Dave built an incredible life of family, friends and adventure. I loved vacations in Maui, driving the road to Hana, visiting Japan, Mostly, I loved holidays and watching Erin, Andy, and Sean play sports as children. Getting a phone call from Dave on my birthday. I have so much left to tell him.

My deepest condolences to Kim, Dave's entire family, and all of his close friends. It’s hard to believe Dave is gone, and even harder to accept that he left us so young at 64. I’m truly sorry I can’t be there on February 6 to join you in celebrating his life—I’m in Europe for two more weeks—but my thoughts will absolutely be with you.
I met Dave back at Maine South in ‘75 though mutual friends. Those early years were filled with weekend parties in the woods, hanging out at the ranch, rock and roll, and fast cars. The last message I sent Dave on Facebook was a picture of his AMX 390.
As we moved into our 20s and our careers started taking shape, we kept in touch for road trips, parties, and of course, weddings. A favorite memory was driving nonstop to spring break in Daytona in my Mustang GT, switching drivers, and never being encumbered by the speed limit. A few of our group gatherings still make me smile: the time Dave asked out my date in front of me at a party, and of course, Kim and Dave’s wedding, where I hit on his sister. And then there’s the party in the photo I’m sharing—the one where all the girlfriends insisted the guys dress up for once even though the party took place in an unfinished basement! I chose this picture because it includes our dear departed friends, George and Svend. So many memories in one frame.
After I moved downtown in ’86, I didn’t see the gang as often, but every reunion with Dave felt easy and familiar. One especially great time was running into Kim and Dave at Arlington Park for the Friday races—just classic, effortless fun.
Dave will be deeply missed. His smile and good humor keep popping into my mind as I write this, and I know I’m not the only one feeling that way. He brought a lot of joy into the world, and I’m grateful for every moment we shared.
My heartfelt condolences to all who loved Dave.

"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were." Dave is remembered as my brother, a brother-in-law to Nancy, an uncle to Michael and Daniel, and a great-uncle to Hugo and Walter.

David, it was such a special experience to grow up together. Attending the same schools, taking family trips, sports, skiing.... we had so much fun together. Thank you for being a good friend and for always being same great person. You will be deeply missed.

Dave - Like so many, we were brought together by our kids and their activities. The memories are endless. From youth baseball, touring behind the scenes of Wrigley Field, vacationing on Lake Powell (including our flying bat infested houseboat), rafting the Colorado River and associated helicopter shuttle to the rim, and most recently navigating Sleeping Bear Dunes. It did not matter how many years passed between visits, our families picked up where we left off. Your smile and friendly demeanor never went unnoticed.

Dear David, I can't even begin to understand what your families going through. Their loss immeasurable. You were always so kind and such a genuine person. How blessed was I to grow up across the street as your neighbor and friend. So many great memories, flashlight tag, kick the can, YMCA, West Park... Jumping bushes on our walks to Carpenter and sharing lunches when one of our mothers wasn't able to be home. Lincoln, Maine South, sporting events, parties, dances... Thank you for sharing some of the most memorable times of my life with me. You will truly be missed. Rest in peace.
