Dear Bukka anna, I had the priviledge of hosting you when you came to Bangalore twice. There are few people with whom it is effortless to just be, to talk and share our lives. You were one such person . The joy and ease with which you carried life is admirable. It took me a while to accept and write something. You are deeply missed.

I have been visiting Bukka every year for last ten years whenever I visit Germany.
He used to stay with me whenever he visited ashram.
When we miss someone like Bukka who was so animated, it became a meditative process to me to delve deeper into the Beyond or what this is all about.
We are all in the Lap of the Master.

It was beautiful to have you around during our teacher training. Will cherish the time when you came to kolkata and got a chance to take you around. Your kindness and warmth will always stay with me. You will always be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect.

Dear Bukka, I have known you since 2014. You were such an inclusive person. Whenever you visited our place, you brought a beautiful warmth with you. We shared so many programs together, and you were an amazing friend. We cooked, laughed, and travelled across Europe for the Save Soil movement together. Whenever a difficult situation arose, you handled it with complete ease, immediately comforting and calming anyone who was angry. You always made people feel understood. I cannot believe that we won't see you anymore. It is a complete shock. Life is so uncertain and fragile, reminding us never to take anything for granted.

Dear Bukka
We never met in person - and will now never meet : (
And we have been in touch through payment queries, text messages, emails, chase ups for years & years.

The most gentle messages and sweet reminders would come from you asking - akka... please pay. We are completely heart-broken. However we do know - you lived your life to the MAX, doing exactly what mattered to you. Your laughter, gentleness, your willingness to move through challenges, all of it - will be remembered in our hearts. You will be remembered as a core part of Isha Europe for forever. You will be remembered as the Isha Hatha Teacher who brought hatha programmes to many European cities.

You will be sorely missed. May the grace take you forward to the new heights & depths. You left an impact on my mind - time is really brief for all of us. With so much love & gratitude, we let you go x

Namaskaram sweet Hari/Bukka

Your smile, kindness, energy and sense of fun will be dearly missed.

It's still a shock to imagine you are not with us.

I am so grateful we met and shared some lovely moments during our training in 2013 and afterwards. I will never forget this time when we were teaching and volunteering in NL and danced all together in the kitchen ! What a choreography!!!

May your soul be happy and at peace wherever you are right now.

Thinking of your closed family and friends too,

With love & care,

Brother, there is no way I can contain everything here. I have decided to write something proper later. There still some 0.01% that wants to still believe a miracle will occur, I know foolishly so.

I know you’d laugh at me just for that. I’m so very grateful that we were in the same batch. Even more grateful we continued the friendship afterwards. In recent upgrades when you did not attend you the one I missed because you’re the only other one who doesn’t take things too seriously and likes to cause mischief! That mischievous smile and laugh is what I will miss the most and even as I write this, it makes me smile.

I can categorically say there are not many like you and to think of a world without is still something I struggle to accept.

Whether it’s talking isha, football or even general things about life, it’s really not going to be the same.

The fact you were so popular in the ashram having been there a short time, says it all. I don’t know anyone else who could do that in such short space of time.

You will leave a hole that no-one can fill. 🙏

Dear Bukka Anna,
My heart broke when I heard the news that you had left this physical world. I still find it difficult to believe that you are no longer among us.
The news immediately took me back to my days at the Yoga Center and to all the memories I have of you. I remember your care, your kindness, your warmth, and the way you always made people feel loved and supported. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to volunteer with you and to experience your beautiful nature so closely.
I am one of those many lives that was touched by you, Anna. Your gentle heart and loving nature left a deep impression on me. In many ways, you inspired me to become a more loving, compassionate, and caring person.
Some people come into our lives for a short time, but their presence stays with us forever. You were one such person in my life. Your physical presence may have left this world, but the love you gave, the lives you touched, and the goodness you shared will continue to live on through all of us.
Perhaps the body is only a temporary vessel, and the soul continues its journey beyond what we can see and understand. I pray that your soul finds eternal peace and continues its journey toward the Divine.
Thank you, Anna, for everything you gave. I will carry your love, your kindness, and your memory in my heart for the rest of my life.
You may have left this world, but you will never leave the hearts of those whose lives you touched.
Rest in eternal peace, Bukka Anna. 🙏🕉️

Bukka anna,

You would always address me as Thambi. You are one of the initial members of Isha Frankfurt and I still vividly remember IE 2020 in Frankfurt volunteering with you. You are always calm, relaxed and smiling.

