Join us in remembering this beautiful woman who touched so many lives in her time on this earth.
Obituary
Billie Marcine Flint was born on December 24th, 1921 in Vacaville, California. Billie left us after complications derived from congestive heart failure on October 4th, 2024, just shy of reaching her 103rd birthday. Billie was surrounded by family as she peacefully passed on from this earthly realm. Billie was preceded in death by both parents, William and Mabel (Radcliffe) Dykes; all four of her siblings, Audrey, Truman (Mary), Bo (Roberta), Joy (Kelly); two husbands, Vern Haskin and Irving Flint; Sons In-Law, James (Grace) Ross, Bruce (Grace) Blake, and Michael (Renee) Toledo; Grandsons, Jeffrey Ross and Richard Haskin; Great Granddaughter, Kirsten Ross. Billie is survived by all seven of her children, Grace (Haskin) Blake, Tom (Nancy) Haskin, Darrell (Tammy) Haskin, Bill Haskin, Kim (Debbie) Flint, Rick (Dawn) Flint, and Renee (Flint) Toledo; 19 Grandchildren and their spouses, 39 Great Grandchildren, and 14 Great Great Grandchildren.
Billie had a love for nature's beauty, particularly focused on horses, flowers of all shapes and sizes, and beautiful birds. She had a kind soul and loving nature. She made and kept lifelong friends, whom she stayed in touch with over the years until many passed well before she did. Billie's time spent working in the Roseville hospital and Haight Nursery just down the street from her Roseville home, as well as the many years providing a landing pad for family who needed a temporary place to stay are obvious examples of her gentle nature. Further proof resides in all seven of her children who possess the same quiet, yet strong, demeanor.
Billie first married Vern Haskin, and together they had 4 children: Grace, Tom, Darrell, and Bill. After completing his service with the US Navy, Vern lost his life while piloting a crop dusting plane as a civilian, leaving Billie a widow. Billie later met and married Navy veteran Irving Flint and had 3 more children: Kim, Rick, and Renee. Irv passed away in 1990, leaving Billie to live the remainder of her years at her Roseville home in the company of the many children and grandchildren who have stayed with her over the years. In the last several years of Billie's life, son Bill moved in to help provide care for the property and Billie herself as she aged and required additional assistance. Billie was always surrounded by an unending stream of loving relatives, eager to pay back all of the love that she shared in her 102 years. She maintained the tradition of hosting Easter Sunday Potlucks for decades on end, acting as the glue that held this large family together, and providing all with an annual opportunity to see their extended family. Billie truly will be missed by so many, friends and family both.
