Breda Gregg
A place for us to come to remember Breda and share our memories
Obituary
Breda Gregg passed away peacefully at home on 6th January 2014. A devoted family woman, Breda embraced life fully and found her greatest happiness in the company of others. She left behind two children, Rachel (12) and Euan (16), along with the many family members and friends whose lives she touched and who remember her every day.
Having spent her life between Ireland and the UK, Breda formed friendships wherever she went. Many speak of her remarkable ability to bring joy simply through her presence, a gift that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
This page is a memorial to Breda—a place for those who loved her to share cherished memories, celebrate her life, and keep her spirit alive through remembrance.

I met Breda, in the early 1980's when we both worked together at the International Hotel.
I have many fun and good memories of Breda.
Breda, was so witty and funny, she could make anyone laugh.
We, used to love to hang out at the Laurels, and go to the Crock of Gold to listen to Cyril and Enda play,;Generally a huge group of us would go from the International, we had the best times. We, would often end up at the East Avenue, or the Deenach disco after the pubs, and dance our feet off.
Breda, loved to shop, she always looked so glamorous, her hair perfectly coiffed, outfits beautifully coordinated, People, would say how much she resembled, the late princess Di.
We, both went our separate ways, when my husband and I left for the US and Breda for the UK. We, kept in touch over the years, with Christmas cards, photos and social media. Breda, and her family came to visit us in the US, we had a fabulous time, we laughed so hard about our past wild girl times. Sadly, that was the last time I would ever see Breda, so glad I have those memories.
I, went to visit Breda's beautiful mother Marguerite, when I was in Killarney last, a candle was burning brightly next to Breda's picture, she was so loved by everyone.
Miss you, my dear friend, I will never forget you xxx

Hi there,
Myself and Breda were great friends growing up. We were in school together since we were little and we used to have great fun. I remember your mom being funny, lively, up for everything and smart. If I am correct, she was a great singer too. If I find any pics I will send.
Sending you all lots of love, Sheila

I knew Breda back in the early 1980's in Killarney. At that time she
was part of the team at the Killarney Three Lakes Hotel owned by
the King Family.I was working with James Gleeson in his Laundry
& Dry Cleaning business in Brewery lane. Breda could be calling
to us several times a day dropping or collecting Guests clothing
for service washing. Breda's great buddy Kay O Leary worked in
Gleeson's and Breda and Kay could be heard laughing every time they met. I can still see Breda standing tall and straight with a bright smile. They were happy times ....this is a lovely idea to
remember your beautiful Mam who left this life far too young &
far too soon.

Breda was so full of life, funny and had an energy about her that brought happiness wherever she went. She lit up a room.
I loved visiting her in the UK when I was younger, we would spend days shopping in all of the high at stores that hadn’t yet come to Ireland!
And when I had my girls she kept me stocked up on all the good teething stuff that could only be bought in the UK.
She was one of a kind and is greatly missed 💞

I think of Breda every day and light a candle next to her picture.
I miss our chats and of course her hearty laughter.
I called her Bird! She liked that .
She was a great daughter and I loved her with all my heart.♥️

Visited her home on many occasions and she would have “cream buns “ for our tea. A lovely lady and a pleasure to spend time in her home - her home had an open door for visitors RIP

I’ll always remember the days Rachel and I would watch scary movies (the film ‘2012’ to be exact) and eat way too much pasta and cheese, and Breda would laugh and say, “Would you like a box with that?” Now that I’m older, I would do anything to have that pasta and cheese again. So yes Breda, I definitely would love a box ❤️

I moved to Killarney in 1980 and I met Breda soon after. I dated her brother Tadgh rip.
Breda and I were great friends. We always had a laugh together. We both worked in the international hotel. I loved Breda.
I too had/have breast cancer but I’m a lucky survivor.
I ring Marguerite (Bredas mom) every few weeks. She’s still heartbroken of course. I attended Bredas funeral, heartbreaking.
When we worked together there were lots of parties! We so enjoyed our teens! lol.
Best of luck with this beautiful tribute to your mom. I’m sure she is very proud of you for this and all you’ve achieved! Well done!! ❤️❤️💕🌹xx
