The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit. - Psalm 34:18
Obituary
With deep sorrow and yet unwavering faith in God’s mercy, we announce the passing of Clarence Ricardo Wallace.
Clarence, born September 10, 1961, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 64 on May 7, 2026.
Clarence was born in Albert Town, Jamaica, and spent his formative years in Kingston, where he attended Meadowbrook High School (Class of 1978). During his time there, he excelled in sports—particularly soccer and cricket—and proudly represented his high school teams. His talent was even recognized in the local newspaper, and his family was thrilled to see his name published in the Jamaica Gleaner.
In March of 1980, he and his twin sister Lyn immigrated to Canada, where he worked diligently to establish himself as a Personal Trainer and Health and Safety Expert.
Clarence was the Valedictorian of the inaugural graduating class of the Exercise Science and Health Promotion program at Sheridan College in 2012. He frequently volunteered at CanFitPro conferences and taught CPR, First Aid, and Working at Heights training for many years. Known for his gifted speaking and leadership skills, he was often praised for his excellence as an instructor.
His life was marked by ambition, faith in Christ, and deep love for his family and friends. Clarence will be remembered for his good-natured humour, poetic creativity, and passion for health and wellness. His artistic eye was also evident in his fashion. He was known for his hats, shoe collection, and his bold, impeccably tailored attire.
Clarence was a spirited conversationalist who cared deeply about justice and made others—whether friends or strangers—feel valued through his kindness and encouragement. He truly had the gift of exhortation. Worship, prayer and the truth of the Bible were central to Clarence’s life, reflecting his deep belief in God’s power.
He leaves behind his two beloved children, twin sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. He is also survived by his wife, with whom he shared over 30 years of his life. Clarence’s legacy continues through the life-saving skills he taught others, his caring heart, and his acts of kindness. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. His loved ones take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and saviour.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service in memory of Clarence on May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The service will be held at 7755 Tenth Line West at Hope Church Mississauga. In these moments of remembrance, may all who knew Clarence’s warmth and compassionate heart find comfort in his lasting impact.
Clarence will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
“Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
