To live forever in the hearts of those we leave behind - is not to die.
Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Diane Jean Martinez. Not only a beloved mother, but a grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and confidante, who left us too soon on February 11, 2025. She was 72 years old.
Born on December 17, 1952, Mom dedicated her life to bringing joy and beauty to those around her. As a multitalented hairdresser, she earned the love and admiration of her clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. Her talent and passion for her craft were evident in every appointment, where she transformed not only hair but also spirits.
A devoted grandmother, Mom attended every game and event for her granddaughters Flora and Dulce, cheering them on with unwavering support and pride. Her love knew no bounds, and she created cherished memories that her family will hold dear forever.
In addition to her many talents, Mom had a zest for life that was contagious. She dressed with unmatched style and flair. She was a true beauty inside and out. Mom loved to travel and explore new places, always seeking out delicious food and unique culinary experiences. Known for her amazing cooking , she brought joy to family gatherings, delighting loved ones, friends, clients and neighbors with her culinary creations.
Mom was an incredibly strong and caring woman, always putting others before herself. She was an amazing daughter and a wonderful sister, offering love and support to her family at every turn. She was the first to bring flowers, or homemade jam or jellies to a loved ones home or chicken soup to someone in need, embodying the spirit of kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us, Mom enriched the lives of everyone she ever met. Her legacy of love, strength, and giving will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Mom was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her children Michael Martinez (Jay Thomas), Gina Garcia, granddaughters Flora Amaya and Dulce Amaya, siblings Joyce Newman, Karen LeBrun, brother Frank Martinez, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were considered family. All will cherish her memory.

Our deepest condolences to the family. She will be missed by all, especially Flora and Dulce, who she adored.

She was so energetic, strong, passionate and
loving.
This seems so surreal. I always loved Diane as one of my dearest friends since 1968.
May God bless her forever.
