations provided to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in her memory.

VIK AND TOM
Friendship is always a gift, but being new and having someone like her befriend you and make you welcome is the kind of generosity you never forget and are always grateful for.
She had a willowy, effortless, loveliness. She will be missed.
