Caleb John Reed, age 42, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on May 6, 2025 in Tulsa. Caleb was born in Pullman, WA in 1982 to Hal and Nancy Reed. Caleb graduated from Memorial High School, Tulsa in 2001, earned a bachelor’s from Judson College in 2006, and a Master of Architecture from University of Kansas in 2009, where he received numerous awards and grants for his work. Caleb married his high-school sweetheart, Jeannie, in 2006. In 2011, they welcomed their son, Roscoe Reed, into the world while living in Norway. A talented architect, Caleb worked for renowned firms around the world, including Arkitektfirma Helen & Hard in Norway, Marmol-Radziner in Los Angeles, and Marlon Blackwell in Fayetteville, before returning to Tulsa to launch his independent architecture practice FIELDSPACE and joining Freese Architecture. Drawing from an abiding love for vernacular architecture and the Oklahoma landscape, ecology, and history, Caleb spent the last eight years designing and building innovative homes for himself and for long-time friends on Wild Mountain in Osage County.
Caleb’s wild, creative spirit and generous, playful presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. Caleb is survived by his partner Jeannie Reed, their son Roscoe Reed, siblings Courtney, Christian, and Cameron Reed, father Hal Reed, and step-mother Mary Christian-Reed. Caleb joins his mother, Nancy Harris Reed in death.

God Bless,
Bill C.
I have always been impressed by Caleb's natural coolness, his calm confidence and his dedication to any project he turned his interest onto. Like exploring the rough Stavanger countryside on a rusty bike he of course had fixed himself.
When Caleb and Jeannie moved back to the US, for years I tried to get back in touch with Caleb. It was such a joy when Jeannie and Roscoe visited Norway some time ago and we got back in contact.
Then, last summer, our families finally were able to meet, spending some beautiful days in London together, playing basketball, throwing passes with the "cheapo" football, just spending quality time together.
Caleb is deeply missed. I wish you, Jeanny and Roscoe and your families, all the strength in the world to cope with this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Caleb.

Caleb is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met. Mostly because he didn’t care about being cool at all. Caleb is one of the few key people in my life who helped me understand the significance of just being myself and not being overly concerned about others’ opinions. As a young man, that was an important thing to grasp.
There was never a dull moment when Caleb was around…
-Most competitive soccer players brought a big jug of ice water to practice- Caleb often filled his jug with root beer
-Most of us warmed up for games like every other soccer player (in our cleats and our team training top)- Caleb warmed up in his socks and a Grateful Dead t-shirt…or sometimes without a shirt.
-I think there have only been two times in my life when I’ve hidden from the police, and both were with Caleb. We weren’t doing anything malicious— but Caleb loved to explore and push boundaries, and that occasionally landed us in places we technically weren’t supposed to be.
My two oldest sons have soccer tournaments in Dallas this weekend (my wife is taking them). Caleb and I spent plenty of nights in Dallas hotels for tournaments like Dallas Cup. Hopefully none of my son’s teammates sweet-talk the front desk into handing over a key to our family’s room so they can sneak in and pull pranks—but if they do, I guess that’s fair payback for the times Caleb and I pulled the same stunt on our teammates back in the day.
Cheers to Caleb. A guy worth celebrating!
My heart breaks to read this sad news. Our paths crossed when Monica & Courtney became friends, and of course, Caleb and the little boys and your family were at AuSable.
My deepest condolences in your time of sorrow, for your family, Caleb's wife & child and those whose lives Caleb touched.
Warmly,
Mary Pecar (Griffore)
