Obituary
Carla Jean Hale, aged 82, passed away on July 25, 2025, in her hometown of Colorado Springs, CO. Born on August 22, 1942, she was a proud graduate of Colorado Springs High School. Her career was spent in the financial world working with several institutions including Exchange National, Colorado National and Ent Credit Union. Carla was a prolific quilt maker and she wanted to be remembered for “making good quilts”. She was a founding and long term member of the CO Quilting Council and was involved with multiple quilting groups, including Piecing Partners. Carla also shared her expertise by teaching quilting through Dist. 11 Continuing Education and Park & Rec Services. Her love for reading led her to participate in numerous book groups and she volunteered her time with Friends of the Library as well as with the Westside Historical Society. Preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Hale and survived by her brother, Donald Hale of Scotland; nieces Heather Hale of Scotland & Kerri Williams of Colorado Springs; nephews Bryan Hale of Colorado Springs & Kevin Hale of California; 5 great nieces; 4 great, great nephews; 2 great, great nieces; and stepdaughter Elizabeth Pheasant of Seattle. Carla’s life was marked by her contributions to both her professional field and her personal passions.
