Obituary
Cory Todd Koontz, born October 9, 1961, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Moses Lake, Washington, on December 11, 2025.
Cory is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lori Koontz; his son, Cory (CJ) Koontz; his mother, Barbara Ballard; his stepmother, Joan Koontz; his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Cory Koontz; his step sister Ondra Ward and step brother Michael McGuire, his sister-in-law Beth Koontz; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Koontz; his brother, Tim Koontz; and his stepson, Jesse Sebade.
Cory was born in Seattle and raised in Bellevue, Washington. Growing up in Vasa Park, he graduated from Sammamish High School in 1980. He purchased a home in Fall City, where he lived for 35 years, before relocating to Moses Lake in January 2025. Cory worked for Mastercraft Industries for 20 years before becoming self-employed in construction, where he worked until his retirement.
Cory’s greatest joy in life was raising his sons, Jesse and CJ. He cherished spending time with them and took pride in teaching them how to ride motorcycles, drive cars, and navigate life’s many lessons. One of Cory’s biggest passions in life was riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his many friends. He enjoyed several trips to Sturgis, and rides throughout the Snoqualmie Valley. Cory was a forgiving person that genuinely cared deeply about people. He had a unique way of making family out of all his friends. He will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at North Fork Farm on December 20, 2025.
