With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a life so deeply cherished. Your love, kindness, and memories will forever remain etched in our hearts. Though you are gone from our sight, you will never be gone from our lives.
May your soul rest in eternal peace, and may we find comfort in god whom you served.

Obituary

In Loving Memory of
CHINYERE CHRISTY OKORO (Nee Awgu)

With profound sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and sister Chinyere Christy Okoro (Nee Awgu), who departed this life on December 10, 2025.

She was truly a proverbial woman of substance, a proud native of Daezim Village, Isulo, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State, Nigeria. The first daughter of Chief M. C. Awgu and Mrs. Christiana Awgu. Chinyere embodied the warm inner strength of her traditional heritage and carried herself with grace, dignity, humility and the love of God. Her life reflected Godly character, deep empathy, and genuine compassion, which she freely shared with everyone she encountered.

Chinyere lived a life marked by service, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the care of others. Her professional journey reflected these values, as she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her work and those she served. After a distinguished and dedicated career spanning more than 35 years, Mrs. Okoro concluded her professional journey with her final years of service at Colonel By Retirement Home, where she continued to serve with compassion, diligence, and commitment.

Chinyere was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Chimeruo (Daughter) and Kelechi (Son), Grandchildren, Chekwubechukwu, Oluebube, Jedidiah, Ifeoma and Chisom, son-in-law Ikechukwu, daughter-in-law Alima, siblings Felix, Nwamaka, Nne, Ebere, Ndidi, Chiadikaobi, Amara and Ikenna, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, close relatives and friends who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her nurturing spirit will continue to guide them.

Though we grieve her loss, our consolation is knowing that she lived a life filled with genuine love for God, family, friends and also embodied a strong prayer life. We loved her dearly, and she will be deeply missed. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. AMEN!