You walked towards the Divine
with a longing that took you
to the mountains,
and somewhere along that sacred journey,
life reminded us of what we so easily forget;

that this life is fragile.
terribly, beautifully fragile.

I bow to your devotion.
I bow to the longing that carried you there.
I bow to the courage to seek something greater than this fleeting existence.

May your journey not be remembered
only for how it ended,
*but for what you were walking towards.

Namaskaram Bukka.

Dear Bukka Anna,

Although our paths may have crossed various times over the years through volunteering activities in Germany and across Europe, I came to know you mainly through your involvement with Sacred Walks.

What I remember most about you is your smile. No matter how demanding the situation was, you never seemed rushed or overwhelmed. You were always reassuring, supportive, and somehow able to bring lightness and laughter wherever you went. During Sacred Walks, when people were far from home and often in unfamiliar and uncomfortable surroundings, I am sure your calm and reassuring presence made so many people feel safe and cared for.

It is incredibly difficult to believe that someone so vibrant and so full of life is suddenly no longer with us.

Everything that has happened has reminded me very powerfully of how fragile and unpredictable life really is. We live as though tomorrow will naturally come, but in truth, nothing is guaranteed. Simply being alive, having the people we love in our lives, and being able to share even ordinary moments together are precious gifts that we should never take for granted.

Bukka Anna, thank you for the warmth, laughter, and sense of reassurance you brought to so many people. You will be deeply missed, and remembered with so much love.

Bukka,
Your laughter, is what I hear when I think of you. The light hearted, easy going, determined person I always knew you to be.
I met you and Simone during our training back in 2013, and we three instantly connected.
Sharing stories, enacting Sadhguru’s jokes from Samayama and doing one of the most pivotal journey of our lives together as family.

I cannot believe you aren’t here anymore.
You remain and will forever remain in one of my fondest memories.

Dear Bukka,

Whatever time we got to spend together was always so pleasant, positive, full of love and inclusiveness. Just the way you were was so inspiring and always left an impact on my heart. I don’t think you ever judged anyone, which is so rare. You had such a beautiful way of accepting people just as they were.

I still remember when you helped me get my Aadhaar card and patiently waited in those long lines with me. It was such a simple thing, but so incredibly kind of you. 🌺🙏🏼

Recently, when you were at the ashram, right before you left for Kailash, we happened to bump into each other. I was rushing for a funeral at the time, so I said we must catch up after your Yatra. I still can’t believe that will never happen now. I regret not joining you, Ramyata and Dennis a few days earlier, when they had invited me to meet you.

Ahhh… it makes no sense.

But I do feel that death isn’t random, and I find myself wishing that life could be more considerate, and that we could all leave this world with greater dignity.

Your passing has taught me some very deep lessons, and I am grateful to you for teaching me, unknowingly, through the way you were. I feel so fortunate to have had even the limited time I did with you, because the memories I have are so special, beautiful and full of warmth.

Thank you for inspiring so many of us to live a life filled with love, openness and inclusiveness.

You will be deeply missed, Bukka, but the love and the memories you have left behind will stay with us forever. 🌺🙏🏼

Bukka Anna ⭐

I’ve known you and Praveen Anna mainly through the Save Soil Journey in 2024 and a few other programs.

The few weeks I was part of the journey, and my interactions with you, have had a lasting impact on me. You were such a gentle being—calm and intense at the same time—always with a smiling face, ready to tackle any storm that came your way. Your joyful nature was infectious; you brought lightness, laughter, and warmth wherever you were.

I will also always remember the hot, tasty food you prepared for us with so much love. It was never just food—it carried your care, generosity, and the quiet joy with which you did everything. Those simple moments of sharing a meal feel especially precious now.

My mind still believes you’re out there tackling the storm, so that we can all see you again soon.

Hard to digest this

My heart is with your family and all people you've touched

Bukka,
13 years of being my Partner, my family. Even though this came to a stop I trusted that we will come together again as friends, human beings connected in love and the longing to grow for a long time.. and when we're old we would have told our story and laughted about all the stupid things we've done.

It just needed some more time. But then time was suddenly not there anymore.

I wish you had more time to experience this live.

I miss you with all my heart.

