Obituary

Brian Walter Call, 32, of Seymour, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. Brian was born on February 24, 1994, in San Bernardino, California, to the late Scott Brian Call and Melanie Cherene Call (Miller). 

Brian followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a CDL truck driver. Working both over the road and as a local driver, his affable nature allowed him to form many lasting friendships with the people he worked with. He loved the opportunity to travel and was proud to have visited all 48 contiguous states and Hawaii.

Brian had a gift for bringing people together and found genuine joy in making others happy. Whether he was hosting a backyard cookout, a Fourth of July fireworks show, a holiday gathering, or friends for a sports game, he loved creating opportunities for the people he cared about to laugh, relax, and make memories together. His warmth lit up the room, and his animated storytelling could keep family and friends entertained for hours. He was also a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team.

Above all, Brian was most proud of being a father to his two children. He wanted them to have a peaceful and loving childhood, and he took great pride in providing that for them. He loved them more than anything. Brian will be remembered for the love he gave his children, the friendships he built wherever he went, and the joy he brought to every gathering.

Brian is survived by his children, Declan Scott Call and Adalyn Raelee Call, and their mother, Kaylee Call (Cate); his brothers, David A. Call, fiancée Nicole, and Dylan R. Mize, wife Fatima; his maternal grandmother, Kathy I. Chatelain (Norris), and her partner, Chris; and best friends Michael Bragwell and Briana Offenbacher, along with extended family and many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Brian Call and Melanie Cherene Call (Miller), his grandfather, Fletcher Lonzo Miller Jr., and his cousin "Nate" Qualls.

A Celebration of Life and repast will be on Saturday, August 22 with details of time and location coming soon.

Brian's younger brother Dylan. Growing up, Brian had to do more for his younger brother than most and was always protective of him.

January

Moving to TN

Brian and his older brother David moved to Tennessee to be with their grandfather, Fletcher. Their younger brother Dylan would follow later that year. The move to Tennessee would be life changing for Brian, and Tennessee is where he made his life and home. He happened to move right next door to his future wife.

Graduation

High school graduation! At Seymour High School, Brian met his lifelong best friend Michael and played a year of football and track the next year. Brian would end up taking some criminal justice and general education classes at South College.

2014

Early Career

Brian eventually decided to make his career in trucking but needed to wait until he was 21. From 2013-2015, Brian worked varied jobs with his best friend Michael, including at a cookie dough factory and clothing store. He also worked a summer as a lifeguard with David at Splash Country and at Music Road Hotel with his uncle Nathan. However, reflecting his caring nature, Brian spent the most time as a home health aide alongside his mother Melanie. 

2015

June

Graduation from Trucking School

After about two months, Brian got his CDL license and began his trucking career. Starting at Western Express, he also worked at Falcon Transport, R&L Carriers and XPO. From 2015-2023 he worked over the road, where me met many close friends such as Tim Spurlock. His wife travelled with him at times, and together they found their dog Caroline, who they saved after she was abandoned. At R&L Carriers he even partner trucked with his father-in-law, Bob, for some time. Eventually, he was even forklift certified at his local run job. 

Through conversations with Brian, Dylan was inspired to investigate a career in logistics. Knowledge of Brian's perspective from the trucking side of the industry motivates Dylan today in his career to help trucker's schedules so they can get home to their families.

First Ohio State Game

A lifelong Ohio State fan, through his dad, Brian had always wanted to go to a game. He finally got the chance when he visited David in Madison, WI. As would become an interesting coincidence of the games Brian went to, the Buckeyes were able to win a thrilling close game in overtime 30-23. He even got to experience College GameDay for the first time.

First Ohio State Game at the Shoe

Brian happened to be trucking through Columbus at the time of this game, so David quickly drove down to join him for the game. Ohio State came back after being down 12, and Brian was able to storm the field! Their phones had died and their rental car was towed, however, so they had to continue the march for miles all the way home.

Marriage

Brian married his high school sweetheart after nine years together. Best men: brothers David and Dylan, best friend Michael and brother-in-law Bobby.

Hawaii Trip

Brian and Kaylee took a trip to Hawaii. Brian had been looking forward to this for some time because it was his goal to visit all of the states and this was his 49th.

Freedom Fest

We all know much Brian loved July 4th and on his last one he was able to go and celebrate with Declan, Adalyn, Dylan and Fatima. The kids had their father wait in line at an ice cream truck for over an hour, only to just take a few bites and have their dad finish the rest!
