Obituary
In loving memory of Claudia Heyer, who passed away leaving behind a cherished legacy of unwavering faith, service, and profound warmth. Born in Campobasso, Italy, in 1975, Claudia lived a life defined by her devotion to her faith, her family, and her international community. Her journey took her to London, where she embraced new beginnings, fell in love, and met her beloved husband, Bjoern, originally from South Africa, serving in Malawi. Together, they shared a deep bond rooted in shared values and a spirit of service. Driven by a desire to help others and share their faith, Claudia and Bjoern spent years in Malawi as dedicated missionaries and Bethelites, serving the community with tireless zeal, hospitality, and joy. In recent years, Claudia returned to her roots in Italy, settling in Verona. As an active and cherished member of the Verona English Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, her kindness, encouragement, and strong faith continued to touch the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bjoern, as well as extended family, friends, and spiritual brothers and sisters around the world who will miss her dearly, while holding fast to the hope and memories she leaves behind.

Nata a Campobasso, in Italia, nel 1975, Claudia ha vissuto una vita segnata dalla devozione alla sua fede, alla sua famiglia e alla sua comunità internazionale. Dearest Bjoern,
There are no words to describe the pain and emptiness that Claudia has left in our hearts too. Only Jehovah can truly heal that pain.
We are so grateful to Jehovah for April 23, 2023—the day we met in Ferrara. We will never forget it. Do you remember? Our little group, our walk around the castle… From the very beginning, we could see what an extraordinary couple you are. Your positive spirit, your love of life, your love for others, your genuine brotherly affection, your empathy, and the special bond between you—all these qualities made us love you both so much.
We think of you so often. You have taught us so much, and you continue to do so. We share some similar experiences, and knowing how you have overcome certain difficulties helps us see things from a different perspective. It encourages us to be more positive and to follow your example. Even through the deepest pain, you and Claudia have taught us how precious it is to live each day to the full, with joy and in service to Jehovah, because we do not know what tomorrow will bring, and we do not want to have any regrets. We never saw sadness in your eyes or heard a single complaint, despite your suffering… The way you lived and treated others made you both so approachable and so easy to love.
Thank you for everything you have given us. As Brother Denny said in his talk, you have given us far more than we could ever give you in return.
We are sure that our friendship will continue until the day we can see our beloved Claudia again… and then for all eternity!

Dear Bjoern and family. It's taken a while to gather my thoughts. We met Claudia while you were still courting. There was so much Amore! (For those who don't know, I've known Bjoern since he was my friend Ilona's little brother, running around a chicken farm in Klapmuts). We blinked and we were all grown up! Years later, we met Claudia. Knowing her was such a privilege. She radiated joy and love for Jehovah. It was impossible not to be drawn to her and want to be in her company. Thank you for making time for us every time you visited Cape Town. We cherish our memories of many conversations and lots of delicious food enjoyed together. There was always a whole lot of Amore!
We look forward to meeting her again when we are in Jehovah's new world. Bjoern, we would love to see you when you visit Cape Town.

We only met Claudia and Bjoern more recently in pioneer school, but we felt like we have known them for many years. Their example of faith, resilience, and love truly touches us. Often when we are at home or out in the ministry their example comes to mind, and we would like to show the same love for people and same beautiful qualities. It was an unexpected gift that we could spend a little time together in Verona after the school and we will always treasure these memories. We can't wait for the beautiful reunion in the new world when we can say to Claudia "Ciao Bella". We send our hugs, love, and warm thoughts and prayers. Claudia and Bjoern took us under their wings in Mzuzu, Malawi, in a time when we were in need of good friends. And they did it like it was the most natural thing in the world to do... Which it of course was – for them.
Here are some thoughts about Claudia:
She was beautiful – but her heart was even more beautiful.
She was happy – and full of benevolent mischeif.
She was the epitome of Christian ”joi de vivre”.
She had a generous heart, as a Christian should have. It was like an African bus – always room for one more…

My fellow Aunty Claudia. We shared a special bond over our nieces, Amy & Zara. You were always kind to me from the day we first met and we first bonded over the marriage of our siblings Chris & Letizia. Your example of moving to different countries to serve and be right in the heart of the truth was really encouraging to me.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear Claudia and want to express our heartfelt condolences to you all.
When Claudia joined our congregation in Ealing as a regular pioneer, she quickly became a very dear friend. We have such fond memories of those years—from welcoming her parents into our home when they visited London, to my delight in giving Claudia her first African outfit because of her love of different cultures. Nearly 20 years later, she sent me a photo proudly showing that she could still wear it! That is a memory I will always treasure.
When Claudia and Bjoern married in Verona on 15 September 2007, we were so happy to be there to support them. Although the years and distance meant we saw each other less often, we always kept in touch from time to time and remained very fond of them both.
We are devastated by Claudia’s loss and our hearts go out to all of you. At such a painful time, we hold especially dear Jesus’ promise at John 5:28, 29 of the time when those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. How we long for the day when Claudia will hear that call.
We pray that Jehovah, together with the love and support of the brothers and sisters, will give you the strength and comfort you need during this very difficult time. Whilst we wait for the paradise to come, when death and pain will be no more,

To Bjoern and Claudia’s family,
When Bjoern and Claudia joined our congregation four years ago it didn’t take us long to realise that two very special persons had joined us.
They both loved life and people and despite their difficulties they were often the ones to encourage us!!!
Claudia was a very special friend to me and our family. We have so many wonderful memories of our time spent together, eating, laughing and playing.
She was so determined and so willing especially in the ministry. Preaching with her was a living lesson, she was so loving and kind that she gave a 360 degree witness each time… she truly lived what she preached.
I will miss her smile and how always she was concerned for the wellbeing of others… especially Bjoern, they loved and cared for each other so much.
I know that very soon Job 14:15 will be accomplished and i can’t wait because I know I will embrace the real Claudia.