Sadhguru often asks us to remember how joyful we were at the age of 5, and to compare it to how joyful we are as adults. Bukka is someone whose joy never seemed to diminish. Always full of fun and mischief! A real example of how you don’t have to be dull and serious to get things done. What a wonderful bright and shining being. I am grateful to have had him in my life.

Dear Bukka,

I first met you and Simone during my Inner Engineering Completion in Berlin in 2015. You were there accompanying my very first steps with Isha as a volunteer.

And then I had a happy surprise seeing you two again when I arrived at the ashram in 2017 for my Hatha Yoga Teacher training. Your presence was a great support for me settling into a new place, it felt like a piece of home far away from home.

Your calm and quiet presence was a great support for all of us. You were always ready to help with a gentle kindness and I always felt safe in your presence, because you never judged anyone in their moments of weakness. You were a true example of how a volunteer should be and how a human being should be in the presence of others. I think we all looked up to that and learned from you.

I am very sad and my heart feels heavy after getting the news that you had to leave from this life so early. I wish that the world could have enjoyed more time in your presence and that you could have enjoyed more time living in this beautiful world.

May you have a wonderful experience in the beyond, embraced by the grace of Sadhguru. May you know the bliss of becoming one with the divine.

I am sending much love and strength to your family and friends. I hope that you will heal from the pain and find happiness again soon, as Bukka would have wished for you.

I met Mr.Bukka, as a close friend of my son Gowri Shankar a few years back and our meetings since then and till now were only a few times and brief. But the only time he was with me for a long period of time was during the wedding time of my son. What a lovely and pleasant human being he was!He was with me the whole day helping and sharing my work tirelessly and extending his help with his beautiful smile. After that Whenever my son sought him in times of need and help, he was ready to give his shoulder to lean and was a solace and soul mate to him. How much he is going to miss him in the coming days I could imagine with distress.
Tears are welling in my eyes and a squeezing pain and agony take over my heart.
Life and death are two sides of a coin .
So let us come to terms with the situation and pray his soul finds peace and shelter in the pleasant shades of Kailash, Lord Shiva's abode. Will never forget him till I leave this world.

Bukka ❤️

My heart sinks every time I think that you are no longer here with us. I still can’t believe that I won’t see you, talk to you or hear your laughter again.

I met you in 2017, and from that day you became so much more than a friend. You were always like an elder brother to me. You were always there for your friends, always ready to help, always spreading so much love and happiness wherever you went.

I keep thinking about the little memories… playing Frisbee in Ashram, all the laughter, your gentle and childlike soul. You had such a beautiful heart, Bukka. There was so much innocence and goodness in you.

You were one of those rare people who made everyone around you feel loved and happy. You gave so much of yourself to your friends and never thought twice about being there for us.

It hurts so much to know that you are gone. I wish I could see you one more time, hug you and tell you how much you meant to me.

You came into my life and truly blessed it. I will always be grateful that I met you and got to call you my brother.

I will miss you more than I can put into words.

Love you my brother. ❤️
You will always have a place in my heart, and I will carry your memories with me forever.

Dear Bukka,
I remember you from my training in 2018 — always supportive, always kind and with a smile on your face. Back in Germany you guided me through my first Hatha Foundation Program, and later we shared the Upgrade in the Netherlands and volunteering in Berlin. You moved through all of it with devotion and a heart that cared for everyone. I am grateful for every moment we crossed paths and the support you gave me.

Dear Bukka,

Thank you for your graceful presence, for your steady lead, for your uplifting laughter, jokes, and dances, and for carrying our group all the way to Kailash two years ago.

Even today, I’m holding on to hope and praying for a miracle to happen.

I remember our time together in Germany, working side by side to bring the programs. I remember your incredible sense of humour, your laughter, and the sheer joy you carried with you. You had a way of making things lighter.

And nothing was ever really an issue for you. Whatever the challenge, whatever needed to be done, you were there. You stepped in. You supported. You never made things complicated. Your presence could be counted on. You gave your time and energy so naturally, without making a big thing of it.

It is difficult to understand that such a joyful presence has suddenly become a memory.

I feel immensely grateful for the time we shared, for the work we did together, for the laughter, and for all the little moments that I will carry with me.

I do not know why the journey has taken this turn, or why it had to happen so suddenly. But I know that you walked a significant part of your journey in Sadhguru’s Grace. And I trust that Grace will carry you effortlessly beyond everything that binds you.

