To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
Obituary
After a life defined by hard work and even harder laughs, Chris Moeller passed away on January 12 in his favorite chair.
To know Chris was to have a friend for life. Over the course of our 3 decades of friendship, he proved himself to be the kind of person who was always there when it mattered—loyal to a fault and generous beyond measure. He had a way of making every gathering more fun just by being there.
Chris made his living as a union pile driver and welder, leaving his mark on many bridges around Puget Sound over the course of decades of labor. He was the kind of man who could build or fix anything, yet he remained incredibly humble; he never quite realized how smart he actually was, even as he was out-maneuvering opponents on the chessboard.
He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, deep friendships, and the memory of a man who gave more than he took.

We are saddened to share the news that Chris Moeller, PCS Journey Pilebuck, was found deceased at his home on Friday, January 16, 2026. Chris was 48 years old.
Chris joined PCS in October 2021 as an Emergency Hire and became a full‑time employee in October 2022. As a Journey Millwright, he brought exceptional skill, craftsmanship, and pride to his work. His contributions can be seen across many of our projects, including structural repairs, ladders and handrails, security fencing, catwalks, and shoreline restoration. He loved working around the water and was always willing to share his knowledge with others.
Beyond his technical abilities, Chris was known for being kind, well‑liked, and generous with his time. Many of you also knew him as an accomplished chess player who enjoyed teaching and challenging others.
To honor Chris and support one another during this difficult time, we will be holding a gathering at the L&M Fire House in Orting on Thursday, January 22, 2026, beginning at 3:15 p.m. All employees and coworkers are welcome to attend.
Please take care of yourselves and one another as we process this loss. If you need support, we encourage you to reach out to someone you trust or use available employee resources.