Claudia was a very good friend to me. She was a people person. She was willing to learn new things and even new cultures. I will remember her for so many things. Ie: we used to call each other “azimayi” or “azi” (short form) meaning “the women.” I don’t remember why, but that was our tittle. 😍
Then Bjoern and Claudia moved to a congregation where they met with my cousins (twin sisters) they studied the Bible with them until the girls got baptized. Our bond continued strengthening. 💕
Claudia and Bjoern also gave me and Wilson so many gifts 🎁 that we always cherish.
Its heart breaking to lose her, but I am very much looking forward to welcoming her back soon

Provo un profondo dispiacere per Claudia, la ricordo con grande affetto da quando era una giovane e volenterosa adolescente. Ma come ci ricorda la scrittura di Luca. 20: 37,38 per Geova quelli che ci hanno lasciato sono tutti viventi e io terrò presente Claudia nei miei pensieri fino a che la rivedremo, molto presto, nel nuovo mondo. Sincere condoglianze a tutta la famiglia.

I am so, so sorry for your loss - most of all for Bjoern, but also everyone else who knew and loved Claudia, family and friends!
Something a brother once said to me gave me great comfort, and also does now. Perhaps it helps some of you, too: "We are all still on the same train to the new world. Our loved ones who passed away are just in the sleeper car."
Claudia's and Bjoern's example is really outstanding. May Jehovah carry Claudia safely in his memory until we arrive at our train's destination, and give strength and comfort to all who now have to carry on without her!
Attached a photo from 2014, when too many of us squeezed into the back of Stella's car in Harold's Bay, South Africa. The picture always makes me laugh, even if now through tears, and is a very fond memory of a lovely day out enjoying Jehovah's beautiful creation.

Our sweet friend Claudia had a way of making people feel lighter, even when she herself was going through a difficult time. She was so full of life and never once complained. She always had a genuine smile on her face. She was a reminder that life is too precious to spend it constantly focusing on what we cannot change.
Her love for Jehovah, her love and concern for people, her strength, her positive attitude, her kindness, and her beautiful smile will always be a part of the memories I have of her.

Purtroppo non ho mai conosciuto Claudia, ma il suo esempio di zelo, sicuramente ereditato dalla sua cara mamma, ha raggiunto me, ragazza di provincia, mentre da adolescente studiavo la Bibbia. L’esempio suo e di sua sorella mi hanno incoraggiata a pormi obiettivi spirituali. Anche se poi non sono mai andata a servire all’estero (o non ancora) ho il privilegio di servire come pioniera da 10 anni e non vedo l’ora di fare la scuola dei pionieri con sua madre.
Nella sua vita Claudia ha dimostrato quanto sia vera la scrittura di Proverbi 22:1. Non vedo l’ora di poterla finalmente conoscere nel Nuovo Mondo che verrà..that is just around the corner.

La qualità che per me meglio definisce Claudia è la TENACIA.
Si, perchè nonostante le difficoltà non si è mai rassegnata, non l'ho mai sentita lamentarsi ma era sempre pronta a una nuova avventura, perchè per lei ogni giorno era un'avventura da vivere fino in fondo. E questo lo prendo come esempio.
Alla famiglia voglio dedicare queste parole del nostro creatore Geova: Isaia 66:13 "Come una madre consola il figlio, così io continuerò a consolare voi...".

Even though we got to know sister Claudia in recent years we really appreciate and commend her zeal.
No matter her conditions she would always be present at the ministry and meetings with a smile saying she was fine.
That kept encouraging us to always keep doing our best with a smile just as she always did.
She always cared for brothers and sisters and especially children in the congregation.
The news was really sad, but we know that she is in Jehovah’s loving care and we can't wait to be reunited with her soon.❤️🌺

I really miss Sister Claudia. She was a wonderful sister and an example to all of us. I am holding tightly to the resurrection hope, and I look forward to the day when we will see her again.

Sister Claudia is a special person I realized my daughter Chiara love her so much she will look for her every assembly or convention and asked me to go and great her and l always do that also if Sister Claudia sees me without Chiara she will always asked some times we will meet in the hospital for blood test and my daughter always cry to do this test i remember Sister Claudia will beg her tell her that she dose the test more often than Chiara that Chiara should be strong and my daughter remember everything that Claudia said To her .to me Claudia will always look at me into my eyes and tell me be strong Sarah and when I told Chiara about Claudia death i could not believe what i saw my daughter cried so much and i told her if she respect jehovah and do his will she will see Claudia again that was when I could understand how deep she love her she was a nice Sister and close to everyone even children could bond with her we love her so much we pray jehovah should give strength to family member

We met Claudia back in June 2015 together with her husband when they were visiting for Letizia (her lovely sister/my dear friend) in Hong Kong.
It was nice knowing her since then and we are so looking forward to seeing her again in the new world. We love you very much, Claudia ❤️❤️

Profondamente rattristata , ho voluto bene a Claudia per la persona che era e che è . È nella mente e nel cuore di tutti noi, ma soprattutto di Geova . Un abbraccio a tutta la famiglia , in particolar modo a Letizia e a Carmela ❤️
