He taught me what true courage looks like—it's not about never being afraid, but about facing fear and pain with grace and a heart full of hope. Even on his hardest days, when his body was tired, his soul remained bright, and his laughter echoed in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He lived with a joy that was infectious. It didn’t matter how he felt physically—his smile lit up every room, and his kindness touched everyone he met. He had a way of making you feel seen, of reminding you that life, no matter how fleeting or fragile, is meant to be cherished.
My brother was a fighter, but more than that, he was a teacher. He taught us the value of perseverance, the strength in vulnerability, and the beauty of a life lived with love and courage. He left behind not just memories, but lessons—lessons on how to live, how to love, and how to never, ever give up.
Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit remains. His smile, his laughter, his strength—they live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know and love him. He showed us that even in the darkest times, there is light, and that light is found in love, in resilience, and in the unwavering belief that every moment, every breath, is a gift.
Rest well, my dear brother. You fought the good fight. You smiled through it all. And now, your spirit is free. You will forever be my hero, and I will carry your light with me always.
I will Always Love You

I remember your diagnosis of leukemia and family and friends gathered around you; praying and helping. It was through watching everyone care so much about you and praying for you that made me want to get saved. I knew that the God those people were praying to had to be powerful. They truly believed that their prayers would deliver you and those prayers did. Your remission lasted for a long time.
It took bravery and hope for you to return to school after being hospitalized for so long and with a shaky start, you got back into the groove of school.
I partially witnessed you as a teenager going through high school as a football player and basketball mentor to the Lady Jackets. You were so cool and so smooth with the ladies that you gained a reputation for yourself lol.
Eventually you grew up and I moved out and you started a family of your own. In your last years of life, I witnessed you trying to do for your family when your body refused to cooperate. Many may not know but your love and devotion for your kids kept you going and kept you trying til you had nothing left to give.
Your death, as painful as it was to witness, was a testament to your enduring strength and to the fact that you never gave up in the fight. Even when others had thrown in the towel, you were holding on.
Even in your sick bed you managed to make friends and bring people together. I am forever thankful for the times we got to share with one another. Mama and daddy are so proud of you and we as a family love you so much! Keep daddy company and I am sure, I will see you around!
With love,
