Obituary
Delorise Marie Runnels, lovingly known as “Dee”, aged 66, passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2024 at her home in Fayette, Mississippi surrounded with love.
Delorise was born March 14, 1958 to George “G.W.” Runnels and Louvellar “L.B.” Runnels. She attended Jefferson County High School and graduated in 1976. Afterwards, she relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana. While there she later became a mom to a baby girl, Erica Griffin. Delorise relocated back home to Fayette, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. Delorise went back to school to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Alcorn State University in 2009.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shanel Irene Griffin; her parents; her sisters, Irene and Imogene; her brothers, Carl and Larry and a niece, Iryanikka “Nikki” Runnels.
Delorise leaves behind her legacy and treasured memories to her daughter, Erica T. Griffin. Delorise is also survived by a sister and brother; an abundance of nieces and nephews, and countless relatives and friends.
