Obituary
Dewey E. Alexander III, affectionately known as Skipper, 70, of San Antonio, TX passed in the early hours of Thursday, July 9, 2026. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he had a 40 year career in telecommunications.
A husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Skipper lived his life in dedication to his loved ones. He enjoyed making everyone who entered his life feel special and valued. Whether it was through a smile or a joke, or some of his homemade soups or smoked meats, he always wanted the people around him to feel at home in his presence. He made holidays and birthdays special every year, and many relatives’ Christmases weren’t complete without a Topsy’s popcorn bucket or handwritten card from him.
Skipper found peace and fellowship on the golf course and loved the rush of swimming. He believed in the value of friendship and treating others with respect. Long-time friends became extended family members and he never missed a chance to let people know they were loved. I know that we, as his family, are not alone in mourning his loss.
Skipper was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey E. Alexander II and Norma Jane Ward-Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his children, Desmian and Dewey IV; his brothers, Anthony and Elton; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who love and miss him more than words can express.
In honor of Skipper, we invite those who loved him to post their thoughts and memories of him. Thank you all for the love and support. He is truly missed.