Bukka, as he was known to S5 group in 2024 Kailash Sojourn, was a true Isha volunteer whose life was shaped by devotion, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to inner growth. For him, the Kailash pilgrimage was never just a journey across mountains; it was a journey toward the sacred within.

In the recent Nepal floods, we lost him far too early. Yet, even in his passing, he remains a reminder of what it means to live intensely, to serve selflessly, and to walk the spiritual path with sincerity.

May his journey continue beyond these physical realms. May his spirit find the vastness he always sought. And may we carry forward his grace, his laughter, and his devotion as we remember him with love.

It has been a fortune and most pleasant memory to be your batchmate during HYTT 2013.

I fondly remember your steadfast devotion and warm laughter. Also the many ghost stories we passionately discussed at dinner time 😅

It was very tragic to hear of your passing after the Kailash Yatra. I am sure you would have been an incredible support to all involved right until the end 🩵

Bukka Anna,

I still remember our first meeting in Kathmandu with the 2024 S5 group. In those few days, we had so many wonderful conversations about the Isha journey, family, and so many other interesting things. I will always cherish those conversations and the connection we shared.

You were truly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. You always made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable, connected, and cared for. My heart still refuses to believe what has happened. I’m still holding on to hope, praying for the best, and hoping for a miracle. 🙏

You will always be remembered for the beautiful person you were, the conversations we shared, and the kindness you showed to everyone around you.

May you be safe, and may there still be a miracle. 🙏

I really got to know Bukka in 2017, when we were volunteering together for the teacher training program for the first time.

He had such a presence, whenever he walked into a room, he brought joy and excitement with him. Everyone felt it.

If there’s one thing I want to carry forward from him, it’s how deeply he showed up for people. Whatever you needed, he was there.

In the ashram, we used to go on long walks together, talking about everything, simple things, deep things, all of it. And just when the conversation felt like it was really going somewhere, he’d suddenly say “I go for pradakshana” and be gone 😅

When my wife and I visited my family in the Netherlands, and he found out we were there, he didn’t hesitate for a second, he drove straight from Germany to see us. He even met my mother that day, and left an impression on her that stayed.

Bukka, I will miss you. The memories I hold with you are dear to me.

Bukka at the time of writing it's not even been a week and a stubborn part of me still thinks and sees you there somewhere stuck in the mud, breathing through a small pocket of air and waiting endlessly for rescue, whilst another part of me sees the video of the immigration building being hit by an apocalyptical wall of mud and debris and thinks "how can anyone survive that?".

Anyway whether you are still with us or not right now I want to express so much gratitude for being a part of my live.

Your giggles and laughter are legendary for me because you were my next door neighbour during teacher training so well, frankly, I had no escape !!! 😁

So happy we could stay in touch since 2014 onwards as well, and visit each other.

You were part of a legendary event in Italy with other teachers, and visiting you was always fun, including the last one in May with my family. I always looked forward to your stories, to observe your compassionate and fun way of being and reflecting on things, but also always looked forward to simple things like you greeting me " eeeey Frankie babaaaa ".

This message is all over the place, but it doesn't matter. You know I love and respect you, now and always. If you're still alive, we'll all laugh together at my and everyone else's messages one day.

If you are elsewhere, well, than all of this matters more for us than for you. If you are indeed elsewhere, please carry only the good and leave everything else behind. Be free, and go wherever Creation has intended for you.

I love you my little brother, and if I have evolved as a human being it is in large part to the few inclusive, egoless, child-like and uncomplicated people like yourself I have had the privilege of meeting where I could just always lower my defenses and just be myself with zero fear of judgement.

I dont have a best definition for a friend
I dont know how a good friend should be
I dont know what a friend should do for you
For lifetimes maybe I did not know
You may say a friend should be inclusive
You may say a friend should be non judgemental
You may say a friend should be there always
You may say a friend should be trustworthy
You may say a friend should be loyal
I dont know all of those things
I just know one thing
A friend should be like "My Bukka"
My dear bukka
You have left a void that none can fill
You have cleaned your slate
You became pure enough so that this world couldn't hold you
And you left us to play fool in this meaningless drama
You maybe gone
But I will be a cheap reflection of you
To this world
Be in bliss "My sweet Bukka"
