In Loving Memory of Chandra Prabha Sharma
Shraddhanjali — श्रद्धांजलि
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Chandra Prabha Sharma — beloved wife of the late Prem; mother of Venkatesh (with Babeena) and Devesh (with Prerna); grandmother of Kamakshi (with Aakash), Ashutosh, Avyakta, and Yuvaan; dear sister of Shashi (with late Ramesh) and Shyam (with Kalpana), loved sister-in-law to Jatindra (with Deepa), loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and cherished member of the Sharma and Kumaria families; and a dear friend to many in the Pittsburgh community — who peacefully departed this life on June 14th, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on June 2nd, 1943, in Bombay, India, Chandra lived a life guided by Dharma, Seva, Karuna, and Prem. She devoted these values especially to her family, serving as both a nurturing matriarch and a leader in the Sharma family business, Aquatech. Through a life filled with panache and grace, she touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, grit, and integrity.
Please join us in praying for her Atma to attain Sadgati and Moksha.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti — ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः।

I remember many years back when I refused to get involved in a project for her,she called and said I have to take the project ,can't refuse.I felt so good like a good friend and brother. She fed me with her delicious food everything I go to her home .I will always miss her.
When she had health issues later I had hard time to see her .
She worked hard and sacrifice so much to raise Venki and Davesh and took care rest of her family yet had suffer so much later.
I feel sad and also relieved.
I pray for her soul.May Lrod Venkateswara whom she had deep faith bless her with eternal peace.

A legend, caring and loving lady has left a vacuum in the lives of all near & dear ones.
I know & met her during marriage celebrations
of Prerna & Devesh& afterwards in Mumbai & Pittsburg. Enjoying & encouraging all to participate in various events. Always cared for everyone in distress. Always reciprocated with unforgettable smiles.
No words to describe her huge persona.
May God grant peace to the religious, pious soul. Om Shanti.

People have said how she was an inspiration and role model, but to me she was the blueprint. I often felt like a protege, trying to live up to this iconic woman. So full of grace, charm, immeasurable strength, and devotion to her god and family. Her aura has seeped into the bones of everyone who has had the privilege to know her. Whether she was wearing a fashionable sari or strolling through the house in her comfy dressing gown (which was a majority of the time) she was one of those persons who made her presence known, but also would naturally draw the gaze of every person in the room because she radiated elegance and confidence. She knew exactly how to get what she wanted, and would not take no for an answer. I was often nervous to answer her calls knowing I was probably going to get talked into doing something by the end of it. Some might call that bossy, but these days we refer to that as “CEO energy.” She was strategic, clever, and resourceful - making all the Slytherins proud. Above all she was the most devoted and loving daughter. I got to know Chotti Buaji so much more because of how often she would visit or call her parents in California (my grandparents who lived with us). There’s a reason she was her parent’s favorite child - their “Baby”!
It’s impossible to live up to the legacy of the great Chandra Sharma. From all that she accomplished to all that she commanded. There is nobody in this world like her. And that was the biggest lesson from my years of study - I am not her copy and nobody can be. But I must unabashedly be myself and charge through this life like I own it, Buaji style. I will forever love and remember this legendary lady.

Whenever she came to India, many times she prepared her Special Masala tea & we, me, Sharmila & Chandra Mam enjoyed it. She was fond of Masala Tea & Pintus.
She came to my son's threading ceremony with Mrs. Jaitly. We enjoyed a lot, took many photographs. She talked to each family member.
She was very caring & lovable person.
Will miss you, Chandra Mam....
We have many sweet memories of Chandra which we will cherish always. She often teased me and reminded me to dress with style and enjoy life fully. Despite her declining health, when I and Oni visited – we would get her acknowledgement in a smile from her.
We respect and admire every one of you for being so strong till the end; without giving up, showering tons of love and care.
Our prayers and condolences.
On those days remember those stories then and smile.
You were the best sons and she did an amazing job.

Soon after she became more visible with her frequent visits to Pune and the interactions became more. Her energy became infectious. and there was activity all around. The corridors of ASA would become vibrant with her presence and her smile.
Found that Mam was actually so warm under her perfect demeanor and would remember the names of our spouse and kids and what they do. She even used to say that i was lucky to be married to George. The good quiet chap :)
She would ensure some bonding activities with the women of ASA which we just enjoyed. She was very health conscious and would encourage us to be. She was also compassionate.
Last few years we missed her presence in ASA.
It was amazing to know how many hearts she touched and how many lives she inspired during the talks.
I sincerely pray to the Lord to guide her to eternal peace.
Regards
Ajanta

Soon after I got married in 1970, Chandra didi and Prem Jijaji started life afresh in USA/Canada. During their 1st six months of exploring opportunities in this new environment they entrusted me, a new bride in a new land - London , with caring for 4-year old Venkee. From then on, the bonds grew stronger.
She was ambitious and focused. She completed her degree to become a dietitian even though she had to live apart from jijaji for couple of years. She gave her full hearted support to jijaji when he started his business venture of Aquatech; Which is now a flourishing international company, thanks to her inspiration.
She was always very caring of all the family . Helped in our time of need. I can never forget when Shyam faced health challenges and I was recovering with newborn Sonu 10 days old with young Tanya and Anuja kids at home, and old grand parents at home, Chandra didi came out and stayed to help us for a few weeks.
She enjoyed going on cruise trips with family. Loved shopping in Hong Kong market and Mumbai Santa Cruz market. She would put wholehearted efforts in planning events whether it be a family party or official. She organized one of a kind wedding of her sons and initial life events of her grandkids.
She has always been the role model for us; especially where fashion and dress up sense mattered. Very dynamic personality and at the same time very religious. She will be missed.

We will surely miss her for this & so much more - nonetheless she led a full life, has more than done her part & left us with tons of wonderful memories - all of which deserve to be honoured & celebrated
Condolences to all family members
& Pray to God her departed soul joins Prem Uncle in attaining nirvana at God's lotus feet, and, to give strength to all near & dear ones to bear this great loss
Privileged with the special blessings & affection she had showered on all of us
With sincere regards
On behalf of the Ranka Family
