Carol Ann Smith-Wright, a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt & grandmother of Sparks, Nevada, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 20, 1944, Carol lived a life full of love, generosity, and compassion.
Throughout her life, Carol was known for her warm smile, kind heart, sharp sense of humor and an unwavering dedication to her family. She was a cherished wife to Lloyd Wright, whom she married in a ceremony as beautiful as it was simple, in Carmel California.
Carol was a devoted mother to son's Todd & Scott and stepmother to Steve & Sandy. Son in laws - Michael Clancy & Ron Westerberg and her daughter in laws Darlene Wright & Cherie Smith. Her children and their families, were her priority and were the center of her world. Her pride in their accomplishments was evident to all who knew her.
A resident of Sparks for 25 years, Carol enjoyed life post retirement from Volunteers of America as a senior housing manager/ coordinator . After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, knitting, crocheting - making many beautiful Afghans for family & friends. She treasured spending the holidays with her family & friends. She made an impact by always being someone you could count on for support or an ear to listen. Her compassionate nature and selfless actions left a lasting impact on many lives, and she will be fondly remembered by friends and neighbors alike.
Carol had an infectious laugh and sense of humor, which she shared openly with her family and friends. She had a way of making situations fun when they wouldn't be otherwise.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Carol is survived by her loving children Todd Smith, Scott Smith, Steven Wright, Sandy Wright. Grandchildren, Matthew Westerberg, Alana Garvey, Melissa Barawed, Matt Barawed, Shara Wright, Teresa Wright, & Ryan Smith. Sisters, Sandra Lagarda, Patricia Bradley, Laura Pinedo, Michele Meacham & Brother Thomas Solors. Her Gambling partner & sister-in-Law Janice Wright, and sister-sister-in Law Jean Bullard and her beloved dog Baker and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
As her family, we invite all who knew and loved Carol to celebrate her well-lived life. Please join us July 19th @ 1 pm to celebrate and share stories of Carol. Food & Drinks to be provided.
