In honor of a life that left footprints of love.
Obituary
Bill Giannopoulos was born on February 10, 1959, in Patras, Greece, to Georgios and Kristalia Giannopoulos. He grew up alongside his four siblings, Amalia, Varvara, Nick, and Maria. During his childhood, the family moved to Mintilogli, a small village outside of Patras, where Bill created lifelong friendships and memories. In 1978, like many Greek immigrants of that time, Bill ventured to America with his mother. They settled in Astoria before later moving to 159th Street in Jamaica, Queens. Bill enjoyed nights out with friends in Astoria and became widely known around town.
While living in Jamaica, Bill helped put out a fire, catching the eye of a neighbor down the street who would eventually become his wife. Bill and Debbie were married in 1985, and together they had three children: Krystle, George, and Nicholas. The family later moved to Flushing, where they raised their children. Bill was a dedicated father, husband, and a wonderful uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He worked hard to provide for his family, ensuring they always had what they needed and more.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending much of his time outdoors with his two sons. His daughter, Krystle, married Adam and blessed Bill with three grandchildren: Nina, Gianni, and Despina Vassiliki, all of whom he adored. Papou Vasili was Nina’s favorite person, and she cherished every moment they spent together, no matter what they were doing.
Although his time with family and loved ones was tragically cut short, Bill’s laughter, love, and fun-filled spirit will forever be missed by those who knew him.

Today, we gather with heavy hearts to say goodbye to a dear friend who brought so much light into our lives. Billy was more than a friend—he was a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering kindness. His presence had a way of lifting others, and his smile could brighten even the darkest of days.
Billy lived with a quiet strength and generosity that touched everyone who knew him. Whether it was his quick wit, the warmth of his company, or the thoughtful way he cared for those around him, he left a lasting mark on each of our hearts.
Though we may feel a great emptiness with his passing, let us also celebrate the moments we shared, the laughter, the conversations, and the love. Billy’s spirit will continue to live on in our memories and in the ways he inspired us to live better and love deeper.
Goodbye, dear Billy. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May you rest in peace, and may we find comfort in knowing that your legacy of kindness and love will carry on through us.
You and your family are in my heart and prayers. I am so sorry for your loss. May God grant him rest and memory eternal!
Much love to you my friend.
We will miss you but your spirit will always be with your family.
Eonia I mnimi.
Sincerely and with love Nopy and Thalia Moshos
It’s hard to find the right words to express how much you meant to all of us. You were a light in every room you walked into—high-spirited, generous, and with a heart that always seemed big enough to hold everyone. You lived with such kindness, always putting others before yourself and never hesitating to lend a hand when someone needed it.
The world feels a little emptier without you here, but I know your spirit lives on in the countless lives you've touched. Your laughter, your warmth, and your boundless energy will never be forgotten. You were a gift to us all, and we feel so lucky to have known and loved you.
Rest peacefully, dear cousin. You will always be in our hearts.
With love and a heavy heart,
Jimmy & Pauline Kaouris and family
